Thanks for the video. I am watching it to learn some things. You bring lots of exploration about RVs and things around it, but *please take a few lessons how to take videos, so it should show us more. Like what to point the camera to rather, Etc. So many times we don’t need to see your face, but rather we want see what you see.* (I will post it in several of your videos since I bump into those problems there as well. Its constructive critique.)

OUTSTANDING. ! Can't be much different between a 43 and a 45 foot coach. Drove a 78 foot truck and trailer all over the US for the last 25 years. All it takes is some road time and a lot of paying attention to what you are doing. Every day is a new situation. Time and patience goes a long way. STAY SAFE OUT THERE. 😷🙏🇺🇸

Great job. I am a CDL instructor (former OTR) and I have a 45' dual axle freightliner cab party (limo on steroids) bus I drive. These buses are harder to drive than the tractor trailer combos. Another great vid Andrew and as always stay safe and give Sadie some love for me.

A "Prevost" is the Scalade of all motor coaches. I've been a commercial driver for over 30 years. And I'm very familiar with: Prevost, Van Hools, MCi's, dual air braking system, including the Thelma braking system they need to be aware of.. In addition to the tag axle, turning in the opposite direction as you turn left or right to accommodate your turns.. I wouldn't mind coming over and do a proper behind the wheel training.. on these Coaches

I’m a commercial driver I’ve driven everything from school bus, motor coaches, Entertainer motor coaches with mega trailers and semi trucks and this is a prime reason why I think those that own buses of this size should have a CDL and a minimum of training requirement. If you notice in this video he was saying you need to make sure your air pressure is up and working properly and she was worried about the seatbelt. When she was making her left-hand turn she was looking forward but she never looked in her mirrors to see if her rear with hit a sign or pole when she swung to the left. These are not big RVs these are buses that way a minimum 50,000 or more pounds

Been driving practically every thing , from MOTORHOME, with a 53 foot trailer, extended hood W900 large Sleeper, 53 foot trailer, for years, and last week gotta drive a diesel pusher. It needed to go to the shop in south Florida, 45 foot. Never driven one, so my friend asked me if I could take it from Daytona to south Florida, yep I said. Absolutely was easier than I thought.

Awesome! We have a 30ft Class C and are planning to upgrade to a 40ft Class A. We've been worried about the transition in driving a longer coach, this gave us the confidence we needed.

I agree with you! It is always good to have two people that know how to drive the rig, never know when you’re needed to drive it. It can be very daunting but there are people who can help with the learning. We don’t have a rig of any size & never drove the van with the tent trailer, but am going to learn to drive our next configuration, I’ve started to boost my confidence over it! When looking at rigs, test drive it, just like the smaller vehicles, some drive easier than others. Thanks for this video, you rocked it!

Great job !! I remember my first time driving a prevost and it was quite a trip. Tampa to Sacramento in 3 days and it was really fun. It made me a believer in large coaches such as a prevost with the great ride.

It is not a commerical vehicle it is a privately own vehicle. But training is needed to operate them.

Court, Heather and Andrew, you guys are killing me. While I love our Dynasty, a Prevost conversion is definitely top on my want list for our next coach. Watching this isn’t helping any. 😜 Andrew, like Court, I like to coast as it’s my favorite “gear” for economy. I didn’t like the immediate downshift and activation of the engine compression brake. I wired in a normally open switch as a foot pedal like the earlier Jake brakes used so I can control when the compression braking activates and I can coast. It may be something you want to look in to. Great video and love your guys’ coach. Mike

On the subject of the transmission brake. Keep an eye on the trans temp. If operating any were there a long downgrade. The trans temp dill climb very quickly to a point that you can cause damage.

Good job Heather. I was going to drive trucks coast to coast or local runs after military even got 100% correct answers on Virginia CDL exam. Just never followed up with getting license. Should have got myself one of the Provost coaches when it first crossed my mind. I only pull into truck stops or gas stations I can pull straight through without having to make any difficult maneuvers even guys in Miatas think they don’t have to move. I mean you be doing a small turn guy be like I want a new car because you crushed the aluminum can I was driving. I live near a church I was once debating paving the lot with one stipulation I could used the lot to get coach turned around if I came home approaching the from north and needed to get into my drive way. I mean I can swing out into other lane and make right turn into my driveway but not trying to rollover or buy somebody a Miata because they not paying attention to me. I jump into left lane to turn right they see my blinkers but they don’t care they be like I can still make it even if I decide to start the right turn. Next thing you know they be like you saw me alongside of you and now they want next years newest Cadillac and they were driving a 1974 Pinto.

Honestly let’s just face it, and the reality is that some people -(whether male or female) are/were born with a high motor skill predisposition...and superior performance of motor skills. Some were born with it, others acquired it through early on the farm training as kids...then still some or probably most attending some type of vocational training. I started driving my dad’s car out on the highway at eleven (11) years old - sitting on telephone books, and drove my granddaddy’s John Deere tractor at an even earlier age. Even though I’ve been driving since I was a kid, I didn’t get my official state license until I was in college at 21years of age. I studied for my CDL, drove 18-wheelers, church buses and RV motor homes. I share all this to say that anybody who already has an experience and how to operate any type of vehicle, can train another person to operate said vehicle. I learned all about pneumatics (air brake) systems for trains, buses and trucks long before I got behind the wheels of any. Anybody can read up on how to do anything and pass a required multiple choice test, -but hands on training is another thing altogether. Many people quite often flunk the hands on or field training tests. So if the lady in the video (Heather) has already acquired experience in driving a 43’ RV and now feels confident enough graduating up to a 45’, I’d say leave her alone and let the lady continue learn while she’s training (it’s a life long endeavor anyway). It’s obvious her husband or partner has instructed her in safe RV driving -of which I’d bet females are way more careful at -too, than males are. Everybody doesn’t struggle to learn how to operate an air brake equipped vehicle. Why, it’s just air brakes for goodness sakes. Pre-trip inspections are not just native to large and or air brake equipped vehicles. No, most school districts always did require both a “pre” and “aft” trip inspection of their buses and or just vehicles period. With semi-tractor-trailers there’s always an added “post” trip inspection, because loads have to settle-in and can shift around along the journey. It seems to me like certain folks want to make life just as complicated and or if not harder for other folks as it was for themselves. CDLs’ are not needed because of air brakes -or size of vehicle- as many non air system vehicles require a CDL. You may need a CDL for operating a vehicle for commercial commerce purposes. Just like a chauffeur license is a type of CDL but of course with the appropriate endorsement(s). Some states require both a CL and CDL to just commercially chauffeur people around. I hope the authorities that be never-ever require neither a CL nor a CDL to operate a private non commercial RV, and it don’t matter whether it’s a train, plane, boat or locomotive train; as long as it’s being safely operated correctly. 🤫😇😷🙏🏾🚎🚚🚜🏍🚁🛩🚂🛳

Nice! -- QUESTION -- That was great - what an awesome RV. With that Detroit Diesel, what would your highway cruising MPG be at 55 mo/h also what would it be at 60 and at 65 mph? Just want to get a feel for it at different speeds as I heard that higher speeds hurt mpg a lot. FINAL question, is it possible to install new technology such as adaptive cruise control or even better, lane keep assist sensors? Is there anything like that?

Tip or tilt the back of the chair forward it gives your back more support . In turn will give you more control of the vehicle. You will be more relaxed during a long drive. Keep on Truckin'👍👍

@@midlifeprevost1182 - From my days as a bus driver training instructor, ergonomically, the seating position that is the least invasive on your body is three right angles: a vertical line from your ear thru your shoulder to your hips, your thighs horizontal, and your lower legs vertical with your feet flat on the floor while stationary and adjusting your driver's seat. Obviously, your right leg will not be vertical while operating the pedals, but the closer to vertical the better. Oh, one other quick point: Always, always, ALWAYS keep the palms of your hands facing the steering wheel, NEVER reach through and grab with your palms up. Should a wheel catch a rut or chuck hole, the wheel can kick back and potentially break your wrist.

Was really thinking about Newmar but after all these videos I’m really thinking about a Prevost! I believe you said this is a 2003 which makes it much more economical to get into it and it’s just like a house you can gut the whole thing or just upgrade what you want to? Also able to upgrade some of the Prevost functions that maybe outdated? I think I heard at the end of the video.

Great job. I am a CDL instructor (former OTR) and I have a 45' dual axle freightliner cab party (limo on steroids) bus I drive. These buses are harder to drive than the tractor trailer combos. Another great vid Andrew and as always stay safe and give Sadie some love for me.

A "Prevost" is the Scalade of all motor coaches. I've been a commercial driver for over 30 years. And I'm very familiar with: Prevost, Van Hools, MCi's, dual air braking system, including the Thelma braking system they need to be aware of.. In addition to the tag axle, turning in the opposite direction as you turn left or right to accommodate your turns.. I wouldn't mind coming over and do a proper behind the wheel training.. on these Coaches

I’m a commercial driver I’ve driven everything from school bus, motor coaches, Entertainer motor coaches with mega trailers and semi trucks and this is a prime reason why I think those that own buses of this size should have a CDL and a minimum of training requirement. If you notice in this video he was saying you need to make sure your air pressure is up and working properly and she was worried about the seatbelt. When she was making her left-hand turn she was looking forward but she never looked in her mirrors to see if her rear with hit a sign or pole when she swung to the left. These are not big RVs these are buses that way a minimum 50,000 or more pounds

Been driving practically every thing , from MOTORHOME, with a 53 foot trailer, extended hood W900 large Sleeper, 53 foot trailer, for years, and last week gotta drive a diesel pusher. It needed to go to the shop in south Florida, 45 foot. Never driven one, so my friend asked me if I could take it from Daytona to south Florida, yep I said. Absolutely was easier than I thought.

I agree with you! It is always good to have two people that know how to drive the rig, never know when you’re needed to drive it. It can be very daunting but there are people who can help with the learning. We don’t have a rig of any size & never drove the van with the tent trailer, but am going to learn to drive our next configuration, I’ve started to boost my confidence over it! When looking at rigs, test drive it, just like the smaller vehicles, some drive easier than others. Thanks for this video, you rocked it!

Great job !! I remember my first time driving a prevost and it was quite a trip. Tampa to Sacramento in 3 days and it was really fun. It made me a believer in large coaches such as a prevost with the great ride.

It is not a commerical vehicle it is a privately own vehicle. But training is needed to operate them.

Court, Heather and Andrew, you guys are killing me. While I love our Dynasty, a Prevost conversion is definitely top on my want list for our next coach. Watching this isn’t helping any. 😜 Andrew, like Court, I like to coast as it’s my favorite “gear” for economy. I didn’t like the immediate downshift and activation of the engine compression brake. I wired in a normally open switch as a foot pedal like the earlier Jake brakes used so I can control when the compression braking activates and I can coast. It may be something you want to look in to. Great video and love your guys’ coach. Mike

The steering wheel looks just like the steering wheel from a j4500 .either way this prevost sounds nice and to drive a beast like that whether om the highway ,city streets or even in some type of lot or yard that is darn impressive

On the subject of the transmission brake. Keep an eye on the trans temp. If operating any were there a long downgrade. The trans temp dill climb very quickly to a point that you can cause damage.
Buses are surprisingly easy to drive. I imagine a million dollar coach like that one handles like a dream.

Good job Heather. I was going to drive trucks coast to coast or local runs after military even got 100% correct answers on Virginia CDL exam. Just never followed up with getting license. Should have got myself one of the Provost coaches when it first crossed my mind. I only pull into truck stops or gas stations I can pull straight through without having to make any difficult maneuvers even guys in Miatas think they don’t have to move. I mean you be doing a small turn guy be like I want a new car because you crushed the aluminum can I was driving. I live near a church I was once debating paving the lot with one stipulation I could used the lot to get coach turned around if I came home approaching the from north and needed to get into my drive way. I mean I can swing out into other lane and make right turn into my driveway but not trying to rollover or buy somebody a Miata because they not paying attention to me. I jump into left lane to turn right they see my blinkers but they don’t care they be like I can still make it even if I decide to start the right turn. Next thing you know they be like you saw me alongside of you and now they want next years newest Cadillac and they were driving a 1974 Pinto.

Honestly let’s just face it, and the reality is that some people -(whether male or female) are/were born with a high motor skill predisposition...and superior performance of motor skills. Some were born with it, others acquired it through early on the farm training as kids...then still some or probably most attending some type of vocational training. I started driving my dad’s car out on the highway at eleven (11) years old - sitting on telephone books, and drove my granddaddy’s John Deere tractor at an even earlier age. Even though I’ve been driving since I was a kid, I didn’t get my official state license until I was in college at 21years of age. I studied for my CDL, drove 18-wheelers, church buses and RV motor homes. I share all this to say that anybody who already has an experience and how to operate any type of vehicle, can train another person to operate said vehicle. I learned all about pneumatics (air brake) systems for trains, buses and trucks long before I got behind the wheels of any. Anybody can read up on how to do anything and pass a required multiple choice test, -but hands on training is another thing altogether. Many people quite often flunk the hands on or field training tests. So if the lady in the video (Heather) has already acquired experience in driving a 43’ RV and now feels confident enough graduating up to a 45’, I’d say leave her alone and let the lady continue learn while she’s training (it’s a life long endeavor anyway). It’s obvious her husband or partner has instructed her in safe RV driving -of which I’d bet females are way more careful at -too, than males are. Everybody doesn’t struggle to learn how to operate an air brake equipped vehicle. Why, it’s just air brakes for goodness sakes. Pre-trip inspections are not just native to large and or air brake equipped vehicles. No, most school districts always did require both a “pre” and “aft” trip inspection of their buses and or just vehicles period. With semi-tractor-trailers there’s always an added “post” trip inspection, because loads have to settle-in and can shift around along the journey. It seems to me like certain folks want to make life just as complicated and or if not harder for other folks as it was for themselves. CDLs’ are not needed because of air brakes -or size of vehicle- as many non air system vehicles require a CDL. You may need a CDL for operating a vehicle for commercial commerce purposes. Just like a chauffeur license is a type of CDL but of course with the appropriate endorsement(s). Some states require both a CL and CDL to just commercially chauffeur people around. I hope the authorities that be never-ever require neither a CL nor a CDL to operate a private non commercial RV, and it don’t matter whether it’s a train, plane, boat or locomotive train; as long as it’s being safely operated correctly. 🤫😇😷🙏🏾🚎🚚🚜🏍🚁🛩🚂🛳

Heather did great, I was anxious and super nervous when I drove my 38ft class A for the first time. I still don’t really like driving it through the city.

Nice! -- QUESTION -- That was great - what an awesome RV. With that Detroit Diesel, what would your highway cruising MPG be at 55 mo/h also what would it be at 60 and at 65 mph? Just want to get a feel for it at different speeds as I heard that higher speeds hurt mpg a lot. FINAL question, is it possible to install new technology such as adaptive cruise control or even better, lane keep assist sensors? Is there anything like that?

Tip or tilt the back of the chair forward it gives your back more support . In turn will give you more control of the vehicle. You will be more relaxed during a long drive. Keep on Truckin'👍👍

@@midlifeprevost1182 - From my days as a bus driver training instructor, ergonomically, the seating position that is the least invasive on your body is three right angles: a vertical line from your ear thru your shoulder to your hips, your thighs horizontal, and your lower legs vertical with your feet flat on the floor while stationary and adjusting your driver's seat. Obviously, your right leg will not be vertical while operating the pedals, but the closer to vertical the better. Oh, one other quick point: Always, always, ALWAYS keep the palms of your hands facing the steering wheel, NEVER reach through and grab with your palms up. Should a wheel catch a rut or chuck hole, the wheel can kick back and potentially break your wrist.

Was really thinking about Newmar but after all these videos I’m really thinking about a Prevost! I believe you said this is a 2003 which makes it much more economical to get into it and it’s just like a house you can gut the whole thing or just upgrade what you want to?
