  • Lesson my dad taught me: the odds are 10million to one that there will be someone on your plane that's smuggled a bomb on. And the odds are 10trillion to one that there will be two people on board that have smuggled bombs on. So, to be a lot safer - take your own bomb!

      @user-ee4xp9zo6z@user-ee4xp9zo6z7 ай бұрын
    • There are no such thing as "safest seats" those statistics give out illusion of that. Because most dangerous part of the flight is landing/taking off, during those times back of the plane indeed is the most safest point. (For the simple reason it is the last part to impact on anything) But it all depends on the crash itself, on some crashes the safest area is the middle and some other it is the front. Middle where the wings are, is structurally the strongest part, but you also sit over the fuel tanks.

  • He actually breaks "racism" or more general "prejudice" down perfectly at 07:00 . Our ancestors in the jungle were "long living racists" because the "woke" people had a much higher chance of being killed when being wrong. If you are correct with the worst assumption only 10% of the time, but the consequence of being incorrect is death, it might be good advice to still assume the worst. And this is also true about quickly needing to decide with what group to side in a conflict (to not be killed). So basically: Our ancestors left us a legacy of racism that is in our DNA. And our job is now to make the best of it and not letting it ruin everyone's lives by submitting to our inherent racism. It's not bad to have racist thoughts, it's bad to act (solely) on them.

    @DerKiesch@DerKiesch6 ай бұрын
    • What do "our ancestors in the jungle" have to do with racism? There weren't other races there at all, it were the same biological species and race but neighboring tribes/clans who killed each other and took away their belongings. it's just the recognition "friend or foe" that mattered. The same thing btw the "woke people" are doing now, more agressively than the normal ones. And no, the ancestors on the trees weren't long living at all 🤣

My friend who i visited had gotten the ticket in advance and scheduled it, i payed him when i got there as his frequent flier mikes got him ( me) a good deal, but when he says to me the ticket was only a couple hundred dollars i was in disbelief. But when i found out the date......it all made sense. Talk about nervous and all ten of us looking at each other with pure suspicious fear the whole flight. Easy to laugh about now but .....i guess i am a glutton for punishment!!. It was too easy to pay a little more and fly a different day. But its pure fate , bad luck and completely out of your control when u fly. Not a whole hell of a lot you can do to increase your odds other than not flying at all.. imagine the damage u would suffer if in a car at 100 mph u smashed into a wall. Well put yourself in a aluminum can , go 5 times faster. Drop from 5 miles in the sky and ...hit the earth . Imagine if u dare just not before vacation .

  • Had some friends who were scared of flying because planes always crash so they went on a cruise and the boat sank....a plane hit it

  • I'm not sure why people make the argument that the back seats are the safest because they impact last. According to Google, the average speed of a Boeing 747 is ~575 mph, which translates to slightly more than 843 feet per second. Apparently the average Boeing 747 is also slightly more than 250 feet. This all means assuming it crashed into something at cruising speed, it would go from the head of the plane to the tail in under 0.3 seconds. Basically just enough time to realize what's about to happen, but not enough time to actually do anything about it.

We understand them , too, in every way except sometimes when they talk with what sound like extreme cockney ! 😅 But I sometimes don't understand fellow Amis with extreme southern accents. 😂 ❤

    • @@carpballetThe one I can vaguely recall, Amis are an Austronesian ethnic group (I think they're also called Pangchah? Or Pangcah?) Which means they speak one of the Austronesian languages, which is probably not one natively spoken by the Australians, but like Malaysians understand Indonesians I guess. We dont speak the same exact language, but we do understand each other to a certain extent.
