My son was diagnosed with cancer at 3 years old and it was devastating… he will be 34 in April 👍
❤❤😂
Minha mãe morreu umes
This version of the song got me through my mother's battle with cancer, which she ultimately lost in Oct 2018. Tonight is the 1st time Ive listened to it in 5 yrs. Thanks Dee.
im sorry for your loss
So sorry for your loss. 🙏
I am so sorry. I’ve lost loved ones to cancer.
Im sorry for your loss, respect to you and your family bro
Well said friend-I’d almost forgotten this till my mum waas diagnosed
Don’t fuck with Dee. I’m 57 yrs old as he’s been sticking up for me since high school.❤️
i never realized how timeless this song really is.
This song will never die. This song is endless. Thank you Dee Snider.
it just makes you feel good inside
That song is about good vs evil in a deeper way... I love it because it gives me faith, it's like if I see Jesus trough this song

I never realized how powerful these lyrics are until now.
Heard this song 6 years ago when it came out and it made me tear up. Six years later my son 7yr old son was diagnosed with Stage 4 alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma. We've been fighting for almost a year and he has never given up once. Refused to shave his head until he was ready, and he ended up shaving my head. Life will never be as it was, but my faith and relationship with my wife and all my kids are stronger than ever. Every day is a fight and a blessing. Dad's fight for your kids and wife. Don't neglect them, don't cop out, and don't make excuses. Be a man. Moms stay strong.
Well said brother.
This made me tear up with the song in the background
❤
A hug for you....from the United States of Rock n Roll !!! 🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟
I never thought this song would bring me to tears.
ikr. no matter how many times i watch it which is a lot i get teary eyed or more everytime
Me too, so where is the video dedicated to unnecessary covid Deaths thanks to the fascist liberal regime?
I agree, for me was exactly the same!!!!
I'm agree.... A Masterpiece becomes something more relevant. Dee is a genius. Also Criss Angel Cancer must be terminated for good
Makes me cry as well
My son is a cancer survivor. God bless you Dee for bringing more awareness to childhood cancer. Still only 4 percent of all funding goes to childhood cancer research. My son was 9 and is now 22. Please donate it help save our children.
Nice! Glad he made it through ❤️
as as cancer survivor myself (a small skin tumor counts), I couldn't agree more.
♥️
@@christimecarmona6810 life is like a roullett wheel spinning it can point at anyone!!!!
Awesome! Happy for you kid! \m/-_-
He was hardcore in the 80’s and 90’s . . . And this is just another level! No flashy lights, no dramatic solo, just singing the song to the world’s greatest enemy, Cancer. Dee is fearless!
Jesus is on His side when He's singing about Children and their fight against cancer. Powerful.
He used to be fearless and on another level, now they sold out to commercials and to mainstream. Weak at best now. All he prays for is more money
And That Domestic Enemy Donald John Trump.
This to me is proof that people can say 'shouty music is bad'... and have no idea, that the artist is still.. a musician. Dee nails everything he sings.
@@LittleJoeTheMoonlightCat You just had to bring it there, didn't you?
As someone who is in remission from cancer for me being in the cancer ward every day for almost 2 years for chemo and radiation the saddest part of going in to recieve treatment was looking and talking to the children who were there because of cancer and their treatments, I had to try and hold back my tears in front of these brave little children every time I saw them. Now I'm 6'5 and 260lbs. and used to be a street fighter. I don't think there is anything worse then going to the hospital and finding out that one of these children who i would talk to has passed away from this illness. I would of graciously given my life to any of these great brave little children. I broke down crying the first time this happened. God saved me from this illness so far and we need to contribute so much more to these children so they have the God given right to live their lives. Thank you Dee for standing up for these beautiful little children.
I love that version of the song, Dee's voice is so full of emotion and powerful. But the video never fails to make me cry. It's even worse when you're a dad! My heart goes out to anyone who had to fight that horrible disease or suffer the loss of a close one to it. As another metal legend said: "You've got the power. Stand up and shout." Stay strong.
Dee Snider's a metal legend. Love this version of a metal classic
Truly a gem
In 1984, it was a song about rebelling against authority. In 2016, it became a song about rebelling against childhood cancer..................................
I salute you Mr. Dee Schneider for your beautiful song and your mission to bring awareness to the pediatric cancer patients, their families and the community. I also am grateful for your commitment to the late Harry Chapin’s charitable organization in helping to Feed the hungry in Long Island. You’re an amazing and generous and gifted musician. Thank you to your pianist and crew too.
my daughter died from brain cancer 3yrs ago today the week before her 2nd birthday the original song and music video was one of my favorites growing up in an abusive family it validated me so discovering this version just now after the what i've been through feels destined and gives it a whole new meaning so yeah gonna go cry for eternity
Damn, im so sorry for ur loss. 🤘😎
God bless her and you:💜
I'm so sorry for your loss... I don't know you nor what you believe in but I'm sure your daughter put this video on your path to show you she's still there with you everyday even if it's not in the same way as she was before❤️🩹Just know that she's always by your side and I hope you somehow felt a litlte bit of comfort reading my comment❤️🩹
I'm a cancer serviver .doctors gave me 6 months to live after the operation and well its almost 15 years now. Let's all stand up and fight this together. Dee Snider thanks. It's this song that got me thought.
My heart goes out to any family that has had to endure this horrible disease. Stay Strong
Taking that. Mom, sister, stepdad, aunt. Aunt died, rest alive, yet limited due to surgery and other things.
My wife is now struggling with Kidney failure. This song puts tears in my eyes
So powerful. So heartfelt. This acoustic version kicks ass. I've always enjoyed this song and this version gives it new meaning
As a sarcoma survivor, and as the son of a breast cancer survivor, this song totally hits deep... You rule, Dee
I grew up on Long Island New york in the 80s seeing bands like Twisted Sister, Zebra in the smallest venues. It is so great to see these bands still doing it 40 years later. Beautiful rendition of the song for a great cause.
First, Dee has kept himself in great shape! Second, I never knew he had pipes! Not like this at least. Third, what a performance! Tears are running down my face. How can anyone vote this down?
as of now it is only 232 down for 2.3 k up. or 1 in a thousand down
Because the world is littered with edge-lord pricks.
Love you brother.
🤦♂️ he was the LEAD SINGER for twisted sister. And you didn't know he had a good voice?
@@damionw9740 Just like the silly people who didn't know Sully Erna or Disturbed's lead couldn't sing either LMFAO.
My favorite singer of all time...Dee Snider
Perfect Vocal... perfect driver in voice!!! Hugs directly from Ilhabela!!!
Can not believe this video is not viral, so powerful!
@JohnBelz Is not about shaving heads you fuck head, its about the meaning of people fighiting against Cancer and many others diseases and if you dont like this GTFO.
I have an ever growing appreciation for this song
I understood this song the first time I heard it. Not that long ago to be honest. But this version, and the raw emotion in his voice is beautiful. I found this on the end of a podcast a few weeks ago. I can't even remember what the podcast was, but I don't think I'll forget this so quickly.
This song, is more than wonderful everytime i hear it, rock, piano, marriachi, or whatever. DEE, I'm from France, and you will always amaze me. Keep the Faith.
Goose bumps and tears at the same time. Thank U so much for this Dee.
Never thought this song would make me tear up, but here we are.
So much emotion. I lost it when the clippers came in for the first cut. Dee Snider has my eternal respect. As does the mother who has her head shaved so her child will not feel alone. It's a powerful message.
Dee Snider took his own legendary 80s rock anthem and made it even more epic.
Clive Palmer took it and turned it into garbage 🗑
Beautiful….I was pumped when I first saw this songs video back on VH1 … 2023 I’m crying 😢 God bless Thank you
I found this by accident during an evening of nostalgia. I wanted to share the music of my youth with my daughter. Twisted Sister helped me survive an abusive childhood. The confidence this song inspired stuck with me through my daughters health issues even if the actual song was a distant memory. Nothing hurts worse than watching strangers carry your child away while hoping desperately they can return her in better health. The helplessness is soul crushing. If only we could trade places, if only there was a god who could shift the punishment to me, I earned it, and spare my innocent child... If only, if only... I had to watch this video three times before I could make it to the end. I'm lucky, my child survived and thrived. I agonize with those who weren't so lucky. Thank you Dee Snider and Criss Angel for reminding us lucky ones we are lucky, for giving a voice to those in too much pain to speak. Please, if you can, donate. Time. Money. Sympathy. A hug. Any help is appreciated more than you can imagine.
Mom was diagnosed on Friday. One of the anthems of my youth and now takes on a whole other importance. Thank you DS!
Good on u Dee for caring u have heart 😊
Two years post cancer, this bought tears to my eyes.
This gift can sing in so many ways, from not just hard rock but piano
This brings tears to my eyes everytime I hear this. Mr. Snider, I salute you. What a great person, what a huge heart.
I've heard this version hundreds of times and it still brings me to tears. ❤💖💞💝
Dee Snider, man you made me cry, I remembered my father from the fights we went through, unfortunately he was defeated, but "We're Not Gonna Take It" Congratulations beautiful message!!!!!!
My wife loved this song it gave her hope till her end.
May she rest in peace.
This song as helped me believe that I will walk again. Thank you for that trust. Love the song
I believe that you can walk if you work for it and I know that you'll work for it.
MASTERPIECE. I LOVE IT IN 1983, I LOVE IT HERE IN COVID 2020
We are here in 2020-We are not in covid 2020!

Dee, thank you so much for all you do, you are one classy guy. Seriously.
Das beste was Dee Snider gemacht hat. Jeder der eine geliebten Menschen an den Krebs verloren hat, versteht den Song und den Kampf.
Came from TikTok. Amazing version. Thank you Deeman.
Dee Snider... An impressive voice, too much rage becomes love... What else
I love how powerful his voice sounds on this version! Its amazing how great Dee sounds to this day! Dee, Dio and Freddie are my favourite singers ^_^
Anyone who can watch this without tears, is not human. 😢
Just simply the best..3 years later still the best version I ever heard..twisted sister used to preform at a rock club I bounced in ..not even close 😪
Love this version Dee. Thank You
Honestly in love with this version of the song
Amazing...Lovable...I knew the song and the Artist wayback 80s & I love it. Theres a great reason to love "Dee" 🤟🤟🤟🤟 Nobody should dare tell me that his group or this song is bad.... My stepdad died of stage 3 Lung Cancer about yr 2000...& things will never be the same again. Dee proved to the world..age is just a f-c-in number !!! 🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟
I never thought a song that always made me happy, someday would make me cry...
This is a GREAT version of the song. My mom and I loved this song 'well the original version anyway". She just passed away at the end of "Sep" and she never got to hear this version but she would have loved it if she did! Hearing we're not going to take it like this really puts a whole new meaning and fell on it since she passed away. It's an incredibly deep powerful spiritual vibe that I get from it now and it was never that way when she was alive.
What a beautiful version ❤thank you mr snider
I love almost anything acoustic and this did not disappoint. Dee Snyder's powerful voice really shone through. In other words, it totally rocked.
I don’t think people realize what a powerful figure Dee Schneider is! He’s literally taken on Congress and childhood cancer! He is the hero we never knew he was going to be
Su voz no ha cambiado nada. Sigue igual de fuerte y melodiosa.
Dee is a good man, never stops Standing up and Fighting 👊
My mum was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer it was tough i felt helpless to help her this song helped me stay strong for her. She lost her battle with cancer on Dec 5 2009 .love u girl i still miss her 😔❤🙏 thank u Dee ❤
This version triggers so many emotions in me I don't know where to begin to even talk about it. All I can say is thank you Dee Snider, thank you so much mate.
cant help but stop and think AMEN
The piano in the beginning reminds me of Don't Stop Believing. Maybe it's the rhythm of it. Awesome rendition of this classic. DEE!!!💪
It's the same right hand two finger chord for both songs. For the left hand fingerings Journey's follows Ross Valory's famous bass line while this song does something different on the lower keys with its left hand.
What a real man, idol, lyricist this guy turned out to be. My teen age years were formed by these guys and others. My sons lady is 22 and heavily fighting Hodgkins ❤
I know this is old but Dee, thank you brother. This song helped save my life. I've bled out to the point of death but I slowly got better because of this version of this song. Brother, I appreciate you more than you'll ever know. Thank you man.
Dee Snider truly has a heart of gold
How can this not still be one of the number one videos
Wow! This video actually brought me to tears. Screw cancer
All the best for all the children of the world ❤ Thank you Dee.
Maravillosa versión... Imposible no llorar con todo lo que transmite ...
Amazing clip and message, and his voice is absolutely extraordinary I can not find words for that. Thank you Dee Snider...
Wow, the footage really chokes at your heart.
Stay Hungry was the very first Rock Album that I owned at 12 years of age. This version of that song and especially the video brought me to tears. Your not a human being if it doesn't choke you up! May Jesus Christ heal all those who suffer from cancer......AMEN!! Awesome work Dee!
Truly nothing less than - an absolutely beautiful version - of a great song. May God bless Chris and Dee, and all of those who are facing this fight.
I remember hanging out with my friends and singing along 30 yrs ago. The song was ahead of its time - either that or we never changed and took everything at face value like suckers.
well, damn, that was tear inducing.
Our son has juvenile diabetes and this gets me crying every time and even more determined.
The amount of respect I have for both Dee and Criss is beyond words. This is both beautiful and powerful and brought tears to my eyes. Great song made even better by a slight change in the message.
Beautiful work Dee and Criss ………..♥️🍺😎
Thank you Sir for doing this. Thank you both. What a great version of this classic. My 11 year old son passed away from childhood cancer. Thank you for using your gifts to shine a light on this issue.
Heard this song many years ago…. But this version it’s beautiful! 🙏
Twisted Sister were seriously super talented and were super underrated.
What a powerful voice and performance
How the hell have I not seen/heard this? 😢 Thank you Chris, and Dee!❤️
One of the most important versions of this great song ever recorded. Thank you!
A Hero of my childhood, now a hero for all...Great version...
When I first heard this I was so moved. then when I seen the video I was taken back. My heart goes out to all who have been effected by such tragedy. I agree that we must do something we need to be more diligent when spending time with family. A hug, a hour a week maybe a day month spend with a close one. The heart cleanses the soul. True Love will never grow old.
That's it Dee Snider. You have all myu respect. Besides great musician. You are a great human being. God Bless You!
This song takes on a whole new meaning when presented like this..
Im not..ehhh...we both are crying..
This is truly a song for now.
I really liked the first version because I was a young adult but as a cancer survivor I LOVE THIS VERSION.XX
God bless you. Praying things are going well for you.
beautiful version and ty Dee for everything you have done.
Even though this is for childhood cancer, I'm feeling this in my soul two days before (hopefully) my last session of chemo. A rare malignant uterine cancer 2 decades early. The kids need so much more help, it's much harder on their smaller bodies.
Lord.. this song.. I'm crying! "Twister Sister" is the best rock band, its songs are suitable for all times! This rock band will always be the best!!! (A. J. Perot.. also the best)
Sorry, I made a mistake, "Twisted Sister"
As a childcancer survivor I salute you❤
Great version of this classic metal anthem. Twisted sister were icons to me in my teenage years . Glad to see Dee Snider still kicking butt.
He has the nost powerful voice, even in this heartfelt version!
This song is beautiful, may those who are not with us be in heaven in heaven.😢
