"Your call was HERD" absolutely brilliant, killed me. Also loving the Darkest Dungeon sanity effects for fear.
Most of the game effects are on point in all videos.
The cow is that one JRPG boss that teaches you that debuffing is crucial.
Which, ironically, would make them Matador from SMT 3.

You mean mooooving!
I feel like normal cattle cows could be in S teir as well. They just have a slightly different play style. They sacrificed a lot of their play time for optimizng their build to be able to exploit the insanely OP human player's defensive infrastructure like fences, walls, guns and even human pets to keep them alive. And as a result they're able to copensate with an enourmous boost in the sheer number of playtroughs. Probably the most of almost any mammel except for maybe pigs and some small rodents. It means they don't really have to spec into any defensive stats or any main stat at all for that matter, except HP, and get a very easy playtrough most of the time. If you think about it, their play style is a lot more like mice/rats but way bigger and easier.
I know that you typically focus on builds rather than mechanics, but I would really like to see a video on the "adrenaline" buff, a status condition that can sometimes make intimidation backfire in the most hilarious ways. It's a ridiculous status effect and I'd like to see if it's truly as op as it seems.
yeah tbh i think the rng for adrenaline is a little busted allowing even relatively low strength builds in the middle weight class to flip over cars. i would love to see a video explaining how that works from a lore perspective
A vid about the best abilities would be pretty cool and adrenaline would be one of them.
He probably will mention it, since he rates animals on how fun they would be to play more than how well adapted they are.
Buff?? All of my adrenaline rushes leave me a sweaty, shaking, gasping, unintelligible and nauseated mess who can't even walk, talk, or think properly, with a nice big helping of impending doom on the side.
i wanna see a video on chickens
I really like the stand alone videos on specific animal family groups, but I’d also love to see videos on certain outliers of said families that people seem to label as superior to the rest. For cattle it’s the gaur, ratites the cassowary, deer it’s the moose and as of late giant anteaters have been receiving credit for being able to fend off jaguars. I’d love a video discussing the cassowary, maybe calling it something like “The Problem with Ratites” given their general low placement on the tier list?
“Are all ratites low tier?” might be a more fitting title since people sometimes seem to also bring up the fact that Emus alongside cassowaries shouldn’t be F tier, the group of birds is so interesting so their own stand alone video discussing which place higher then others would be great. He already hearted the original comment so I hope that means the idea might happen one day, I love the more bird based videos.
The problem with ratites: All the other dinosaurs evolved into birds, and they didn't get the memo
@@fluffysheap the thing is, based on fossil evidence, they seemed to have gotten the memo for a bit, but decided to go back to land dwelling for whatever reason. Too much effort I guess, honestly relatable
@RL emus literally won a war against humans though so automatic S-Tier.
@@DeckKnight that was when the Australian based humans were less advanced and hadn’t unlocked the advanced gun items also yeah, it was a conflict since the emu players were stealing food from the humans, causing a conflict between the classes. Although it wasn’t a war. Emus and cassowaries are very solid builds and the strongest birds by far, The ostrich is quite overrated because of the base size and mobility

As a human main that has worked with cows for years, you forgot to mention one thing! Their pack tactics ability is very similar to that of wolves, and although their intelligence isn't quite high enough to use them as a damage dealer companion, they still have some of the dog's positivity buffs as well. They make an exceptional high HP mount, or even a Tank party member! I've even seen cases where, with a high enough bond level, the cow will protect a sleeping human main.
It'd suck trying to gain exp from one of them if they huddle in a group, especially if you play the wolf or bear build. As another human main, I, too, find them to be great a support class.
yeah... I think cows are S tier ever since they unlocked "Symbiosis Pack" with the Human main players.
@@lastmanstanding5423 It seems like a lot of animals can get really strong after unlocking Symbiosis, just by playing support to Humans. I mean, if cats, an assasin build can do it, anyone can.

Should definitely do a list on banned and non-played builds, would be interested to see why they were banned/no longer played.
I would suppose that the large dinosaurs were probably banned because they started to stifle build variety. I think the devs really wanted to see what a mammalian meta could look like Some of the builds like Notharctus simply got improved in general, so they lost their playerbase over time. Niche optimization is what's killed most builds, since you'll find very few that are willing to play a build that's slightly worse in every regard. It's also very hard to get into a legacy build when there are no mentors willing to take you under their wing. Builds like humans and cyanobacteria also alter the game rules, making a lot of builds less viable.
Various balance patches made the builds unplayable. Imagine being a Tyrannosaurus main during and after the KT balance patch. I'm sure there were many irate players at the time!
Builds that are too powerful against humans don't stick around for long.

The horseshoe crab, successful for over 400 million jears.
@Romuland Meier Noobs clown on them because they game over when flipped on their backs, but I'd like to see their main stay in the game for this long, let alone without the ability to flip back on their feet. Any build that has been in the game for this long in spite of all the power creep is successful by default. Sure, stuff like mosasaurus looked cool and was absolutely oppressive back in its day, but where are they now? Some might argue that losing their playerbase equates losing the game, since spawning in new players is the main quest. Legacy builds deserve respect, even if they don't have all of the fancy features newer builds may have.

You could also mention, that Bison on the European server, basicly have no natural counters. Its size and mass is so great, that there is no predator main capable, of preying on them. Brown Bears and Grey Wolves sometimes try, but due to Bison living in wooded areas, they can defend much easier.
Bison aren't supposed to be on the European server though, right? It was human mains using an exploit to get them over there. Edit: I was apparently unaware that European Bison had been reintroduced following extinction in the wild. That's neat.
@@KindredBrujah Yup, they were primary tp tier oon European Server for the whole last expansion, but due to human mains, the playerbase did a rage quit. Only recently, thanks to human mains chilling out, Bison mains trully started to once again, take top tier.

5:14 Holy crap, can't believe they finally added playable walls! Not sure where they fit on the tier list yet, I'm hoping for B-tier
As a wall main, I can say walls are S tier with skill
Idunno, I feel like walls are C-tier at best sure they may have some of the highest defense stats in the game, and this stat can be further boosted thanks to the fortify ability from friendly players... but it comes at the cost of having all other stats near completely bottomed out. Not only does this mean an attack that can bypass a wall's defense will almost certainly cripple if not outright defeat it, but it also means that wall players are heavily reliant on other players to do much of anything. Heck, they're so reliant on other players that they can't even complete the game's main objective of reproduction without another player deciding that another wall player should be generated. A fun gimmick build, sure, and a strong defender at that. However, the over-reliance upon other playerbases to function severely cripples the walls' capabilities as a class. Now if they give it mobility or hunting skills in a future update, I can easily see it becoming a top-tier build, but for now it probably sits firmly in C-tier.
@@ilshail153 Agreed, adding onto that rodents are a popular class in the meta right now, and their teeth deals increased damage to walls.
@@ilshail153 true but brick walls are S tier walls, they can even survive top tiers like big bad wolves

"Your call was HERD." That got an unmanly snort out of me. Good job.
Cows can kick sideways very well AND have a very far range for their kick... I wouldn't underestimate the kick, just because the horns are so powerful.
2:49 That Gaur is HUGE!!! Bovines are truly some of the sweetest, cutest, strongest, hardiest and most family-oriented beings on this Earth. They really deserve more credit than we give them, and they certainly deserve better treatment from us humans. Thanks for this awesome vid,one of my favorites by far! 💖
Gaur are strong but do not seem nearly as aggressive as cape-buffalo. Just look at any footage of a tiger attacking them. It's hardly a struggle, because the tiger just grabs its throat and the guar just takes it. Hardly kicking, thrashing, or charging as expected with cape buffaloes. Their horns also do not do nearly the damage as a cape-buffalo's, due to more awkward shape (recurving almost behind their heads and not very sharp). Albeit gaur attacked by tigers are normally smaller females and make up a very small part of a tiger's diet; tiger actually prefer deer and boars. Thus didn't evolve under the same constant regular stressors as cape-buffaloes, which are regularly hunted by lions and hyenas.
@@alakazamgengar5434 That's pretty interesting! I don't know a whole lot about Gaur in particular but I've always thought they are so beautiful and handsome! 💖 Cape Buffalos are definitely some of my favorite bovines as well... Not quite as beautiful but they've really got heart and I love that about them. 💖
@@alakazamgengar5434 tigers don't attack fully grown gaur as they're too powerful and aggressive, the size difference alone would result in the gaur murking a Cape buffalo
@@Taimur.Shairyar Tigers don’t usually attack grown gaur because they are more risk adverse. A large gaur is an intimidating unnecessary increase of risk, especially for a solitary cat. They would rather ambush deer and boar. Albeit the horns and shoulders of gaur are better suited against other bovines. But not as great for attacking large cats
Bovines are also really playful in the right environment, we treat them so badly 😢
Side story about bison. Was visiting Yellowstone and on a guided tour, our host was explaining about how the bison had almost been wiped out. The guy had a gift for storytelling and by the end all of us felt a lot of empathy towards the plight of the poor buffalos. So right after he gets done telling us about how they're doing better now but really pulling on our heart strings to make us care about them, he ends with, "Oh and where we're going there's a restaurant that serves bison steaks you GOTTA try them they're so delicious." Bloody SILENCE on the bus as we just stare at dude who insisted we eat the animal he just spent 10 minutes making us care deeply about.
LOL I am a teacher and I do the same thing- create sympathy for a critter and then talk about eating it. It's how you get through the day when you tell the same story over and over and over.
That's why, you love chickens too - they are delicious and have to be protected.
Actually that might make sense tho. Animals like cows, pigs and chickens are incredibly numerous because we raise and eat them, and encouraging people to eat bison might do the same, especially since there are between 200,000-500,000 Bison being raised for meat. Plus Bison will also attack and kill other bison during mating season so it’s not a problem to take one or two out (and perhaps enjoy the meat while you’re at it) to help keep the population healthy.
Yes? What do you think the Plains Indians ate? "A dead buffalo is a dead Indian." One legend tells that some time after people had arrived in this world from the previous one, they experienced hard times and famine. Their brother who had stayed behind in the previous world saw this, and came as the buffalo to feed them.
there are a lot of cultures that eat the animals they worship. respect isn't mutually exclusive in that case. you can eat he bison and thank for the meat before and after the meal, many culures thank it after the kill. this natural respect is a big part of life.
Thank you Tierzoo for continuing the adrenaline OST from black ops 2.

You should’ve mentioned musk oxen as you did in your arctic meta vid. They’re undoubtedly S tier in my eyes. Not only do they have long, hooked horns for sweeping and impaling; they’ve also got an incredibly thick skull, which combos well with their high speed to create one of the strongest charge attacks in the game, being bested only by builds in a higher weight class. You’d think that such a powerful build would need huge amounts of loot to sustain, thus forcing it into solo queue, but their ruminant ability lets them make the most of every xp source in their environment, meaning they actually sustain themselves pretty easily and can still engage in OP group behavior that makes them almost immune to their only potential predators: wolves and bears. Musk ox players could face some stiff competition if arctic wolves ever decide to bulk up, but for the foreseeable future, musk oxen are completely uncontested top tiers.
Those aren’t cattle.
@@jeffreygao3956 Obviously not. Cape buffalo, water buffalo, bison, and yak are not cattle either. They are bovines tho.

@Godzilla King of The Monsters, actually, buffalo, bison, and yak are cattle, cattle and domestic cattle are not the same thing, a cattle is any even-toed hoofed mammal that belongs to the tribe Bovini, therefore gaurs, bantengs, koupreys, and saolas are also cattle, the word "bovine" is more correctly used for the subfamily Bovinae as a whole, bovines other than cattle (tribe Bovini) include the chousingha, nilgai, and spiral-horned antelope.

I don’t know how this wound up in my feed but it was glorious and I’m so grateful.
Great video but what about Musk Ox?
musk ox are actually more closely related to goats than cows
@@TierZoo oh thats iitnerting
@@TierZoo oh
@TierZoo, actually, goats are more closely related to cattle than either is to the muskox.
theyre big goats. square eyes n all
5:35 damn, all those graphics for under 5 seconds of video
I'd very much love to see some breakdowns on the more exotic (though somehow still incredibly popular) builds in the Fungi and Bacteria trees While the animals are easily the most flashy and visually varied builds, it's worth keeping in mind that the overwhelming majority of the playerbase play exclusively Bacteria builds, to the degree that almost every animal player is home to entire player-made bacteria cities.
That EyeWittnes intro gets me every time 😭 The nostalgia hits to hard
Saaaammmeee
"Deer's Unburden" had me rolling with laughter. Awesome video!
I read this as “are crows OP” 😉
He has so many new videos I haven't seen, his videos used to pop up in my recommendations and home page all the time.

Fascinating content, thanks for making Zoology so understandable and exciting!
There where three bots here
Got rid of em!
As a dairy farmer, yes, yes they are. Also, they are way faster than people think
and they can jump way higher than people think as well. people in bullfighting rings aren't as safe as they think. if a bull wanted to gore the crowd they could do it easily
And smarter. Cows aren't stupid, they're smart-but-slow. There's a difference.
Their kicks are worse than he makes out though. 😂
@@alexg1778 my dad broke his leg from a cow kick
yep, i've seen one split a massive wood beam in half with a single kick... at the cost of its own leg which pretty much exploded below the knee i wouldn't want to be hit by that, omfg. thank you, wood beam. your sacrifice will be remembered.
As a gaur player in the Indian servers I gotta say that they have the highest damn HP of the bovines, tigers will not attack out of knowing the amount of combo and quick moves needed to take the build down. It is only unlock-able by completing the water Buffalo survival event.
I love how funny these videos are and also love adrenaline from bo2 in the background
2:13 "Achievement Unlocked: Your call was HERD!" that actually made me laugh. Sounds like you're already a father with puns like that.
Holy dev team, your editing keeps getting better and better, amazing job as always
Dev team lol
Goring Rush also has the ability to break shields very easily! Trust me, I learned that every time I panic shield!
Dude I really love your approach of well teaching people about animals animals or dinosaurs are just giving us facts on other animals like ever since I survived the covid and watch your videos it was enjoyable because you talkin video game terms and that is awesome
i love how this man explains science and biology in a video game guide way, it just captivates me
TechTree is the history equivalent of Tierzoo: kzhead.info/tools/2bXLvvP5mV1TtJjcQjidAg.html
I don’t play video games and don’t understand half of what he’s saying…
@@jcorkable get gud scrub
7:51 "the human playerbase in the Indian server is notably less aggressive towards bovine players..." LMAO
Can you please make a full rat breakdown video with a part that also offers ideas on how the build could be better (improved)?
Found u from the Official podcast lol I dont know how I havent seen ur videos before, these r so good
can you please do a video about okapis? They’re beautiful animals with good stealth and a fairly large amount of HP, and I think they are very underrated.
I don’t know if he would make one SPECIFICALLY about okapis. Also predators can smell them from far away which takes away from their stealth..maybe he could make one on the giraffe family (includes okapis)
@@VelociraptorWithInternet true, but the fact to they can already walk within 30 minutes of birth is amazing. And unlike giraffes, they only have one natural predator(the African leopard) while giraffes have many predators. A video comparing the two would also be quite good, though
"Signature combat moves" with a bovine with a "Signature look of superiority" is the best part of the entire video.
i discovered your channel this week and have been binge watching your entire channel
8:20 I thought the hippo was part of the big five
Bovines are literally just light tanks! Definitely a powerful build
don't forget that bisons from NA have a very close relative in europe (mainly france and poland) where it has slightly bigger horns and longer legs where it is more useful in snowy forests, also with a grey skin it can be pretty hard to see even if the animal is quite large.
That's called the european bison, the bison species in North America is more correctly called the american bison.
Other advantages of the European bison include being browsers instead of Grazers and having higher held heads with front facing horns. Granting them access to more food and better combat options. He said bison used to be S-tier, and I say they still are whit an exception of American plains bison.
@@indyreno2933 They´re also called Wisent (at least in german). They were almost hunted to extinction but a program in Poland is helping them recover and they are now releasing the first herdes in western europe, were they used to live (like France and Germany for example). Really exciting stuff!
@Sunday dude, the two known local names of the European Bison (Bison bonasus) are wisent for the German Bison (Bison bonasus germanicus) and zubr for the Polish Bison (Bison bonasus bonasus), similarly, the known local name of the American Bison (Bison bison) is yanasi.
@@indyreno2933 Didn´t know that, thanks!
