  • There's a great lesson to be learned here. Whenever someone says something that sounds like disrespect to you, before you act, ask them to clarify what they mean. Just straight up ask: "What do you mean by that?" It helps avoid situations like these where there's a misunderstanding, but it's also quite powerful when someone actually is being disrespectful!

    • As someone who's neurodivergent, this hits particularly close for me. I can see myself having made a comment like that. To say a fraction of a thought in my head and cut myself off because I know no one actually wants the long story, then have what I said misinterpreted. Some of the best people in my life are the ones who take that moment. Who think "he didn't mean that, what DID he mean?" I've also been that person for others, and there's no better feeling than to have someone say to you "you didn't react like people would normally react, thank you for letting me be myself"

    • I think Boy George didn't know how to respond when he then said "I do" and the kid didn't react. I don't think the kid knew how to react, but to Bot George it might have seemed like "I'm not interested in changing my piano to anything else" Hence the comment about going with Delta..the piano person.

It's hard for him but also hard for others who never interact with those in the spectrum. I can see both sides here. I don't don't thus kid meant anything but I doubt Boy George has had much interaction with the neurodiverse.

    • I think that ( being a street performer ) he meant , in his experience ( on the streets ) no one cares about the guitar. There are a LOT of people that play guitar so because of the competition, it prob seems people don't care about the guitar. Its so easy to say 'No one' instead of 'Most people' .. not sure why George took it so personal.

  • This guy's been busking on the streets for 10 years, and his experience is that no one cares if he plays guitar. Why would the judge think he's calling him a no one? This young man has every reason to be nervous, and the judge should be a lot more confident, and realize that no insult was intended.

  • What I love about this kid is that he is GENUINE. The artist wasn't making the comment in the way that George took it. The kid was nervous and simply said what he knew to be true. He is confident in his talents and true to himself. No one really cares if he plays a different instrument. At the same time, George asked because he did care. George has to be willing to accept the talent as it comes and work to bring out the best in each contestant. He might simply ask if a contestant plays any other instruments.

His outward appearance is part of singer’s decision and not what he is saying. He’s being frustrated and angry no one wants to be on his team. The reason I say this is because of his intonation. Flat, no emotional inflection when making that comment. Most "artiste" should have some regret NOT being able to engage the audience when playing a guitar. On a side note, totally going to Google George's acceptance rate and why it apparently is low? Is it only because Australian youth think he is a has been? Is Guy Ritchie a superstar in Australia? Internationally, he is just meh. Never heard of the girl, unless that one is Kylie Rowland. I do not blame George for walking out. I don’t think I would have walked out then again, I don’t know. But I definitely think that Danniel was being dismissive to Boy George and that was disrespectful. He could have explained what he meant by that, instead of leaving it uncomfortably in the air without any follow up the way that he did. I don’t think Boy George is throwing a tantrum, I think Boy George was upset at the level of disrespect and excused himself before he said, some thing that he might regret. Sometimes when you get angry or hurt, it is better to remove yourself from the situation so that you don’t get combative because I know I would’ve been tempted to.

As he didn't elaborate on why he thought this way, I think Boy George was looking for some feedback from Daniel, on why he thought this way, when he said, "I do!" The boy is nervous, he's in a stressful situation and as Boy George pointed out, he was more confident behind the piano, but when he stepped out in front, he was more nervous. I think Boy George was expecting too much from Daniel, and as B. G. still had no one on his team, he was a little uptight himself and felt it as a sort of snub to him when he got no reply. • Nothing sounded original from the singer. If he was a recording artist I wouldn't be able to tell who he is from thousands of KZhead aspiring vocalists. Very generic voice.

    • He acknowledges how nervous this young fella is and then storms off in a snit and whines to the gentleman who chases after him that Dan is “rude” ? He’s a spoiled child who was throwing a tantrum because no one has chosen him yet. Crips. I’d not have chased after him.
