Practice the toss alone and when you can get it more consistently then you can start trying to jump serve

try tossing with the same hand you hit with. i hit with my left, so i like to hold it in my left with my right hand flat on the bottom of my left hand, and then just keep my hand level as i toss

@@Tima10110 actually it helped me, I always put my non dominant foot first, never follow steppings and always thought jumping very high was the key but apparently, you need to jump forward as well.

@@lizhichen3111 ofc jumping high isn’t the solution lol i’ve seen liberos with 10” verts with wicked jump serves. The Toss is key and ur approach has to be fluid, especially focusing on speeding up the last two steps of your approach and snapping high and hard. I do wish however he made it clear that this specific video is for right handers.

Jump serve is such a powerful thing when u have 90-100 cm jump height. I was jumping as far as i could into the zone to get closer to net and was still able to hit the ball at around 310-320 cm height. and at this point if u are able to choose the destination of your serve - it's almost unstoppable

it depends, some guys even like to start one step earlier which means your left foot is front when starting, but if you do your steps like me and are right handed you should start with right foot front

As David said: There is not only one correct way. Some (right-handed) people are more comfortable starting with their left foot in front, with their first step already being part of the three-step approach. Try both ways. Meeting the ball at its highest point and at the correct location is the most important part imo.

What I did when I was still practicing was do jump floats(with the run) and hit the ball top-spin. It helped me hit the ball better when I started doing the one-hand toss.

There are a few main types of jump serves, this high toss one is getting power and topspin, but there’s also floater jump serves where you typically want to toss the ball pretty low and in the middle of your three step approach
