I answered now 👍
hope someone will restore that vise after you destroy it
👍
Outstanding work. Very nice craftsmanship.
Like an old aged King asked the guy to restore his childhood vise.. and the guy restored it with honor and respect.. 🙏
I’d have left the marks around the jaws, yes I’d have fixed the chip at the jaw, and the anvil area and left the rest, when the old aged king asked me about them, I’d have said “ to remind you as you gaze at it, that you had a wonderful childhood”
. . . when USA was recognized as the best manufacturing in the world.
probably one of the best restorations on KZhead
🙏🏻🍻
This is possibly the most impressive restorations I've ever seen. That thing was absolutely brutalized and it looks better than it ever did new. A work of art
It is beyond a restoration. It is improved from the original factory condition. But now it is too nice to use.
Thanks 👍
This is museum quality work.
Imagine what the already expensive Wilton vise would cost if taken to this level of refinement at the factory! Wilton->welldone->(unmöglich) wohlgetan.
@@nettils5555 Restoration of this kind is in the category of a work of art more than just a tool. Having nice tools is appealing to some people.
Excellent restore. The way it should be done…I would say ..upgraded !! Cool looking vice
Oh man it's been a long time since I saw a vintage Wilton. That was built back when everything had soft swoopy lines and lots of curves. Back when everything looked like an airplane lol. It's a beautiful vise, and you did a great job restoring it.
Beautifully engineered vise. Meticulous restoration to preserve this piece of history. Thank you for sharing,
This might be the best tool restoration video I’ve ever seen. And I’ve seen a lot. Wonderful job.
It's actually ridiculous how beautiful it looks
The most beautiful vice I've seen. This tool looks usually very utilitarian but this manufacturer invested in good design as well, which is rare.
Stunning work. I recently returned home with my fathers collection of rusty anvils, vices, tongs etc. You’ve inspired me to clean them up.
Giving 'My Mechanics' a run for his money. Excellent work.
This is no longer a tool but a work of art
thank you 👍
One of the most satisfying restoration videos I've had the pleasure to watch. Beautifully done!
I just lubed up my old Wilton the other day and this Vid pops up. Never realized these vices are a work of art. Great Job.
🙏
This has been my favorite vise project I have seen on KZhead. It is gorgeous and I love the process you did to restore it. I've watched people sand blast, use electrolysis, all sorts of things. You were successful using chemicals and hand tools. Just phenomenal!
thank you so much
That old Wilton had seen some rough times but you took it back to better than factory new. Great work!!
thanks sir
''ABSOLUTELY AWESOME'' That's the most beautiful 70 year old antique I ever seen !!!! I tip my hat to you ''Sir''.....
thanks :)
Then you haven’t seen me !!!
👍
Thank you for posting. My neighbor gave me the same model vise. I wouldn't have known how to disassemble to clean or where to lube without your video.
I'm so glad you benefited from this video. greetings.
Better than new! Fantastic!!!
100% Better than Original !👌👌👌
Have not seen a vise restoration as good as this and is now 2022. SUPREME WORK SICK MASTER MECHANIKER !!!
Thanks sir
Hard to believe that is the same vise as you started out with. You done an amazing job on it. It is better than new after all you done.
What a gorgeous transformation
Awsome find and work! I did a quick search and the company still exists and makes these vises after 70+ years.
I know this was from two years ago, but wow! What a beautiful restoration! My Grandfather had one just like that in his workshop on his farm in Mississippi. Fantastic work!
Thanks sir
Wilton tool manufacturing had their factory on Wrightwood Ave right next to the L tracks in Chicago. Of course, the building has long been demolished and housing built at the site. Restoration was top notch. Kudos.
Thanks for info sir
Excellent job And I do mean excellent... You should time it so the handle hangs at 6 o'clock when vise is closed.
This vice probably looks better now than it did when it was new. Splendid restoration.
Thanks 👍
Better than it was brand new..!! This thing is incredible. Seriously never seen a restoration better than this in my life. Just absolute perfection!
Thanks Ricky 👍
I'm in love with your bench grinder.
Excellente restoration sir❤️👍💯🙏💪
My father had a Wilton in his workshop, its rests now in my own shop. I wish it looked this good! A beautiful restoration. Well done Sir
Now that’s what you call a restoration, nothing left untouched. Fantastic.
Thank you 👍
That was superbly done! Too beautiful,to actually use!
Thaks
THAT. IS. BEAUTIFUL!!!
I want to display that on my coffee table. Masterful work.
It's one of the best restorations I've seen, if not the best. The vise came out looking better than it did when it left the factory!
Thank you
The polish pops with that black paint same with the USA dunlop u da vice man love all your vice restos excellent
Nice to"hear" you finally switched to a sharp file.
That's the most complete recovery I've ever seen.
Thank you so much 👍

There is a lot of art on this. Thats why there is room for everyone on yt for restaurations. I can never get enough! Great content !
thanks
Attention to details and the will for perfection makes the whole story 💪🤩🤩🤩
👌👍
Beautiful, both the tool itself and the restoration
I’ve commented on this before, but it’s just pure artwork! Imagine the hours that went into this?
🙏🏻
Gorgeous restoration in the same vein as My Mechanics, thorough and skilled workmanship. Would love to have a vice like that!
thank you so much 👍
Funny because their names are slightly similar...
@@GuyMcPherson69 ones in english and ones in german, and they both speak german
You can get a Wilton for around 3-7 hundred used, and new bullet vises range drastically
Wow, beautiful restoration. We would call this a FLO piece (For Looks Only)
*inserts “Dayum” gif - That’s an amazing restoration.
Wow! Just an excellent restoration. Learned a lot watching your techniques. Thanks!
Incredibly well done. Quality vice very much improved from the factory. True show piece! Detailed craftsmanship!
Extreme Detailing. That's Great ! 👍
This is *madness* . I'm thrilled.
You done a fantastic job restoring the wilton vice. Absolutely stunning
Thank you so much 👍
You sir, are a true Artist. Absolute beauty in your work. I use Wilton Vises everyday and never in my life did I picture it as a true work of art. You ROCK...
Wow, thank you!
I think they look better than when they were first made.
My grandfather has one of these It was his fathers We still use it like it’s brand new
This was an amazing restoration! I really appreciate you removing the sharp edges and casting seams, and polishing the bare metal parts! Brilliant!
Thank you so much
An A+ effort, perfect and thank you for lubing all interior surfaces, one thing I would have put a washer between the swivel hold down bolt on each side and the base, the tightening and loosening over time will wear the paint on the base away. Really can be proud of such a great result!
That Hammertone product you painted it with looks so much better than the glossy spray paint other renovators tend to use. I wish everybody would choose this instead.
Yes me too
good job dude . professional . Patience . enjoyable . May the God give you the strength 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Amazing workmanship. Museum quality attention to detail. You are as much an artist as a machinist.
Having done two Wilton bullet vise restorations, neither as good as yours, my favorite part was first that you were lucky to get a vise with the end-cap in fairly good shape. And then you were particularly meticulous in correcting it's form and sanding it smooth. The impact on the finished restoration sets off well against the re-machined jaws. Very nice indeed!
thanks for comment
Agane see besssssssssst video and awesome product, I'm glad that there are still people like that who care about precision and beauty, I thought we were disappearing, I have no words to express my admiration, BRAVO keep up the good work, we are not disappearing, ressssssssspect from old BG.
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL WORK OF ART MY FRIEND!!!
This was the greatest thing I have ever watched on KZhead, thank you for taking the time to make this.
glad you like it
As usual, vintage artwork fit for a King!
Truly a joy to behold, better than new!
I'm glad you liked it, thank you
I love the way you made the new anvil out of weld! Stunning!
And the final restoration is beyond words... Just utterly gorgeous! You sir are an artist! 👩🎨
Holy shit! Watched the whole thing! Amazing work!!!!
OUTSTANDING JOB thanks for sharing
Thanks sir
I have a vise identical to this one. Unrestored and I still use it almost every day. This was a high end vise back in 1949. A vise like this one today would cost $600 USD. Beautiful restoration.
I also have the same vice that is used daily at my business. If you could find one at $600 I would buy it! Wilton still sells them today, its $1750 for a 6” wide Bullet vice.
👍 You have done a Magnificent Job! Taking Tools to Another Level! AMERICA This is What INDUSTRIAL ARTS is All ABOUT! & MUCH MORE!
Beautiful vise and beautiful job.
Better than new, definitely!
Congratulations. This is one of the best restorations I have ever seen.
I love those old Wilton Bullets. You did a great job restoring it. Thanks !
Thanks 👍
Magnificent restoration...far better than new with all the casting ridges removed.
Grand Slam Meine Mechaniker. One would not find a better made vise than WILTON in the entire United States. Not sure about Europe but one cannot go wrong with WILTON. First-rate restoration video.
Thanks 🙏🏻
The tools are always in better condition once you have restored them compared to when they were sold new. Amazing attention to detail. Mark
thanks
A beautiful job. I pays to go the extra mile. Thank you for your work. Really enjoyed watching!
🙏🏻🌿🔧
Gorgeous paint finish and texture.
Thanks sir
Very very nice work..This is excellent Restoration...far better then ORIGINAL.....amazing..
Thank you so much 👍
Excellent! Its a great looking vise. I like that you painted it black also. A great color for a classic item.
Now this is a restoration. It looks like it came out of the factory. I love that you used Hammerite paint. It gives that hammer finish look. Excellent work.
Agreed- I used a light blue Hammerite on an LS Starrett vise restoration and it makes me happy every time I use it. The vise seems happy.
Gorgeous, it’s art.
Craftmanship at its best..
BEST TABLE VISE RESTORATION EVER FANTASTIC AMAZING INCREDIBLE DETAIL YOU SHOULD BE PROUD OF YOUR WORK BUD AND I'M SURE YOU KEPT THAT TABLE VISE AND I ALSO LIKE THE STYLE OF THE BULLET TABLE VISE AND THE 2 SWIVEL TIGHTENERS....BETTER THEN BRAND NEW.....
Thanks a lot 👍
Nice to find someone else on the same league of my mechanics!
😊 thank you so much 👍
Labor of love! Museum piece now!
Perfect restoration. Keep it up 👍
That was the utmost perfection in a restore. I was really impressed. Keep up that caliber of work.
Wow, much MUCH better than new, great work
Well I never thought I would say this about a vise, being a woman, but it is...quite beautiful. Nice job!
No rough edges survived. Respect the patience in the tediousness of this restoration .
Dude this was an amazingly intricate restoration. Thank you for preserving this small piece of history. It looks badass! 👍🏾💃🏾
thanks 👍
It's just beautiful, how you work on these tools and revive them. Thank you for showing us, dear Usta.
This man is the Yehudi Menuhin of restoration of stuff, and how to do a YT video. My idea of an engineering masterpiece is to change the four spark plugs on my old 1990 TP Magna wagon. But, without much fear of contradiction, this is the best video I've ever seen on YT. Hands down! No 'music' or yakety yak. Dear God...thank you!!! Visually, wonderfully informative. It was also an excellent instruction lesson. Fully excellent production. It was as though I was standing next to MM while he was doing the job. The blokes in the factory that made this vice would be looking down from heaven with tears in their eyes. Thank you!
