When I built my house here in country Victoria back in 2018 the builder had those covers as a standard item. I quickly learned that the country is a great place for creepy crawlies of all descriptions! In my time here I've come across a red belly in a fight with a bird and an Eastern Brown frozen on the footpath right in front of me. It was actually that second incident that made me realise snakes are more scared of us than (I am) them!! And I suddenly had a lot of respect for them after that.
