    • Bear Bryant caused a rule change in college football by using tear-away jerseys with an extra one carried in the player's pants. If his jersey gets destroyed by an attempted tackle during the play, he can pull out the extra and put it on before the next snap and never miss a play. The rules now require the player to be out for a play or his team call timeout if a jersey gets destroyed.

I watch a fair bit of it and it seems to me you do not see as many trick plays in the NFL as you do in college football. I may be wrong lol . I live in Australia we have Rugby league here where we play with a similar shaped ball each team in possession gets a number of tackles or as you say plays before kicking it away but we cannot throw it forward .

  • I’d like to see an offensive lineman throw a pass. I have never seen it happen, and with the quarterback being an eligible receiver (has to be at least 1 yard behind the center in the NFL), if he were to pitch it to a lineman, then such a play would give the lineman 6 eligible receivers to throw to.
