My 2002 has factory xenon headlights. I think they were available from the beginning. Maybe optional.
Good video. That first shot - I have a IB with cocomats, so I loved it!
Fantastic video. I'm looking to buy my second one. My first I bought about 8-10 years ago becuse I was moving up from a '99 M3 and I thought that it looked cool. I had no idea what I had when I let it go. Anyway, I want to be a more knowledgeable owner.
I drive a modded F10 5 series and have been thinking of selling it to get one of these because I simply love them.
I am starting to see them go into the $40,000 range for clean examples. I am going to hand mine down to my son when he gets his license.
@@mocheen4837 that’s a lucky kid and a great dad
Would have been good to know the years for early/late on the headlights/taillights "LCI'" changeover.
2003 is typically the changeover - I believe July 03
Subframe mounting on these is almost 100% failure rate, its not about "treating it right" its literally a flaw in the design of the chassis. Same on 330ci models as well AND on E36 models too. And most of the time it isn't showing up until late in the mileage and wasn't done under warranty. It absolutely IS a massive issue with these that anyone buying one should 100% be looking at. Its not a cheap fix, best case it's subframe out and reinforcement plates welded in, worst case its an entire new boot floor.. . . dont underplay that
It's a disgrace that's what it is.. big dollar cars when new
Buyers guide from some one who owns one, DON'T They are all shit electronics.
Well I own one and have had my hands in hundreds. Sounds like your experience is unfortunate but an outlier.
@@jamesclay1595 You may be right. Idk. I love the engine's performance and sound but is been in to the shops non stop. Its been in shops more then I've driven it :D
I guess each car has its history but I’ve never had one electrical issue with my 05 since I bought it in 05… it’s a car I would never sell I love it.
I have had mine since 2006 and have not had any issues other than the rear view mirror leak and the door lock switch breaking. I am sorry that you had so many issues with your vehicle. I am planning to do the big three now that I am at 80,000 miles. I have full Dinan modifications and HRE wheels. I have dealt bra on the front end and rocker panels. I just had it paint corrected and ceramic coated two months ago. I always keep the car garaged and waxed. The interior looks new and has minimal wear on the seats.
2006 here w 95k miles. No electronic issues and drives great. Regular oil changes and maintenance matters.
