  • Cory, when my never clog airstones would start to clog, slowing the bubble flow down, I just take them apart in the garage sink, remove the felt washers, squeeze and rinse the felt washers, put it back together with the plastic washers in between and they work like new, I still have a bunch of the replaceable felt washers that came with those airstones that I haven't needed to use yet. Thanks for great product research and development.

  • That first half of the video is exactly the content we need more of. Chill videos observing fish do their thing with insightful commentary. No idea how the algorithm would treat those, but I loved it. In those 10 minutes it reminded me why I keep fish. I haven't even had 10 minutes like that with my own fish room in quite a long time. Time for me to get into the fish room and recapture that magic. RIP Ladybird, I know this wasn't meant to be a eulogy, but as her last appearance it's beautiful just to see a day in the life. I also really appreciate the insight into the never clog airstone development, very cool to see everything that goes into your work. I realized before you even said it that a big chunk of your air stone sales are probably lost from the Easy Flow system. But, I'm sure you decided to release the Easy Flow system when you did, rather than holding off until you sold a bunch of air stones, because ultimately it makes the hobby better. That's what we're here for, hope to help keep your lights on (both business-wise and on my tanks) for years to come. Keep at it Cory!

  • Nice to see you happy in the fish room again. I thought that Lady Bird looked fantastic when you first walked into the room, almost like a wigglebutt puppy. I also really appreciate the fact that you strive to improve such a variety of products just because you think they should be better. Just wish I had purchased a few more heaters before they were pulled. Your teeth look great and hopefully wincie will have just as good an outcome with her eye. Thanks for the years of entertainment and better products for all of us.

  • Cory, I love your videos no matter what you show in ti myself. Have about a 100 gallons worth of aquariums and 3 tanks i kind of let them fall to the wayside for a couple years. I am now starting to get back into them with love and passion VS frustration. So I say if R&D falls by the wayside at least still do educational fish videos for us. I appreciate everything you do and the time and work you put into it. I watch many many of them. Thank you, Corey, for what you do.

    • @@AquariumCoop Cut it to size and hang it inside to make it easier. If you do not have a greenhouse equipment supplier look on line at Greenhouse Megastore or AM Leonard in OH. They both carry different grades/levels of light blocking shade cloth. I think a 50% would work and not make it too dark but you might need to do some testing. Can your air stone manufacturer do an ultrasonic weld or friction weld of the cap for you?

  • I hope you are (and assume you are) testing the never clog in very hard water. Even your "harder" water at your new place vs the store isn't nearly as hard as the other side of the state. I love your sponge filters but have to clean the plastic holes in the air collar every month or it clogs up for me. I didn't have that problem with the felt disks on the ziss never clogs.

    @feliciaheater5548@feliciaheater554813 күн бұрын
    • To be clear - I still think the benefits of the easy flow kits are SO worth the extra maintenance! Just would be cool if it was amazing and no extra maintenance :)

      @feliciaheater5548@feliciaheater554813 күн бұрын
    • I am having the exact same issue. I switched all of mine over to the new style and they are clogging in less than a week. Never had issues using the ziss never clog and standard sponge. Also I noticed about half of the air collars put out alot of bubbles while the other half put out alot less. Definitely think there is a manufacturing issue

      @madcowracing88@madcowracing8813 күн бұрын
    • @@madcowracing88oh interesting! Are you using the exact same air pump on each sponge filter? Could it be that the output from the pumps are different or that maybe the tank levels are different etc? Air behaves differently in different tanks based off of the depth of the tank the output volume of the pump the length of tubing etc. I don't have any issues with mine doing more or less air except exactly what I anticipate the differences being since I'm using some with the USB air pump and some with the battery backup version which is more powerful.

      @feliciaheater5548@feliciaheater554813 күн бұрын
    • Well that is odd. My well water is off the charts hard. Kh and Gh can't be fully measured by standard strips and Cory's test strips. I have one of the easy flows in two different tanks and mine never clog. I wonder what the difference between ours is?

      @jodip719@jodip71913 күн бұрын
    • Post some pictures on the forum. I'd like to see it as we have tested it in hardwater a bunch. I do see a lot of people getting clogging from debris this happens more often when people make the switch as it's picking up more debris than before, but then settles down after a few cleanings.

  • You can have the bottom parts of the new airstone injection molded. This would be the exact same thing out of the material you need and it's a standard hardware part which means the cost is extremely cheap. Zero bonding, no chemicals. The example I can give you is to look at a ziss air stone and the part that is "threaded". Same exactly idea for production and the tools you have can easily be modified to fit this new hardware version. "Injection molded threaded insert" Option 2. You have the tool as such that you have enough material to bond with the inserts after the fact, then you can install those as opposed to bonding anything at all. As a hobbyist, I wouldn't want a bonded air stone in my tank because of the chemicals going into the tank. I would feel so much more comfortable long term with a bonded in insert of some kind and metal Integrated into the tool / injection molding process.

  • Always appreciate the videos. Definitely going to reach out to ya/customer service about the clogging of the new air collars when using the curved lift tubes. Thought I was the only one having issues until reading others on here. Love and support Aquarium Co-op 100% and have spent alot of money there setting up my fish room. But there is definitely an issue that I never had using the ziss no clogs etc. Also they are not consistent as far as output when brand new like possibly a molding issue. Not being negative just a heads up as possibly other customers experiencing the same and minor adjustments needed to get them dialed in. Thanks for everything you do and offer

  • I would love to see a viable substitute for a ziss brine shrimp hatchery air stone that comes with your kit. I have 3 (2 in play at the moment). I already had to disassemble and clean out the air stone. Let me tell you... it was a BEAR to take apart. I am just blessed to have coax pliers that grip without damaging round things because salt clogged both stones and I had to rectify that. I am like this close to just yanking them out entirely. I swapped out original hard tubes that came in kit for much longer ones and I really love that but air stone situation has to be worked out because I figure I can take apart the plastic doo hickey so many times before it quits screwing back together. I do not want to be sacrificing a ziss air stone to the brine shrimp gods so there is that.
