  • This is the first time the Oscars have felt like "good old days" in probably 5-10 years. No grandstanding, no angry hurt-filled speeches, no drama, no Harvey Weinsteins creeping up the red carpet, no real politics, no lineup of legacy nominees only there to make condescending statements about Hollywood's narcissism. Just a whole bunch of first-time nominees THRILLED to be there, speeches full of joy and enthusiasm, and a round of movies that I actually felt like I've seen. This felt like an Oscars full of positivity with very little cynicism, and I was genuinely overjoyed for every person who won. I wish more people actually watched this year because I feel like this was the year they finally got it right.

  • That was just amazing. I love how happy Ke Huy Quan and Brendan Fraser are at just getting a mention, Brendan was literally in tears. I love how Jimmy called out last year's audience for their inaction after the slap - and not just the audience but the Committee in general for still giving Smith the award. I love how game everyone is especially Spielberg ("Oh you're here too, Sepp or Seb is it?, how long have you been there?"), the two Guillermos and Garfield. And the RRR bit when they played Jimmy off. And the absence of the Matt Damon prop gag. Not the funniest but easily one of the best, most grounded opening speeches in recent years.

If your a celeb u really need to have a little thicker skin than will

  • I think Jimmy Kimmel did very well! His jokes were in good enough taste, that only the hyper sensitive will be offended. He complimented a lot of people and movies. Over all I think it was the classiest Oscar hosting in a while. Positivity mixed with good nature jokes that were still funny. This proves you don't need to be obnoxious to be funny.

  • you know what, this is what Jim Carrey was saying when he said that Hollywood aren’t the cool kids any more. Jimmy Kimmel is making some honest jokes and the these people sound like Jimmy just insulted them 💀 It’s good to say that some people have the scene of humor to laugh at themselves but i’m honestly glad the slap was mentioned, the jokes were honest, and Jimmy kept pushing through, despite how the crowd was reacting to his jokes lmao
