    • Your right! This happens many times every year. It's a complete lack of concentration on scoring the touchdown, and a 100% concentration on how they are going to celebrate. So they start the celebration before the touchdown.

    • @@HumbertoYi0878 It's learned behaviour. Look at "successful" people in the world, the biggest part is not their performance but how they market their performance. In other words, their celebration. Musk can lose billions of dollars, but as long as he claims to win, his fans will stick with him. Trump loses an election, but by claiming he's won it, his bootlickers follow him blindly. Our entire world - and it starts with the boomer generation - is teaching kids these days: a) it's more important how it looks than how it is, b) performance doesn't matter, as long as people like it and c) if you get caught lying, just keep on lying no matter what.

    • I think these top athletes have an ability to "see" into the future a second or so. Not literally of course but they have a certain kind of vision to predict where things will be. And this goes wrong when their brain assumes they are already well into the end zone when they haven't yet reached it

      @AndrewIsbell@AndrewIsbell Жыл бұрын
    • @@AndrewIsbell I get what you're saying. I also can't imagine what it's like to score on such a high level, but I'd assume that it's very difficult to think rationally at that moment. There's a lot of instances of early celebration failures in different sports and I'd like to hear from the athletes on how they felt about it.

      @RonDonProductions@RonDonProductions Жыл бұрын
    • @@AndrewIsbell I was never on this level, but I wrestled for a long time. I knew when I had a kid beat and would sometimes let my guard down before the ref would call it. That was at like year 5 or so of wrestling, so I was just starting to get good. I think with every sport you get good enough in there's a period of learning good habits while winning. Plus these dudes definitely get tunnel vision when the goal is in sight and nobody's there to stop them, and adrenaline probably keeps them from realizing.

    @NeekoFreeman@NeekoFreeman Жыл бұрын
    • Yes exactly what you said is true, Indiana only had 1 timeout left, so if you get the first and go down they have to burn the timeout. Then you just take a knee which burns about 40 seconds each knee and takes off about 120 seconds. Then kick the field goal. Would’ve left Indiana with about 20 seconds and no timeouts and since you go up by 4 they have to get on the touchdown to win. Gurleys td gave them a minute 40 to go down the field and score with a 2pt conversion to tie

      @taquaywhite4503@taquaywhite4503 Жыл бұрын
    • @@taquaywhite4503 That wasnt the todd gurley play just FYI since you mentioned gurley. I do also think in that case on 1st down he may have been advantagous to go down like 1 yard shy of the 1st down marker even since it burns the timeout and then a 1st down on 2nd or 3rd and 1 could win you the game without even having to give it back.

  • I don't get the dropping of the ball before crossing into the end zone. First you make sure you break the plane of the end zone, carrying the ball across, and whatever you do after that doesn't matter. So many athletes celebrate their sure win right before they cross the line and lose the point / race right there because the person coming behind them wasn't thinking of celebrating they were busy actually winning the thing. 'The trophies are handed out at the finish line' but first you have to cross the line.

    @jmoa5634@jmoa5634 Жыл бұрын
    • If you're talking the Penn State vs Indiana, then yes. Penn State is up by 1 point and Indiana only has 1 time out with 1:40 left. If he just waits to go down at the like 1 or 2 yard line they drain time left and the 1 time out isn't going to be enough to get them a turnover on downs Penn State could just let the clock drain. By getting the field goal they're now up 8 (if they get the field goal) but Indiana has the ball and a chance (though slight) of getting a touchdown into 2 point conversion to tie.

      @BallsVR14@BallsVR14 Жыл бұрын
    • @@cryo9216 a touchback doesn't get you any points. You take possession at the 20 or 25 yardline, depending on the level you're playing at. Two points comes from a safety. That occurs at the other end zone. The defense has to tackle an offensive player in possession of the ball while in their own end zone or the offensive player with the ball runs out of bounds within their own end zone, either on their own or being forced by the defense. A fumble or snap that goes out of bounds within the offense's end zone also counts as a safety as do offensive penalties that occur within their own end zone, most commonly intentional grounding.

  • 5:55 How was Michigan 8-3 and not even ranked when OSU was 9-2 and ranked #9? Did Michigan lose the last 3 games in a row or something?

  • What was the issue with the pen state vs Indiana touchdown? Wouldn’t that be a good thing? Why did they want him to go down at the goal line?

    @andylamm8634@andylamm8634 Жыл бұрын
    • Run much more time off the clock. It was the end of the game and they were ahead with the ball. It was first and 10. If he goes down before the first down line then you could win with converting the first down since Indiana would burn last timeout and you have 2 more plays(2nd and 3rd down) to run clock down and try and convert the 1st which would end the game if converted a few downs later then a few kneel downs. Even if he goes down after the first down marker you still burn their timeout and have 3 running plays to chew the clock further down so even if you do give the ball back its with no timeout and much less time.

  • I don't understand how some players could be so ridiculous and foolish to drop the ball before breaking the line. If I was the coach I would tell them to not drop the ball until they run out the back of the endzone if they're going to be that more onic

  • Actually technically the ruling of the Justin Blackmon fumble was incorrect. That should have been ruled out of bounds and Ok St ball. Yes he fumbled. But before it touched down out of bounds he downed it by being out and touching it. If he didn’t down it then yes touchback would have been correct. Interesting play.
