    • @@SoheeKaulitz ~ The _judges_ were definitely the lackluster flops of his audition. They didn't even communicate something like, "Man...that was so cool. I just don't know where we would go with you on this show." Instead, they overcompensated by pretending to be extremely enthusiastic and into it when his band did their "spontaneous" performance. Also by Prince Ali that nearly nobody pressed the button bullshit this was performed on a really high level everyone had for sure pressed the button.

    • @@MidnightsfireLP that‘s not exactly how the production works. Every judge tries to build his/her own portfolio of artists to win. When someone‘s performance doesn‘t fit or match their plans or their built group, they won‘t react. Also, when someone‘s group is full, they simply can‘t turn. And last but not least, the industry is always searching for recordable/sellable mainstream mass ware. And this simply was not it. There are 2 types of music which is not very successfully in these kind of shows: classic opera and musical theatre. I am sure, most of the judges wouldn‘t also know what to do with them.

    • @@MidnightsfireLP industry has no knowledge of music. Producers for whom they all work there, don‘t give a dam, only the sound of hard cash. If their analysts tell, which type of music is mostly downloaded, bought and heard and how the demographic spread is, that‘s all they understand. It is as always: market, supply and demand. That‘s why I very seldom hear mainstream music. I feel you, bro.

Magnus Bokn was on a Norwegian talent show called Idol, which is part of the "Idol" series that originated in the U.K. The Norwegian version is broadcast on TV 2, a station based in Bergen. He did not perform "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" on that show. The year was 2011; Magnus was 16 and without a beard. He reached the semifinals and returned in 2013. The "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" on The Voice is from 2017. What is so very impressive to me is not just the 3.5 million views, but that it was awarded 19th place in the international talent competition Olympics of Singing. If you really enjoy his voice, he has been having great success with "Over the Sea," which he co-wrote with Jowst (Joakim With Steen). The door banged behind my back. An autumn wind is knocking on the window, Crying over me all over again. Thunderstorm at night And fog in the morning. The sun has turned completely cold. Old pains are following one another Let them all get together. My house has been built But I'm alone here. The door banged behind my back. An autumn wind is knocking on the window, Crying over me all over again. This is Fate, but I cannot ask for anything from Fate. I just know how the winds will be waiting after I am gone Another interpenetration: My house has been built, But I'm still alone here. The door slammed behind my back, The autumn wind knocks my window, It cries for me again. There was thunderstorm is in the night, And there's a mist in the morning The sun got cold long ago. Ancient pains Are passing by Let everyone gather. My house has been built, But I'm still alone here. The door slammed behind my back, The autumn wind knocks my window, It cries for me again. It's my destiny & I can't do anything with this. A Google Translation: My house is finished But I'm alone in it - She slammed the door behind her. The autumn wind is knocking on the window - Crying over me again. Thunderstorm at night And in the morning the fog - The sun has cooled down completely. old pains They go in succession - Let everyone gather. My house is finished But I'm alone in it... She slammed the door behind her. The autumn wind is knocking on the window - Crying over me again. This is fate, but I can't fate I'm asking for nothing. Only I know how after me - The winds will howl. These lyrics are translated, but I somehow prefer the Russian version. There are videos of Vitas singing Opera #2 with English lyrics subtitles. That might also help. The original song is written and performed by Russian artist, Vitaliy Vladasovich Grachev, known professionally as Vitas. He is known for his ability to sing very high notes, with almost six octaves in range, based on B1 - B#7, however the B#7 was for whistling. The highest singing note I have heard is C#6. His range has grown since he first started becoming popular in the early 2000s. Few others have attempted to cover Opera #2, but some have such as Hirran Omkaar. Possibly due to the competition, Vitas now has recorded a new version that extends the highest notes just a tiny bit. In some performances Vitas is dressed in as strange or as Alien as anyone could get, and in others, he appears to be dressed no different than you would expect Tony Bennet to look. Vitas sings a pretty wide range of music, and I would suggest checking out as many of his songs as possible.

A singer who growls like that need to take extra care about their voice or later in life they won’t have much left of it and that guy have NOT taken any precautions to that. It can be heard clearly when he speaks normally, it’s not good. It’s better the judges turn around to a person who actually knows how to take care of their voice.

    • @@SheilaR.08 >"But it is a classic by her. Hers is the version that charted worldwide and everyone knows." Regardless of how popular or wide-ranging a rendition becomes, it does not become their song. The song is a classic but it is not by her. In the music industry, when those two parts come together (artist name and "classic") it means that the song was written by the "artist name." When someone else wrote/composed the song, then it is proper to refer to the "artist name's" rendition of the "original artist's" song, be it a classic or not. It does not matter that the rendition became more popular ("everyone knows"), the song is still by the original writer/composer, who in turn (likely through a publishing agency) licensed the song to be recorded by someone. The original writer/composer earns money from each performance of the song and "pressings of records" or other media. When the person recording the song is as successful as Cyndi Lauper turned out to be, surely "everyone" knows or should know that part of that success came from recording the "right song" for the time, but regardless, the song does not become that person's song, which the word "classic" implies. In this case, since Robert Hazard did not release a recording of the song, he did not make the song a "classic" as is often the case when the original composer also recorded their song and it became very successful. Cyndi did indeed make the song a classic, just not a Cyndi Lauper classic. She made it a classic written by Robert Hazard. >"... and everyone knows" The Internet has lots of valuable correct information, but it also has loads of incorrect information. What is written today may be read many years from now by persons that have no clue who Cyndi Lauper was or who Robert Hazard was. At that point, the "and everyone knows" part will no longer be the case. Due to so much "incorrect information," future generations might be better off deleting everything on the Internet and starting anew. Imagine using all of the current Internet information to create a new wiki using an AI Bot to scan and cross-reference all the information, then use the information to create the new wiki entries. That AI Bot may also take into consideration the account that added the information. For those that continuously added incorrect information, the Bot may decide to leave out their contributions, rather than the added processing needed to cross-reference the information. When completed, the wiki references could be the things we type today, provided they are correct. It is each person's responsibility to not add more "wrong information" than already exists, especially when it is so easy to do a tiny bit of research before "putting pen to paper" or typing on a public forum or platform, such as KZhead. Not only do you benefit, but also your peers and future generations that expect the previous generations were writing and publishing correct information. Which side had you rather be on; the side that added incorrect information or the side that provided accurate information?

  • @03:51 Patrick Bullock sang the pumpkin king (Jack's Lament) from the movie "A Nightmare Before Christmas". That movie was an International hit but the somehow the German judges/coaches had no clue what they were listening to. I'm positive they've never heard of Danny Elfman or Tim Burton. Reminds me of when Rita Ora, an International singing star, who has been a Voice judge/coach in more than 1 country or even continent for that matter, pranked the German judges/coaches and even after turning and then speaking to her, had no clue who she was. The Germans need to broaden their horizons a little. Fonzi, who is an American, has been a judge/coach on the Voice in about every Spanish speaking country on 3 continents. I'm sure the Germans would have a tough time trying to figure out who he is.
