You guys do realize that state laws cannot be used to prosecute federal election violations, right? You also realize that misdemeanors are not felonies, especially after the statute of limitations.

Tax evasion is still a crime, even if the election interference angle isn’t accepted by the jury. Trump could have just written checks from his own account, and not have to have explained it to anyone. But he chose to run it through Trump Org’s books, to claim the tax break.
