Since his first appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe more than a decade ago in 2011’s Thor, Tom Hiddleston’s Loki has stood out as a super charismatic villain in a sea of less-than-charismatic Marvel villains. Subsequently appearing in several Marvel movies and surviving multiple on-screen deaths, Loki is now the star of his very own series on Disney Plus.
Loki definitely raises some questions though. Like why wasn’t Loki’s time travel allowed by the TVA if it’s exactly what caused the Avengers to time travel, which WAS allowed? How does watching a quick video montage completely change Loki, who was literally just slaughtering thousands of people in New York just a few moments ago? How do Loki’s actions in Pompeii not create a butterfly effect, when he causes people to perish in different positions than intended? Has nobody with enchantment powers ever been pruned before? When will we get to see Owen Wilson on a jet ski?
To answer all these questions and more, step inside the Pitch Meeting that led to Loki! It’ll be super easy, barely an inconvenience.

Watching the show, I felt like it was a bit of a missed opportunity the way they had him simply watch a video in order to retcon him into being the Loki we saw at the start of Infinity War. I’d have liked to have seen a whole show featuring asshole Loki travelling through the space-time continuum on a bunch of crazy, morally ambiguous adventures where maybe by the _end_ he learns a couple of life lessons. But I guess that’s not the direction they wanted to go in.

Worse still that black judge character is a moron
@James Brennan How is that diversity? They made the black character a bitch.
I just realized - the super curve Nexus event Loki and Silvie caused was not bc they were “falling in love” or whatever. It’s because they were about to die. And He Who Remains plan was for them to live, so that they would be offered the chance to take over the TVA.
Old Loki is always a win. Love the old tv batmanish costume
The scene with dozens of Loki’s backstabbing each other was just golden 😂
No apostrophe needed
No honor among -thieves- Lokis.
Yet they were useless, but nice easter egg.
I honestly thought 'Sylvie' was a pretty good show. I wonder if they will ever make a spin-off show featuring her goofy side-kick Loki as the main character.
I love the sarcasm in this comment
@@iamgroot2810 god yess, haha. honestly though, they're not wrong in the slightest haha.
I don't know every disney series I've watched now leaves me very unsatisfied. I don't know why but for some reason I don't care what happens like i would in different ones, like GoT (before the last season), Preacher, Stranger things, and so on
@@CptBlaueWolke Because most Disney writers do not know how to create a compelling villain or conflict. Disney producers prioritize hiring social activists rather than prioritizing people with solid writing skills. This is why we get shitty villains like Karli from Falcon/Winter Solider.
@@justinmadrid8712 i think social activists are no problem. It can be done very well and fitting but even that is something disney isn't capable of (btw they still present the outdated princess thing to audience with no message at all)
1:11 Finally you got him on jetski. And really seeing him on a jetski is tight 😂
The actual pitch meeting was: So have you seen Good Omens? We'll try to do that, poorly.

“We’re not the same person, I have glasses” - Ryan George, 2k21
No, one of them said it I think that was George.
Its true it worked for Clark Kent / Superman since 1938.
kk11?
This isn’t a basketball video game
Correction: Ryan George With Glasses to Ryan George Without Glasses, 2k21
“so we’re gonna cast owen wilson in this series!” “wow wow wow wow…wow” “and he will not say wow” “what-“

Ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!
They definitely should have said that
Woee
"Well, you, it's a subversion of expectations." "Fair enough!"
Oh my gosh something super weird just happened. When I watch the 3rd episode I was eating vanilla ice cream and now watching the clips of it in this episode brought the taste of vanilla ice cream into my mouth 😂
It all makes so much sense when explained like this
“He JUST killed Phil Coulson.” “Yeah but he watched a video.” Yup
No, Coulson just went to Tahiti.
@@MrWhangdoodles It's a magical place.
@@Pixis1 Phil coulson is the only person that dies and comes back more than loki
Doesn't Phil come back in an agent's if shield show
@@al7422 Yes, he spent some time in Tahiti.
"Then we meet Sylvie and this is *her show now* Lol
That's corporate feminism for you.
@@bandicootsauce4569 to be fair it was more of a tva show but i see your point
I feel like Marvel double pulled this with The Yelena Show too.
@@bandicootsauce4569 i am ok with that Because we got our loki almost 10 years now i wanted to see Sylvie in mcu so comic book fans are ok 🤷 you guys care about gender
@@JaySewani Then they had no right to call the show "Loki", rather they should've called it "Sylvie". The trailer duped me into thinking this was a show about our Loki. I feel cheated.
2:49 to be fair this was neccesary for lokis story to fully be fleshed out, cause in season 2 it shows why he can’t just kill sylvie, a super easy solution. And why he sacrifices himself to be the person who literally holds the multiverse together
tbf The Russos confirmed during The Avengers, Loki was corrupted and controlled by the Mind Stone so that's their way of retconning his personality.
My sons are 9 and 13. Almost everyday they ask if there’s another KZhead video by “that guy who talks to himself about making movies”. Also, they loved Loki. I can’t wait to show them this.
i want to be as good of a dad as you are, one day
...well? What did they think?
@@bitterheat3415 ha ha. They loved it, of course! The 9 year old said “super easy, barely an inconvenience” along with Ryan. :-)
Tell them to not be silly they're two different people

By carrying this whole channel on his back, Ryan George is truly burdened with glorious purpose.
Nah, it's super easy, barely an inconvenience 😉
damn right and we have our new Ryan Multiverse of Madness
Is ryan the one with glasses or without one?
Do we know that Ryan is even the exclusive writer for these pitch meetings?
