Brad absolutely kills this role and the heart of his performance truly shines through by how he makes you feel just as invested in his whole group of family and friends even though they have so few lines because of his subtle genius way of making you understand there's no Mickey without the whole group. He loved not being given full Hollywood mobile homes and a staff of servants, felt 'normal' in a way he rarely if ever can feel and he was greatly amused by how he'd be given a cup of tea during breaks rather than being asked what 5 star food he'd like delivered by personal courier. That relaxed and appreciated atmosphere seems to come out in his performance.

    • @Cock McBalls - The answer to that is simple. He will never be Partick Stewart or Kenneth Branagh. So what. He knows it too. And he is OK with it. Why? Becaue of... money. And there is nothing wrong with it. All depends how much the contract is paying, and most of his roles are "easy" in this case. Just go through the motion, take a check, job done. At the end, no matter how anybody is going so spin it - all of entertainment is about money. If you want something different, go back to the roots. Do a theatre as an actor. Go for it. it is also amazing, but it is different experience than movies as such. I bet Statham is going for money. And I agree with him 100% (considering his background). Life is short.

  • To me this role was like he drew heavily from the role He had in 12 monkeys. His performance in both roles was very convincing I might add. His performance in12 Monkeys was what changed my mind about his acting ability. Until that point I saw him as someone the studio's pushed solely because of his appeal to young women.

But I could pause, rewind, replay, and still - nope - didn't understand a word of it LOL. Such a brilliant example of his acting perfection. His cheeky shrugging grin after the knock-out in the ring! So brief, so perfect.

But Stephen Graham's face at the end was a flipping master class in using facial expressions to convey emotion. Up there with Bob Hoskins at the end of 'The Long Good Friday'. An early hint at the great actor he was destined to become. Check out 'This is England' to see just how great.
