Seems everyone had a bit of a struggle here at "the Articulator" today. Every time it is a bit different and this time it looked easier than ever. But it wasn't. A few stones are so placed that there are steep bits with hardly any grip. Easy to bounce a bit when going too fast and then you will just slide sideways.Next time I am going to dust off those stones with a broom and see if that helps a bit :-)

for the last 9yrs we've been getting on top of mountains to find only $60,000+ rigs up there. we've had open diffs, 10" smaller tires, and IFS. every video where drivers are messing around with lines the comments are the same: needs lockers, IFS sucks. i think these people are weenies who want to turn their idle up, lock all 3, and not have to make any decisions for the next few hours. i like the puzzle. i LIKE coming around a corner and thinking "there's no way i can put my car on that.." and then figuring out how to anyway. good camera work, good lack of music, great video 👍

It all comes down to where you're taking them. I'll take the 80 offroad because it'll never let you down. I'll take the L300 to the store or into the city because you'll always find parking.

l300 van has rear air locker and front diff welded.

acalthu Most Mitsubishi L300 4x4 Delica's are diesel! This Mitsubishi L300 4x4 is a bit more sober, no frills version. It's called an Express in Australia and most are 2.4 litre petrol with manual 5-speed transmission. The good thing of petrol is that it has 145 hp and weighs less than the diesel Delica. Low end torque is a problem here for the 4 cylinder petrol as you can see. And yes: all 4x4 L300's have proper low gearing with a 2:1 transfer case.

Haha what? I’m currently searching for Delica L300 for me and the first point of my checklist I’d NO DIESEL (and the second is MANUAL TRANSMISSION;). Yes, I know - they can have a better torque but these heavy, noisy, polluting Diesels suck!
IFS and leaf springs is just a rubbish suspension set up. He was lucky not to snap a cv in the ranger. I Can't believe that L300 van didn't tip.
+Michael Nugara I am a fan of long travel IFS. Seen those offroad buggies? IFS rocks as the diff is higher. Even on the van I drive up things with 31" tyres where solid axles get stuck on 33's. How about that.
+Martin VanMan lol those vans go alright but honastly they have nothing on a live axel. My cruiser only has a 2" lift in the back and i think i would cruise up there no drama at all. Would love to prove it if your ever around Gladstone QLD in Australia. I have no idea where this vid was taken...
Michael Dean I would like to join you and see whether the 2" would be enough. Any similar tracks around Gladstone? This video is made in the Blue Mountains near Lithgow NSW.
+Martin VanMan there is a few good ones. My car has had to spend the night out there before awaiting good weather lol. Failing that we are looking at moving to the sunny coast so maybe there will be some good stuff there.

Yep, you right! Since a few months it got reduction gears so it should go a lot smoother now, without stalling the engine.

It is a test track. There is a normal track next to this one, so it makes an ideal track to learn your vehicle.
