  • Orca mains actually have started forming social groups. They choose to associate and breed with other orcas who share their favorite foods and activities, and they’ve even begun to diverge as a result. Orcas who like larger targets like seals tend to be bulkier, and orcas who like fish have become more slender and agile

    • Even more interesting facts about the orcas (I love them) is that only certain groups/sets of pods have the ability to do that. Like humans, different pods learnt to hunt different things and each new pod is constantly growing and evolving, learning to better take down their prey. The particular pod that was first known to hunt white sharks were COVERED in scares and rakes from shark tooth. Not even two decades later? A bite mark here or there. They're incredibly. Absolute shame we steal their calf's and put them in a tiny pool for the rest of their lives. Criminal.

Even the shark mains who have been spending evolution points on live births get offspring that are basically fully functional mini-mes. • There's a guild of orcas playing on the West Coast server that have found an exploit in the great white shark class. They've learned by performing a grab and inverting a shark, they can put it in a trance-like stun. Then, since great whites need to remain mobile to breathe, the orcas hold their opponent until they manage to perform the game-breaking feat of drowning a fish. The strat is so broken that as soon as other shark players detect shark liver in the water, they immediately quit the server.

    • I didn't expect this comment to be upvoted so much given I was more or less just quoting the video, but to give some context, someone once accused me of being a "sealion." A sealion is troll-like figure who fancies himself a keyboard warrior and will harass people into being crushed by his flawless rhetoric. He isn't so much polite in spit of his rabid insecurities, but rather uses manners as an additional beatstick to funnel the victims into their lame and predictable trap. I like talking to these people because I can quite casually beat them at their own game. So I said to the accuser, "Sealion. Smh. I *eat* sealions. If I'm anything, I'm an orca." I'm wouldn't say I'm rude in an argument per se, but I don't take any crap and know every trick in the book. "Hunting" after people to argue with isn't my thing, but when I do throw down, any opponent who bases his attacks on logical rhetoric will be catapulted into the sky long enough to regret their poor character choice.

And "no fatal orca attacks against humans" in the wild. The only reason there aren't any *reported ones in the wild is because there aren't a lot of opportunities. Orca need deep water and a human dumped in deep enough water to get dunked by orca is boned either way. What I'm saying is, no survivors, no witnesses. • Humpback whales have evolved to the point where they can swallow the smaller fishes whole, and thus have reduced their dependency on krill alone. Also Humpback whales have figured out team strats similar to dolphins for hunting down schools of fish, thus diversifying their diet. Their higher respawn rate (compared to other whales) also means that they can recover their numbers lost to whaling or hunting.

  • BIG point to make! 4:30 It is still unclear, but there is very strong evidence to suggest that baleen players did not in fact, give up on echolocation, but managed to altered the ability: Losing the ability to make ultrasounds meant of course they can no longer use the echolocation abilityi to accurately pin point prey in front of them... but it may be possible for them to use infrasounds to echolocate on great distances, meaning while they lose precision the sound (especially ebing underwater) travels much farther and allows them to create mental maps of the territory around them for miles, and even detect current/temperature changes in the water where prey may gather. Sadly, the baleen guild is super secretive about their tactics and this is all not confirmed yet...
