@@wet0wl Well, some players did try to manually mod the human class not long ago. They started more subtly by introducing intentional spawn choice selection, which had the intended effect of limiting the presence of higher melanin based players in the north America server from the early 20th century through today. And a couple of decades later, a small tribe of players in the European server applied a more aggressive version of this strategy to a certain faction of religious players to gain more control. Both are techniques to limit power threats by other players by limiting their spawn rates, and are highly unethical play styles. Odd thing is, while the community has called out and banded together to stamp out the latter, no one seems to care about the former which will grief way more players than even the latter. So, we really need to be careful about intentionally modding characters. Some players who are way too into "winning" the game by eliminating other players to gain power instead of letting everyone play by their own play style would misuse it. Also, player guilds have been warning about a climate-based balance patch for decades but it's mostly just ended up being a way for those guilds to get more site traffic, and I'm not sure why any players keep buying into the hype that never comes.

However, that would require humans to desire mates based off of intelligence; which is currently a deterrent, to humanity's detriment, especially in females, who could use the trait to massive advantage.

You forgot to state, however that the bat is a really meta defining build - since it is the only thing keeping the insect player base from skyrocketing and taking down almost the entire server.I feel like thats why bats are really important for the current state of the game 💜💜💜

@@GSBarlev don't tempt the human mains into bringing their advanced equipment, they have guns that shoot so fast it's easier to measure the cost of the ammo per minute instead. No matter how meta emus are they can't defend against that. As for the cockroaches and other friends I heard the humans have figured out how to change the code of life forms/build creating new ones. If they are pissed off enough they can create a hyper spreading disease that bans the builds they don't like.

On the pandemic disease scale this is pretty minor. At it's highest lethality it was 1/10, as opposed to Smallpox which was 1/3 with a higher R, and the Plague which capped at 1/2. Smallpox killed 200,000 Europeans on average annually in the Nineteenth Century, and 500,000,000 people in the twentieth.

This has caused it to mutate in different areas, such as the new strain found here in the UK. Small correction since the video came up, but micro and mega are no longer the correct terminology for these two classes of bat. They are now Yinpterochiroptera and Yangochiroptera. This is mostly because there were some species of microbat that turned out to be closer related to megabats than any other microbats despite still using echolocation and being insectovorious. Therefore, the micro and mega distinctions are no longer useful or correct. Another thing to mention about the viability of the Yinpterochiroptera that you also left out that may alter the standings. The first being that beetles (while having better armor) are a major food source for Yinpterochiroptera, so while they might be a good build, they are the prey of these bats. Secondly, their wing structure makes them exceptionally nimble and manueverable in the air, more so than birds would ever be. Third, bat wings are more durable than you may think. Their membranes can heal over time if punctured. Finally, is that while bats are resistant to disease, they are currently highly threatened by fungus players Pseudogymnoascus destructans, which cases a status effect called "White Nose Syndrome". These fungus players attack bats while they are hibernating over the winter, damaging their skin and forcing them to warm up, thus spending their stamina during a time when they need to conserve it. This can lead to almost 90% of colonies being wiped out in a single winter. This is a very serious danger for the player base, and needs to be addressed. Sincerely, A Bat Dataminer
You should really add a sensory stat in addition to the others, like how a player can detect their surroundings. For example, sharks would have a high sensory stat because they can sweep for prey, smell blood, and have okay eyesight, whereas humans have low sensory stats because we only have average sight and low hearing and smell compared to other animals.

As a bat PhD, I’d say really nice overview of their natural history. Worth noting that they really dont need defenses as all examples of bat predation are relatively rare. Also, with over 1400 species they are the second most successful group of mammals and probably functionally the most diverse. Also some of the most beneficial animals to have around, consuming tons of insects, pollinating many flowers and dispersing seeds to regenerate tropical rains forests. Finally, their wings are surprisingly strong and they routinely survive crashes in flight without injury. Punctures also heal over time, so I’d say this weakness is overblown. The heavy weight of their wings is also a unique feature that allows them their extraordinary maneuvering abilities.

We need an “Ant Tier List” because ants have a wide variety of strategies for attack, defense, utility, and nest construction. They also have very large party sizes ranging from 1,000 players and an astonishing 1,000,000,000 players. They respawn very quickly, so it is very difficult to completely eradicate a nest.

If you're going to credit the first bat that had covid with all the subsequent covid kills, then you would have to credit the first mosquito that transmitted malaria with all the malaria kills. I don't know how those stack up against the first rat/flea team that used the Black Death on the humans, though. In relative terms I think they're the winners based on the percentage of the human players that they managed to take out at the time. Covid hasn't made a noticeable dent in the number of active human players, but when the Black Death was part of the meta the human playerbase shrunk by 25%

Batman just has a great niche in the Gotham City server, the excess of criminals gives him plenty of exp. In any other city server, he wouldn't fit in with human guilds, and would be unable to use his vigilante tactics to their fullest.

He once had an echo fighter called the 'Rorschach' build, which was pretty effective and an absolute S-Tier, specially on his justice level. Sadly, it had a permaban from some depressed hacker who had pretty much dev. skills in the game (and even played at the Mars biome).
I love how TierZoo makes it seem like the world is a video game by making everything have stats and such, while at the same time teaching us about the animals in a more fun way than just an educational channel.

To be fair to bat mains, birds and bugs have had access to the flight ability for much longer and have had time to adjust their playstyles accordingly.
Also bats seem to monopolize a lot of the nocturnal niches, especially insectivorous ones, that's fully half of the average playthrough!

Tierzoo is so OP that I love watching and listening even when he’s just thanking his sponsors. They’re placed at the end and can easily be ignored (not like with other channels that have to sneak them into the intro and/or the middle), but are still so wonderfully creative that I stay for all of it. I just literally look forward to every second of every video, even spending up to 50% longer than the run time, rewinding often to consume every aspect (the game sounds, kill confirms, etc). I’d probably watch that same video entirely right away, or very soon afterwards. Thank you so much and I can’t wait to have my new player watch it as soon as she reaches the right level! ❤

Pathogen 🦠 mains really outdid themselves this time.
That's really how the devs have been doing it. Nerf humans by buffing one of their only real remaining counters for a while. Not the best way to nerf them though as the human playerbase often just bounces back.
Not as big as the Black Plague nerf at least
I just want to say, I got a good laugh out of TierZoo calling COVID-19 a "huge nerf to the human playerbase". It's been a source of misery on many levels, but a statement like that adds perspective to it all.
Not to mention the restrictions in travel and basicly everything else dropped most "extra deaths" to such low numbers that 2020 saw the lowest death percentage of any year in history. Well, assuming the lock downs stop and we dont get hundreds of millions of suicides.

The dude called 2020 a series of nerfs at the end, but isn't it more of a World Event? I mean it's not a one-and-done kind of thing, more of a Questline for the Healer factions. I even heard that just after the cure quest item was finally made, a new strain of the illness was found. That has to be the beginning of the second chapter of the story, right?

Not necessarily, immunity can vary over as the new strain is similar. A new strain won't (probably) be as big a problem as the first
Also, only the strongest builds make it out alive granted most of them get nerfed but they still make it out

I especially love the way you excecuted the concept and how much attention to detail you include in your vids (though at times I would also appreciate being able to spot all of your comedic genius without having to pause the vid xD) Was wondering if you'd be at all interested in creating a vid that focuses on the desert biome and the classes that are available there, how/where they get their exp sources and how they are specialized to deal with the harsh and dry environment (like how they can stand getting sand everywhere). Special bonus points if you take the time to distinguish between the desert biome on the American server and the African server. Also (and I suspect you will probably enjoy researching this last part the most) the potental expansion of these (African) classes to the European server through desertification in South-East Spain and how they would (be forced to?) adapt to the other classes they'll have to deal with on that server. Hell, if it interests you personally, I can see you make a whole mini-series out of this subject. But even just one vid would be very, very much appreciated. And if you don't, no biggy, not like I'm gonna stop watching these brilliants vids lol

I really needed this. Haven't been the biggest fan of bats lately, and I really needed something to remind myself how cool they are.
Just an interesting fact: In New Zealand, there are only 2 species of native land mammals which both are bats. They are also the only two bat species on the whole planet who can actually run on land because they barely had any natural enemies (I believe only the New Zealand falcon is it's natural enemy before humans started introducing a lot of possums/weasels, cats, dogs etc).
I kinda wish there was a “Animal Kingdom” mmo now, that runs just like this. Choose a server, a time period and start the round. The players evolve their species over the course of months and the round ends, the best records are displayed and you try again to optimize yourself. It’d be interesting to not only watch people try to imitate existing animals but potentially make new ones
It's not an mmo, but try spore. It is not nearly as varied in playstyles as this hypothetical Outside game, but it has a similar idea of evolving from a bacteria into an intelligent species.
@@waluigi3515 Yeah spore was sold as that, but didn't play out near 1/10 of what they promised. It does have some fun parts. People did get creative with what limits they had and made the best of it with impressive artworks. Could petition "no man's sky" to make something like that so they can populate their worlds with freaky stuff we make??

I just did a college entomology paper on Grote's bertholdia, the moth that has spec'd into sonar to jam the brown bats. Using your videos as a base, I related how the moth could be developed into a Pokemon so people can learn more about them.

So I know you probably won't see this, but as a teen that has previously hated zoology/biology these videos have really helped to open my mind towards these two subjects. You do an excellent job appealing to the younger generation by presenting this subject matter as if it were a video game. I am super interested in animals and living organisms now and god damn you managed to make TREES interesting. You took quite possibly (in my opinion) one of the most boring topics and managed to make me watch a 10 minute video on it. I am now seriously considering getting a degree in zoology (I think I would want to specialize in mammals, but reptiles and amphibians are also cool) because of how much passion I have for this stuff. You are awesome dude, and I am 100% positive you are inspiring a good amount of people to become zoologists when they grow up just like me. You are my favourite youtube channel, keep it up dude.

I already had an interest in zoology and biology, but this gave me motivation to do well in these subjects at school and in extra curricular activities, I'm glad to see that someone else has been affected by this amazing channel, and I hope you do well in these subjects, have a great weak and stay safe!

i like using that bat build either way , it has the flying ability and i find that better than the ground mobility , especially the disease carrying ability gives you the poison effect which is great when you put the right xp points in the right skills

Dude no joke im not kidding but during my first moments of conciosuness i had a charcter selction screen where i could pick my parents and what i look like. After I was done selecting the scrren zoomed in behind my new bodys head and i was conscious. Legit my first memory is a vidro game screen of character selection. My family thinks its just a daydream but it was my very first memory. I was 5 and sitting in a classroom as an indian in florida after that moment. It was so weird yet so surreal.
My first time playing I chose the rat since I thought that it was funny. I didn't get a chance to move! My mom ate me! Now I play the human and talk in chat with people.

There are so many beetle species, with thousands of different playstyles, you'd need to split it up between scarab beetles, ladybugs, assassin beetles, stink bugs etc.

I love your vids and am new to the channel. Idk if youve done this yet, but for april fools you should do a video on fake animals tier list. Jackalope, Sasquatch, loch Ness monster, etc etc. talk about their viability’s, play styles, benefits of the mythic lore ability. something like that might be fun to bring out some variety.

I think a lot of humans are demonstrating just how aggressively they can respond to fight things like viruses. Others are petulant children and willing to sacrifice others (and maybe themselves and their families) in enormous numbers because they can't handle not being personally pampered by others, and want to make sure they have no option but to do so.

Bit late to respond but yeah, the 2020 Q2 "Pandemic Free DLC" wasn't my favorite, arguably the worst meta the game has had in my lifetime. They let its endgame stay active on the server for wayyyyy too long, it would have been alright if it was over by late summer.

I know this is a joke but bat's eyesight (even microbats) are really good and some can argue that it's as good as humans. So, to them we are the blind ones since they can see as good as we do but can hear better and navigate better at dark because of their echolocation. I'm surprised that tier zoo didn't brought up this common misconception.
