Dude, I'm a life long Vols fan so I'm well aware of how it always goes for Tennessee. They don't just lose, they'll make you think they're going to win or do something special and then completely sh*t the bed. Every Saturday we kept winning. We beat Pitt, then Florida, then LSU, and then Alabama. And the whole time I was reminding everyone that we're still Tennessee but everyone kept saying, "this is our year!" And after we lost to Georgia they all said, "well, Georgia is the best team in the country. They beat everyone. We'll only lose 1 game and still get in the playoffs". Then we blew out Missouri and they said, "see, I told you so. This is our year! All we have to do is beat South Carolina and Vanderbilt and we're in!" I tried to tell them we're liable to get beaten by both of them because we're still Tennessee, but nobody would believe me. And then we went to Columbia... 😂

They're not irrelevant. Preseason polls are BAD, but they shape the way the rankings progress. UF, Kentucky, and Arkansas were all in the Top 12 or so early in the year because of UF beating Utah. It's why the SEC has so many titles: half of the teams are ranked highly preseason so when they lose, it doesn't hurt much and when they win, it shoots them up in the rankings. I'm pretty sure a 6-6 App State team made it into the Top 25 and stole Gameday because they beat that awful TAMU team. This year especially the polls have been awful, even now after the CCGs.

Well I mean, Bryce Young had proven himself clutch before many times, it's just that Tennessee team had the one-on-ones they wanted and knew Hyatt could burn anyone one-on-one. It was so stupid seeing Saban not try to keep two guys in coverage on the ONE guy they HAD to keep an extra guy on.

Seeing Washington beating MSU as an upset in this vid really shows how useless preseason polls are, and it shows why games are played on the field. Regardless of analytics and experts predictions, anything can happen on the field. What a season its been.

Florida winning in The Swamp over Utah was an upset. Never thought I'd see that. Also, that stretch where App State, Marshall, and Georgia Southern all pulled those monster upsets...damn it was a good time to be in the Sun Belt.

Kansas State and South Carolina were the highlight of this video. Two teams who seemingly gave it all they had week in, week out. Both could’ve easily ended up Top 10 if some things fell in their favor earlier in the year. Both team’s finished their seasons in style🙌

Started the season off so great by beating Utah then immediately lost to UK and struggled vs USF in the next 2 weeks, lost to Vandy later in the year, and had our backup QB arrested for explicit material of children. What a year

the ut game i called. i nearly even had score right i was going 49-45 or 45 42. i fiugred last second field goal or touchdown everybody's like yeah right. even tn fans thought we were at least one more year away from competing with alabama. but i knew if tn could keep it close we had a chance. the only thing tn did that i thought that could (should?) have changed the game was early in first half. i think it was alabama's first or second possesion. so it was real early. bama's back up to their own goal line practically. bama quarterback if he didn't run out the back of the end zone on a scramble he came real close. my question is if it's challengable (which it might not have been since it wasn't called) why didn't ut. i get it's early in the game you don't want to lose your challenge that early (which i assume played into it) but if he'd run out of the endzone that changes the rest of the game. tn's up 9 instead of 7. changes every touchdown every field goal every attempt for 2. i get it you don't want to lose a challenge 4-5 minutes into a game, and not even sure it was challengable, but do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yeah it's a cheap 2 points but it was close. oh yeah and bama U SUCK1 AND NOW FOR MY OTHER BEEF WITH this video and the season. florida wins an "upset" the first week of the season, ok it's agiant top 10 team, yeah they're unranked. but jump to 12? that's a minimum of 14 poistions on one win. and over at least 4 teams that oh yeah hadn't lost. (including tn). come on poll people. jump inside top 25 sure. top 20 ok if around 18-20. move everybody back that lost and hadn't played that week fine. jump them ahead of 4 teams that didn't lose? and then wonder why people odn't even think poll's should count till ate least week 4-8. cause how'd florida do the rest of hte year? oh yeah got beat. alot . and ddin't finihs in the top 25. way to go poll people u really got that right. congratulations. of course that's not even dealing with the bullshit that's well bama is number one deal with it every year. oh they didn't win their conference/ yeah put them in the final four anyways. they don't win that because they don't even deserve to be there? oh that's ok we'll start them #1 next year and we'll fix it somehow. 8-10 years in a row they start the year #1 in a row and at least 3 they dind't win the championship one they didn't even play in final four and one year they made final four despite not even playing for the conference championship. i'm glad it's expanding though not sure 12 is right number. but this still isn't the ncaa tournament with at large bids. you dont' play for your conference championshpi (even if i'ts on a tie breaker and you both have same amount of losses) how do you deserve to play for the championship? you're not even the best team in your conference stupid! oh but it's bama it's ok! no because guess what? they kicked out 3 teams that did play for their conference champs and won them. and if you do that u got to apply it to ut. uf, georgia, everybody else. and you won't do that so you don't get to to bama. and no i don't care they won the championship that year. they didn't deserve to be there and everybody knew it. the fact they won anyways proves nothing.

Preseason rankings are utterly ridiculous. Makes little sense. Writers can't gauge how good a team is going to be before they even play a game. Look at a number of these highly ranked preseason teams shown here that turned out to be terrible: A&M, Mich State, Oklahoma, ND, Ole Miss. Shouldn't be rankings before week 5 or 6, but ofc tv networks need to sell matchups to advertisers.

They're not irrelevant. Preseason polls are BAD, but they shape the way the rankings progress. UF, Kentucky, and Arkansas were all in the Top 12 or so early in the year because of UF beating Utah. It's why the SEC has so many titles: half of the teams are ranked highly preseason so when they lose, it doesn't hurt much and when they win, it shoots them up in the rankings. I'm pretty sure a 6-6 App State team made it into the Top 25 and stole Gameday because they beat that awful TAMU team. This year especially the polls have been awful, even now after the CCGs.

That Bama Tennessee game was by far the craziest game all season, truly felt like the end of the Nick Saban era
Well I mean, Bryce Young had proven himself clutch before many times, it's just that Tennessee team had the one-on-ones they wanted and knew Hyatt could burn anyone one-on-one. It was so stupid seeing Saban not try to keep two guys in coverage on the ONE guy they HAD to keep an extra guy on.
Seeing Washington beating MSU as an upset in this vid really shows how useless preseason polls are, and it shows why games are played on the field. Regardless of analytics and experts predictions, anything can happen on the field. What a season its been.

Kansas State and South Carolina were the highlight of this video. Two teams who seemingly gave it all they had week in, week out. Both could’ve easily ended up Top 10 if some things fell in their favor earlier in the year. Both team’s finished their seasons in style🙌

the ut game i called. i nearly even had score right i was going 49-45 or 45 42. i fiugred last second field goal or touchdown everybody's like yeah right. even tn fans thought we were at least one more year away from competing with alabama. but i knew if tn could keep it close we had a chance. the only thing tn did that i thought that could (should?) have changed the game was early in first half. i think it was alabama's first or second possesion. so it was real early. bama's back up to their own goal line practically. bama quarterback if he didn't run out the back of the end zone on a scramble he came real close. my question is if it's challengable (which it might not have been since it wasn't called) why didn't ut. i get it's early in the game you don't want to lose your challenge that early (which i assume played into it) but if he'd run out of the endzone that changes the rest of the game. tn's up 9 instead of 7. changes every touchdown every field goal every attempt for 2. i get it you don't want to lose a challenge 4-5 minutes into a game, and not even sure it was challengable, but do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yeah it's a cheap 2 points but it was close. oh yeah and bama U SUCK1 AND NOW FOR MY OTHER BEEF WITH this video and the season. florida wins an "upset" the first week of the season, ok it's agiant top 10 team, yeah they're unranked. but jump to 12? that's a minimum of 14 poistions on one win. and over at least 4 teams that oh yeah hadn't lost. Preseason rankings are utterly ridiculous. Makes little sense. Writers can't gauge how good a team is going to be before they even play a game. Look at a number of these highly ranked preseason teams shown here that turned out to be terrible: A&M, Mich State, Oklahoma, ND, Ole Miss. Shouldn't be rankings before week 5 or 6, but ofc tv networks need to sell matchups to advertisers.
