The Supreme Court needs a major, long overdue overhaul, because the MAGA justices have perverted the legal system in order to amalgamate power to a point where they are purposely misreading the Constitution. If we win big in November, I am hoping Senator Whitehouse will begin his planned legislation to shove the extreme right on the bench back into their corner or remove them outright. Justice Thomas has flouted his recusal responsibilities in order to use his not inconsiderable weight to cases in which he has a direct interest. His conduct in particular has stunk to high heaven ever since he was appointed despite the fact that he sexually harassed women in his practice, as spelled out by Anita Hill during his confirmation hearings. We have got to find a way to break the grip of the Federalist Society on our legal system, backed financially by billionaires to further their own interests, or we will be legislated into fascism. Just review Judge Aline Cannon’s reprehensible conduct and rulings in tRump’s secret documents case, if you don’t believe me.

It's a hard decision but sometimes that does happen, hopefully your man (if you have one) doesn't have to ever make that choice. I know because my husband had to make that very difficult choice for us. Either the baby would die or I would die because I was only 26 weeks pregnant and sadly as it turned out our baby only lived for two minutes and he passed away, he would have turned 39 years in May and still to this day it hurts.

I was just talking to some of my friends in TN and mentioned 'it feels like no matter how hard those of us in Alabama try, we can never make progress in flipping from red to blue, so anyone trying loses hope and gives up and simply moves to a more liberal state'. The problem with electing justices is that the vast majority of people have no real understanding of how the law works and almost no understanding of its history (which is absolutely vital to understand). You HAVE to have excellent legal minds that high up. We've gotten where we are now by McConnell making up rules as he went just so Obama wouldn't have another selection and then allowing the dumbest man ever to hold office to squeeze in what, four? It's not good either way, but Trump is an example of what happens when the people choosing the Justices haven't got a clue. I think term limits would be a lot better in the long run.
There certainly needs to be a better way to appoint them! Current method means Executive branch also controls Judicial branch! Same applies at lower levels too - with equivalent 'corruption of views'!
Very concerning is not only the restrictions on abortions but some of the states going so far as to interfere in real medical life and death situations, travel bans, criminal charges against doctors and patients, forcing a child or woman to carry a rapist's baby to term, forcing a woman to continue a pregnancy where the fetus has died, etc.
The GQPs want everyone to forget they overturned roe vs wade they want us all to forget their IVF ruling, WE WILL NOT FORGET .

I can't figure out if that's deliberate contradiction and hypocrisy or if they're really that clueless. As an Australian who can have abortions and IVF programs subsidised by our public health system I'm just incredulous when I see stuff like that being said seriously. The American Republican Party is a train wreck.
To be accurate, most Republicans scrambled to defend IVF when that court decision came down, because they know even their own base supports IVF. The whole fiasco shows their lack of forethought about what they’re doing and their lack of sincerity about their arguments (if they really believed the “life begins at conception” rhetoric, they would oppose IVF, as large numbers of fertilized embryos are discarded in the process).
It's also amazing that they block universal health care, paid maternity leave, higher minimum wages, more union rights and tighter gun laws all of which could help families to have and raise healthy children.
