He scored the same points as Marcus Smart during that stretch. • His point was legit though. If giannis has to guard Tatum near the 3pt line he can't guard the paint as efficiently as usual. Not to mention he can't play help defense nor sag off to block shots because that leaves Tatum wide open. Honestly their best bet is to put giannis at center and leave either Middleton or another big on Tatum with the main objective of staying close to him.

      @kingrodney441@kingrodney4412 жыл бұрын
    • Should be a good series. Boston won't be able to bully Giannis like they did Durant. And the Bucks, unlike Brooklyn, are a team with lots of playoff experience together. And Giannis, not Durant, has been the best player in the league for probably the last 2-3 seasons. It certainly helps the Celtics having home court now, which Milwaukee acquiesced to in the final game of the year. I think that will be enough to swing the series in favor of Boston, especially if Timelord returns to form soon. I expect this one to go at least 6, but then again, I thought that about Brooklyn too😂

    • @@onestopfunstop317 it gets put on KD because of what he left to go to this mess. this crew is former players and in the case of chuck and Shaq, Former all time greats. They know KD is one of the best players in the world but especially with chuck he didnt have serious talent around him and yet he probably wouldnt have gotten swept by this celtics team. And chuck knows KD is better than what he was. They just hold him to a different standard. And he left the warriors and Russ w/ OKC. And for what play with a guy who cant take leadership over his actions, uses every excuse in the book to not play, and then the guy alienates James Harden to the point he wants out too. Kyrie is a team cancer at this point. The celtics were good back in what 2016-17. Kyrie joined, they got worse somehow even tho every person on earth would take Kyrie over IT. Kyrie left and lebron got no serious replacement of his production and Bron went to the finals still. Kyrie is amazing but he doesnt play winnin basketball. His defense on a good night is mediocre at best. He isnt like Steph where he is actually a decent rebounding guard that you wouldnt expect. Has kyrie every led his team in rebounds for a single game? Ive seen steph do it a good amount of times, now usually that means the warriors are either losing or draymond is just hurt. Kyrie is legitimately a scoring point. Who honestly doesnt even involve his teammates too much when James was on the team he led the nets in assists. Kyrie is a good second mate to a guy who is ok with doing the dirty work and taking all the blame and just wants kyrie to do his role. KD isnt that guy though, he also needs a guy who is willing to take the criticism and mental strain. Guys like Chris Paul, Draymond, Bron, (used to be Russ not as much now, he is allowing media to ruffle his feathers too much now)

    • ESPN has made poor decisions the past decade. I've noticed management chose Trump over Jemele Hill! I'm still having a hard time accepting that choice. One of my favorite ESPN shows was "His & Hers". When they (management) decided to move Michael Smith and Jemele Hill to Sports Center at 6 pm eastern time. They took everything I loved about His & Hers away from what Michael and Jemele did best. I seriously believe their show was sabotaged. Since then, I've stopped watching ESPN. That channel has taken all the character out of the programming.

  • This wasn't so much a changing of the guard as it was confirmation the guard has changed. The play where Tatum is backing in at the elbow and KD just watches from 3 feet away as he turns his defender and scores is honestly tragic. Celtics played harder and deserved this. Brooklyn...what a waste of a playoff spot.

  • Lack of leadership, lack of total commitment, lack of trust. The Nets don't play well as a team, it is reflected in their porous defence, KD and Kyrie are premier offensive players but are, at best, average on defence which requires more selflessness and they are demonstrably weak leaders, which is reflected in the second tier team defensive effort. Simmons, if he will amount to anything requires support and leadership - this is still a big if, and I can't think of KD and Kyrie as worse examples of the leadership he needs. Veterans hoping for a shot at a ring have options (among the possible veteran driven teams LeBron's Lakers, CP3's Suns, Curry's Warriors), why choose the Nets Hardin abandoned the sinking vessel because he knew the flaws, you can't trust the teams commitment to play hard at any cost, especially Kyrie Irving and likely Simmons. Any veteran player who could bring real leadership will not be welcome (KD left Curry to have his team, Kyrie left LeBron, to a degree Simmons abandoned the 76ers, Embiid and the 'joint-leaders' that seemed to be the initial design of that team). Of all the big US sports Basketball is the most individually driven but this abysmal performance and embarrassing outcome demonstrates that it is still ultimately a team game. The Nets are a poor team, with selfish and troublesome players, where the star players have been hostile to leadership and coaching.
