    • Should have replaced the Rod Bearings before the race. M54 engines are usually indestructible, but the 3.0L Version can get earlier wear on the Rod bearings compared to the 2.2L or 2.5L because of the long stroke they have. Rest is pretty much bulletproof.

      @opfekuacha6481@opfekuacha64812 жыл бұрын
    • @@opfekuacha6481 Most likely what happened was the oil pump nut came off and thats what sent everything out. m54b30s are well known for that. Same for the other variants of the m54 but less likely cuz they have less stroke and arent really used for racing as they lack power.

  • Looks like someone pulled a rod end out through the wheel well. I'm betting the oil pump nut backed off on the track and the engine starved of oil, spun the bearings and threw a rod. It is an M54B30. Oil pump nut problems!

    @pcproa1@pcproa12 жыл бұрын
    • Yes, you are right. In high RPM applications, especially in the range of 6700-6800 RPM, there is this hamonics, which makes the oil pump nut become loose. Also possible could be that the Oil runs too hot becomes to thin... as an effect oil pressure too low and not enough lubrcaiton for the system....

In 2018 the car started running into major issues and I realized it wasn't worth to keep fixing it. Parked it outside on my property up north and let it sit for 3 years. My friends and I would always talk about how we would turn it into a track car like yours. However by the time we got jobs and actually had the money to do so, the car had fallen into a severe state of disrepair. Got it towed last spring to a junk yard, always thought I would end up doing a build similar to yours. Keep it up!

  • I used to be a professional welder, and MIG welding doesnt necessarily want "dimes", that's more TIG welding due to the nature of dabbing the filler rod into the arc. MIG is a constant feed, so often you have no reason for "dimes", should lay flat and smooth. That and the spatter was horrible, the weld's should have decent penetration from what I saw, and the roll cage im sure is safe, but its not a high quality weld due to the sloppy beads and spatter.

    @neonbootygoon4385@neonbootygoon43852 жыл бұрын
    • Agreed. We actually sent the car back to the welder and told him the poor welds need to be ground down and re-welded. Thanks for the tip!

  • Hey man, love to see the vids. I stopped watching for a while because two cars of mine got stolen (only shitters but I loved then) then a third got taken away for false claims that were sadly cancelled too late for me to be able to get the car back and my fourth taken two weeks ago because I couldn’t afford to tax it while it was broken down outside my house snd the council crushed (or sold it) because I couldn’t pay the release fee. Your vids brought me so much joy in helping me repair my cars and really get to know n love em more. That love all died though with all this shit. but if i ever recover I know who im coming straight back to you, I tell all my mates here in the U.K. to check you out cause your so good at explaining in terms even someone like me can understand and I hope your channel just gets bigger and bigger. But I’m glad I can atleast watch you fish now 👌

    • To anyone reading who might think just chin up, no reason to fall out of love with cars. The first stolen was bassically a mechanic a gave it to who (I believe but no proven) sold off interior parts of the car (like my touch screen aftermarket radio, speakers and the dash) then when I noticed bits had been ‘stolen’ he crushed the car and pretended the whole thing was stolen (that’s a fact) buinesses in the area told me they had seen them taking to the car to the scrap yard (who there in cahoots with) and I also obtained a video the actualy mechanic and his mate recorded of themselves doing it. How I got the video? Because it turns out one of my mates of 10 years (who recommended me the garage) had the video and was there the day they did it. Sadly he and that garage are ‘freinds’ / ‘sponsors of this huge car group I was in, local to my area so obviously when the police investigated I was also ostracised from the group. (Bassically I feared being attacked by the people of the garage at meet ups since they had already threatened to come to my family’s house and my nans thanks to my ‘freind’ telling them all this information)

    • The second was a finance car, a nice 8 year old bmw msport, not super fast or flashy but awesome none the less. long story short a women made a false claim (I bumped into her while in stand still traffic at 1-2mph) she lied and said she could walk or work to my insurance so they cancelled my insurance and because of that I became such a high risk it would have been £3000 a month to insure me on the bmw. Since ir was uninsured the finance company took it away and a week after they did, my insurance cancelled the false claim and agreed the woman had lied, because when they went to investigate she cancelled her claim instantly after she heard she would be investigated. However, because of the fact she cancelled the claim despite my insurance also concluded it was a lie, I couldn’t sue her for the money I still today owe on the car. Despite not owning it and only having driven it a handful of times

    • The second stolen car was my attempt to make a budget friendly camper van to travel Europe. Got the car for cheap over lock down, started filling it with solar panels and other bits to make it livable short term (bed, running water ect) only to find it was stolen the day before I was going to move it to a secured location to allow me to work on it.

      @LethallyReptarded@LethallyReptarded2 жыл бұрын
    • The fourth is entirely my fault, I should have paid the tax because the car was on the road (although I did believe the road it was on was private so therefore exempt) but sadly this wasn’t the case and as I couldn’t afford to pay the release fee it was either crushed/or sold.

      @LethallyReptarded@LethallyReptarded2 жыл бұрын
    • The third car hurt the most, although I lost a dream with the second camper car, the third was the glimmer of hope I had to regaining the former limited fun I had with the other bmw, despite being older, worse condition. It had been modified in cool ways by the previous owner and it rekindled my love for cars and driving but was promptly crushed.
