“The LFA is so good, not even the people who made it, know how to make it again”-Jeremy Clarkson
so true
I don't know how much they spent on the development of the LFA, but I am sure Toyota will never again greenlight that much money to be blown on a car which they are going to sell at a loss.
@@ivaniii9707 yeah we unfortunately will never see another LFA, after over a decade of deigns being made and scrapped over and over, and probably excessive RND budget expenses and of course as you mentioned, losing money on every one they even managed to sell, it was a phenomenal car and one of my all time favorite cars ever; but from a business standpoint making something like it again isnt feasable in the slightest so all we can really do is be thankful that they even made the LFA
I never realized that goon said that. However what does he know about the LFA that the designers and crew didn't know?
thats because all the best bits of the LFA were engineered by Yamaha
Lexus was too scared to get too far away from being a Lexus and really made a car made for no one
They're slowly sticking their neck out though. Hopeful to see some new releases from them soon.
Give it a few years and maybe they’ll get it
Totally in agreement with that comment.
@@randyneves9701 they did but it flopped.

No, seriously, of all the things that James Engelsman has said, this is the one that everybody's gonna remember.
I honestly LOVE the styling of this car. Lexus really knows how to get the angular aggressive looks right
It's a great car. I miss mines and as of late the RCF's have become even more rare. Everyone loves to throw numbers and liked to remind me of "faster" options as if most owners of these highly expensive cars were racing through the streets every day trying to beat track times. Hell, i am actually looking into buying a lightly used track edition RCF as we speak.
Wait, what? Lexus gets what? Its a mishaped blob and the only angular parts are the worst part of the design. Lexus doesnt get anything design wise, since they stopped copying mercs. The RC is as overcharged stylistically as the Supra, hence why it lacks presence after you saw it for a few times.
@@AI-qd4vbUtter nonsense, style is a preference so you can say whatever you like about the car… But we aren’t going as far to say that it’s pretty much an ugly car ESPECIALLY with the shit BMW and Mercedes put out nowadays design wise. If the Lexus RC F is a “overcharged style”, at least it’s unique unlike BMW and Mercedes. Those 2 brands haven’t put out a good looking car since they recently changed their design language. Audi has been the only German brand that has quite nice designs. Again, it’s an opinion thing so it’s no point for back and forth argument about this debate.
@@kellyoubrejr544I’m a fan of Lexus but can’t seem to like the front end. Headlights always had that like if it was punched in the face design at some angles. Side profile is sexy and rear too, but towards the front just looks weird. BMW has always had handsome gorgeous looking cars until their redesigns which absolutely KILLED the designs it looks horrendous. You can’t tell me the 2021 M340i isn’t sexy and gorgeous.
Im not a fan of the sloping hood and the hump in it.
"They made the air compressing, lighter air conditioning weighter less." -James
-and Socrates
He says it with such confidence.
Oh my god that was hilarious. He said it so straight, Thomas perfectly summarized my thoughts on it 😂
He says 'They went with a lighter air conditioning compressor". When does he say your comment?
Gotta love Thomas's Dutch-sounding replay.
Best chemistry since Hammond, CLARKSON, and May..
S K if that's the case, why are they still in production together? The reality is that people do argue all the time, it doesn't mean much. Especially if you're in each other's space all the time.
@S K what TV were you watching? They didn’t get along when the cameras were on either lmao Still great chemistry
There's no doubt in my mind that we are not only going bull, but BTCis going nuclear. A lot of people are wondering if now is a good time to buy because of where the price is at right now. I'd say it's outrightly wrong to just sit back hodl and wait maybe incur some losses along the line, that's a wrong mindset for an investor because as an investor finding ways to always increase and stack up more coins thereby making prof!ts should be the way of life, even experienced traders are in a doubt to take long or short position. Throttle House to 10,000,000 I feel like few people accidentally stumble across this channel and never get the urge to watch again. I’ve been watching every upload for almost 2 years. Ever since Thomas brought James along, they are hilarious, informative, the chemistry is great. True friendship. Both wonderful car enthusiast. High production quality, great cinematics. Y’all could easily get to 10,000,000. I also like how they don’t over saturate the YT with content. Channels that upload 20 times a day just to get an extra buck end up dying because people lose interest. When we check for a new upload and one isn’t there, we don’t care. We’re left with suspense and will check everyday until a new upload has arrived. It’s worth it.
For me it's the delivery. Everything they say about the cars comes across like they really thought about it, as opposed to "bro, this paint pops, like in some light it does but not in other light." "Now let's talk about whether the satellite radio can rewind for 20 minutes, and if we remember, we'll discuss the ride quality in the last three seconds." I live cars, and that channel bored me to tears.
@@DavekayBSC hahah TheStraightPipes ftl I actually can't believe this channel doesn't have 10x the subs they do...the quality here is on the level of carfection.
@@DavekayBSC Haha... I can't watch the that other channel anymore. Not sure how to interpret "It's really pretty ok" commentary. And the constant index finger wagging while talking drives me nuts. Haha. Throttlehouse destroys them on so many levels.
Well said! I don’t know how I stumbled upon their video about a year or so ago but have been trying to follow their videos since! Amazing team they have with them as well.
@@DavekayBSC So well put. I was a fan of TSP for a bit, but they seem to have this arrogant "we're youtubers" mentality. I think they forget they don't actually own the cars they test. Too bad, they used to be enjoyable. Throttle House is so much better, on so many levels. I think the fact that TH caught and passed TSP in subscribers drives them nuts. I guess begging for subscribers isn't all it takes....you need content!
"It's not the size of the grill, it's how it's applied to the front of the car" - Thomas Socrates
I’ve been saying this, the grill design is nice, it’s how it’s implemented which makes it work or not. The only Lexus models I don’t like being a Lexus fan, is the 3rd gen is and the gx.
This. It's infuriating when you're criticizing BMW (M3/M4) grillles but then some idiot comes with a "but Audi and Lexus has big grilles, too" argument.
Throttle House days are the best days 🖤
Damm right it is
Couldn’t have said it better.
Yupp
great
LOVE throttle house especially Thomas's Canadian "must clearly enunciate while never EVER dropping my Gs". Eg, drivin, makin, waitin, etc (or "I'm gonna" instead of I'm going to). He can't lol
Everyone’s thinking it, but I’m gonna say it. Throttle House is the best automotive content available today. Informative, beautifully shot, and extremely entertaining writing and presentation.
Donut Media and Doug Demuro are contenders, in my opinion. However, Throttle House are the best at integrating comedy, quality information and great quality production. They will continue to grow and grow and deserve nothing but success.
@@scottlauren3145 I've stopped watching Doug...his videos have gotten repetitive and boring and unoriginal. I'll watch if there's a car I'm really interested in, but not every video like I used to.
@@djsomeguy sorry. What?
Yeah right up with doug and donut media imo, they deserve at least 4 or 5 mil subs

Felt a bit bumed out that there was no intro skit, but the outtake at the end more than compensated for that. We need more outtakes!

Thomas does a great job articulating driving dynamics on track! Can’t get enough!
“Look! Is that a classic Alfa?” Would get me every time too. Don’t worry Thomas
seeing y'all growth over the years has been great to watch
"this is the same colour as the trees over there with no leaves on them" 😂
Whenever the intro is changed again, that sentence better be in it. Or make it the company motto. Y’all need to pray it to the car gods. Something. “They made the air conditioning, lighter air conditioning weighter less.” needs to be in history books. Don’t let this line be forgotten.
Lexus was smart to make the RC when it was first introduced, they needed a sub-hundred-grand GT coupe and used extra parts from the IS, ES, and GS to develop this. Problem with the RCF Track Edition was that it’s not focused enough to be a track car. The carbon fiber panels barely shaved off any weight and it still keeps most of the luxury bits from the RC 350. The V8 is also pretty underpowered compared to the competition. For 100k, this is encroaching Porsche GT4 territory and the GT4 is simply a way more focused track car. It’s still a pretty damn good GT car. However, if I wanted a GT car from Lexus, I’d rather buy the LC500 for nearly the same price.
This is a compact coupe. Its based on the IS and uses all the bin parts from that car. Its got nothing from an ES which is an entirely different platform and I doubt it shares anything more than an anecdotical percentage of parts with the GS which is a different segment. Interior, tech, powertrain, all comes from the IS. Thats also one of the reasons its so heavy and uninspired performance wise. The IS was designed with the hybrid powertrain in mind and very little thought was put into weight balance or chasis stiffness for performance applications. You cant always reinforce a car to handle the power the performance segment needs. Thats why they didnt even bother into making the is500 into a performace version and instead just went with the "zen" approach of just making it a sleeper V8.
@@AI-qd4vbHybrid power train in mind? Where is that at

Amazing review guys! Love how it was basically an LC500 ad at the end of it🤣
Socrates was indeed a busy man, but on his busiest day he still wasn't quite as hectic as Thomas on that hot lap. Like watching a one armed performer juggle snakes whilst both they AND the snakes were on fire. And on a unicycle.
Throttle House has to be on the short list of top automotive KZhead channels.
The after credits are hilarious. Thanks for sharing that and all the content. Thanks.
Another great video. Ya'll are on a roll! Get these two a major TV deal.
This car seems like a gentleman in a suit step into a boxing ring with a guy who fights people in bars on weekends
Man I do really like these Lexus V8’s. They are super unique.
These will be the last of them, next year they will be switching to 4.0TT V8
@@saltyfloridaman7163 good comment /s, lol, always love when someone debates a subjective opinion. Next time post something worth-while. To me it is very unique especially in the way it sounds. I never said the build is a unique engineering masterpiece; simply that the characteristics are unique. I don’t even really like V8’s in general unless they rev high or sound more European, they all sound soulless and anti-climatic.
You guys are great. That ending was hilarious 😂
Thanks Thomas & James for the honest review!
10:54 LMAO...Did Thomas just say "It's got a big WANG"??
Yeah 🤣
Yes, but apparently it hasn't read the Kama Sutra, as it only has one position.

Was looking for this comment. Guess it's packing?
I have a feeling we'll look back on these more fondly simply for the fact it's an NA V8 and it'll last till the end of time. I have no idea if that'll be reflected in the prices, though.

Great video guys, cool looking Lexus too!
The bloopers were GOLD!
It's probably a good daily driver good enough for power looks like the interior is comfy sounds great
I love this car entirely and always will, with that said they still need to drop another 150lbs and give it over 500hp..the conpetition is so far ahead ....with that said these do have good top end power and sound incredible
I watch this evertime it's recommended to me for the last minute of the video
it really looked like it was pogoing in corners, spot on descriotion👌
Costs almost the same as a GT-R. No thanks. Regular RC F is fine
Stg I’ll reduce my own weight
Can’t you make this from the RC-F for little to $2k? I Ike the RC platform but this doesn’t need to exist for such a high price
@@chris-andrebrissett5208 carbon ceramic brakes aren't 2k and neither are light panels. however, 100tw tires on a regular RC F would probably net a faster hotlap
Mind boggling visual and sound effects.
It's 530 torque in Australia 0-100 in 4 secs which is very quick. It also beat 911s and Corvettes in recent races. It will also outlast all competitors - that's real luxury and power.
i am LOVING the increase in production quality
This is true perfection for someone that loves Japanese sports cars.
No manual gearbox, weighs more than Jupiter, not easy to slide or maintain a slide, and slow around track. Dafuq u smoking
@@user-eu9ub8kj9j I’m talking new. The Supra is a Z4, the GTR is all wheel drive, the Miata isn’t really that exciting. So this is what’s left, plus the new Nissan Z which isn’t even out yet.
@@doggedlydetermined7022 "the miata isn't really that exciting" lmao
@@doggedlydetermined7022 I'm lost on what you mean "the gtr is awd" *when the R32-34 were all awd aswell so what are u on about the gtrs case* the mk5 maybe built off a bmw but its still a very decent(more or less better)than the RCF other than some points in reliability and your comparing a 100k boat with way more power to a 20k miata.
@@emmanuelperrina6105 yeah I don’t consider a 180 horsepower 4 cylinder car to be that exciting, but maybe I’m just used to higher end cars idk
It's a pretty car not gonna lie, and it sounds fantastic! Unfortunately if I had that kind of money, there are several cars I'd rather get. I think that's truly the crux of the issue, it's not a bad car at all, just that there are better options in that price range.
I spy with my little eye a CWD logo on the track at the 4:04 mark. Remnant from "Canada's Worst Driver"? Thanks for another excellent vid from the Throttle House team. One day I will learn to not watch when having dinner due to sudden fits of laughter 😉
His description of the on-track handling gives me flashbacks. Years ago, I owned an E36 M3, and I got to instruct a student on a track in a 1st gen IS300. You know, the one that was gonna put the BMW 3-series (including the M3) in its place. It was almost exactly like this RC F: Up to about 8/10, it felt very good. Lovely engine, good seats, good build quality. Nice compromise between ride and handling. Typical Lexus. But once you started approaching its limits, it got squirrely. Like, you could go around the same corner at the same speed three times in a row, and it would be like three different cars: one time it would plow, next time the back end would step out, and the third time it would do both. The M3, OTOH, you could drive right up to (or even slightly beyond) its limits, and know exactly what it was going to do next.
I really liked the original RCF when it came out around 2015, the performance numbers at the time were good and it was kind of like a modern Supra (at least in purpose) and the price wasn't too bad. Alas time has gone on and it didn't receive any meaningful updates to the base trim. Off topic that outro was hilarious. XD
damn this is cinematic 😍
This channel is brilliant
The “Lexus Elements” gesticulation is priceless!
Well, idk if it’s really a bad purchase. I think it’ll be a collectors car in it’s tiny niche and reliable too. That doesn’t take away from the fact that it is still heavy and doesn’t keep up with the Germans as well either, but it’s Lexus and it’s a limited edition run, a very special car that practically no one would want to buy.
The ending should have been the intro hahaha
Man that instrument cluster look sooo good
RC F with an exhaust is an unforgettable sound.
As a Lexus owner, I would still fall for the Classic Alfa and start looking around 😂
James is getting much better at analyzing the cars! He could be the next Top Gear host with the way he says aluminum!
TH > TG
Ontario? Particularly Dunnville? I think I recognize this air strip. "CWD". Canada's Worst Driver.
I love you guys so much. You are the new Top Gear. If you ever want to drive my Boss 302 on the Dragon come on down.
Loved the blooper at the end, lol 😆
I think the only way I'd buy this car is if I lived close to a road course. But even then it's still pretty pricey. Gorgeous though.
It's a great car, just priced out of being truly competitive.
Even of it was priced competitively, it's still lacking. All it really has going for it is the NA V8.
@@person.w9780 Yep if I were to get the V8, get the LC500 or IS500 since they prioritize luxury over performance which is why they aren’t F cars. I don’t want a performance oriented car that falls flat on performance.
@@person.w9780 I disagree. The current problem is that you're essentially paying a premium for a car with performance not befitting its price tag and design language. However, price being equal or even undercutting its competition (as lexus was originally intended to do), then the choice becomes far more subjective and preferential. Generally speaking, no true F car has ever preformed head and shoulders above its competition on a track.
I’d rather get this as a used car. I’m pretty sure it would be a bag for your buck used but 100k for this considering the price is a no for most.
@@chris-andrebrissett5208 just buy an original, pre-facelift RC F and do some minor suspension mods. Less than half the price, just as solid thanks to the build quality and you even get your choice of TVD or Torsen.
That was the perfect, most relatable intro ever 😂
The editing🔥🔥
They're so good! If you like Lexus reviews, I've made plenty of them. If you have time let me know what you think :)

How much does removing seat warmers reduce weight? That would be absolutely negligible.
..."and I'm pleased to announce the carpet does match the drapes in here"... LOL James you dirty dirty man... love it. You guys rock, keep on-keepin' on! :)
These bloopers cracks me up
That V8 sounds epic though
naturally aspirated v8 for the track producing almost 500 hp, you could get the same thing in a mustang gt for 1/3 of the price, that's why it doesn't sell.
The Mustang's interior, build quality and reliability does not compare to the Lexus.
I keep watching the outtake cause I cant wait for my James Tee to arrive, it got shipped today
I like both LC500 and this RC F track edition 💕😍
Review the EQS maybe? I love you guys reviewing Electric cars and Luxury SUVs and Sedans

That blooper at the end though. :D
I'm a Lexus die hard fan, I genuinely wish from the bottom of my heart that Lexus would make a proper sport car with a proper price !!

They need to add forced induction to the v8 to give it the power it needs and they need to lighten the car up some more.
@@theyhatehimbecausehetoldth7576 This means no V8 with forced induction then. If it is light, it will definitely not be able to deliver on the V8.
