@@pieck5460 Apparently u haven't played much. The problem isn't the fast movement or the gunplay. Its simply the fact that Siege is 9 yo ppl just dont care about the attack/ defend gameplay because everyone has literally done that for thousands of times at this point...

It's worth getting back into, just treat it like Siege 2. You'll have to learn the new operators and maps, but the og operators are still good so you can lean on them while you get back into it. They also added a player vs ai mode to help people get back into/learn the game and it helps learn new and remade maps quickly, as does the new t-hunt.
there should be a basic equipment mode

Yup, and a fun one where you load and load and load for a match but mever join, but if you quit it says you've left a match and have to reconnect, but it never does. So you end up with a 60 minute penalty.

Anyone who does something because of moist critical needs their head examined. Jynxzi is 100% who should be credited. One of his 10 second clips is more entertaining than hours of criticals videos.

I stopped playing 2 years ago and just got back to it recently
I played this for quite a long time and enjoyed it a lot, but as new operators were added, I couldn't keep up anymore. Every time I played I was frustrated by some new operator with wizard-like capabilities. This is the type of game that unless you live and breath it constantly you can't hardly even understand what's going on.

Started playing in Y5S2, took a few breaks and stopped playing halfway through Y7. Got back into the game in Y8S4 thanks to seeing Jynxzi on tiktok, and I hit Gold IV. This season I'm already at Plat IV and loving the changes.

It’s been a couple years since I played this game and it feels like a completely new game. I played two games of quick play and died every round without even SEEING an enemy. It was absurd. I used to be casually platinum, like, playing ranked as a meme with friends as if it was quick play. Now I can’t compete at all. Everything is so sluggish, the guns aren’t snappy, and the recoil means you basically just have to one tap or die. Idk peeps will say “skill issue” but the game is way different
yeah the game isnt friendly to new players , i tried to play it more then 15 times and i just didnt have the time to learn every class and every single corner map ;d

Well I came back not because of the update, but because that one streamer always pops up in my feed (I think his name is like “Jynxi”?) and Charlie starts playing it again too so I just got the urge to come back and give it another go (after like 2 years not playing).

Not trying to speak bad about the game or this season, which I do currently enjoy. But part of the reason player numbers are so high is because of a bug that doesn't close your game completely when you exit out, thus it stays open in the background. This causes Steam to show those players as currently on the game when in reality their game hasn't fully closed. Thus, there are technically more players online, but a good chunk of them aren't actively playing. This same bug first popped up in the game about a year ago (possibly even further back) and I remember headlines going around talking about Siege's high player numbers before some players and KZheadrs came out to highlight the bug that was causing it. Again, not throwing shade at the game because I am enjoying it at the moment. Just wanted to highlight that some of these player numbers are probably being artificially boosted by this bug.

I havent played this game in years and it looks like it went from a tactical shooter somewhat grounded in reality to a full on scifi shooter, the gadgets might as well be magical and the new operators look like the were exported from Fortnite
Unfortunately that's how it tends to go with live service. Eventually the ideas run out and they have to start going into fantasy.

Is worse now than it ever was actually, infuriating. Unplayable even. Rushing in headless and roaming loudly was never easier, traps meta is the only thing slowing this game down. You cant locate anyone based on sound. Was running a few tests with friends the other day and it was insanely bad.

R6 has a hard learning curve, but once you get the grip of it, you will begin to notice how there is no other game like siege

The people you play against are your skill level, there is SBMM (skill based matchmaking). So you shouldn't really worry, just learn the operators and maps, most important thing for beginners to improve quickly.

the reason why the playercount is going up that much is because of a bug. The game does not close completely when you end it. It keeps running in the background and you have to manually stop the process in the task manager
So tactical I love it!

It's blowing up due to one man. Siege devs even recognize this. To be fair, it's a far more deep version of Counter Strike. I can hear the old guard saying "Counter Strike is peak competitive FPS." No. It is not. Before CS, we had UT, Quake TF, Half Life TF, etc.

I completely believe Jynxi kept the game alive and other big streamers like Moist are the reasons for the recent boom. There are some nice changes in the last update but I just don't think the changes alone are the big cause of the increased player count. Idk, I started playing again because of these streamers, maybe I'm projecting.

i played 9 games, im copper 5 (returning player who peaked d1). my most recent game i faced against a cheater 4 stack. Like full blatant cheating with no attempt to hide. idc what R6 changes, as long as im experiencing a cheater, blatant at that, once every 3 games ill just stick to non-fps games or coop fps games. competitive fps at a non-pro level is not worth getting into because there's rarely any integrity no matter what rank you're in.
