Bonjour à tous, The family are back to work in the chateau garden, creating the pathways for the new formal garden design, but while digging away, Tracy uncovers a large section of decorative metal, on closer inspection it looks to have been part of the old chateau porch/orangery, could this be it?

About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.
Please subscribe and follow our families journey, with the up’s and down’s in moving from the UK to rural France and restoring this beautiful building to its former glory.

  • What a great find, Tracy! I think Ash is right, and it's the 'ridge pole' for the glass enclosure. I hadn't noticed before, but looking at the photograph reminded me strongly of the 1851 Great Exhibition. I'm eager to watch the replication/renovation of La Lacelle's porch. But on to the spectacular efforts of the team in the walled garden: WOW! It's starting to really take the concept into reality. Great job, everyone!
