    • It was a slap, not a punch. I’m sure a punch would’ve caused a different reaction. But I mean it was a joke about his wife’s medical condition and apparently there’s been some beef between them… so was he wrong? Sure, but it’s understandable.   • I really admire how Chris Rock handled this. When I try to explain to my boys what it means to be strong, I say it's not size, height, muscles, or gender... I point to my head and say it's "restraint, self control, decency, humility, introspection...", basically everything Chris Rock exhibited since Will Smith had a bad day. No judgement @ Will Smith. Remember this, he's been doing stand-up comedy shows since his teenage years, and during the course of which he dealt with hecklers of all kinds. That's where he learned to keep the show moving, no matter the distraction and not be thrown off track.

  • A friend of mine just left teaching in public school after a "young Will Smith" slapped him in the face in front of the classroom. He told me it is happening more and more in public schools. He said it is also not uncommon to see a public school kid pick up a trash can or other heavy object and knock another kid out. Sure the kids get put out og school but they don't care. Public school is not what you remembered from the 60's and 70's. In my day kids had to be able to read/write and do Math to graduate. Now they just give them a diploma if they put a warm body in a desk enough times.

  • Chris Rocks’s self restraint was unbelievable. And a sign of Chris good intention was when Will climbed up to the stage , Chris was standing proud of his joke and his smile was to greet a friend and then the shocking moment. And the joke is quite mild , it doesn’t deserve the overreaction from Will , and maybe he didn’t know about her medical condition

    • @@krobson4849 he didn't know he crossed the line. He had no idea. He even stated afterwards he wasn't aware Jada had a health condition. He just thought she went with the saved head style that's very popular among African American women due to their widespread hair problem. It's not like Jada is rare. Almost every African American woman knows the struggle, and they laugh at weave jokes too. Most people didn't know about Jada's condition. Nobody cares about Jada. Most of us didn't know anything about her until she made news for sleeping around on Will Smith, and at that point nobody wanted to know any more.
