Hey, I’m Sonny! I’m from the US but I’ve been living in Asia for 10 years and started making food and travel videos to document my experiences. I travel to different parts of the world, hunting down and documenting the most unique food each country has to offer.
If you see any factual food errors in my videos, please feel free to politely let me know in the comments. I'm a huge fan of trying different, interesting foods in each country. My show is from a Western point of view, but more importantly, MY point of view. It is not meant to offend any person or culture.

    • Leaving one claw leads to a higher mortality rate.

      @HunterBidenscrack@HunterBidenscrackАй бұрын
    • Leaving one claw makes the crab think it’s still capable of defense and hunting but it’s severely compromised missing a claw. When you take both the crab goes into scavenger mode and eats food off the bottom, stops hunting and stops picking fights lol. Taking one is only for females.

      @billlee1724@billlee1724Ай бұрын
    • @HunterBidenscrack That’s not true, but taking both claws doesn’t increase the mortality rate enough to justify only taking one. If you take one, take two because the statistics support it. One claw is about 50/50 mortality. If taking the second claw only raises mortality to 80%, take two. The math works out, especially since females (which are protected) produce a ton of baby crabs, but they only need one male. I’ve been drinking, but I’m pretty sure that’s basically how it works.

    • The mortality stats vary quite a bit depending on which study you look at. The current system works, so why change it? Even a declawed male crab can still reproduce and they don’t harvest from egg-bearing females. 20% survive, so I don’t see how it’s a waste when the ones that die end up back in the food chain anyway. I’m not good at articulating the rationale, but it makes sense. They’ve done plenty of statistical analysis in implementing the policy.

The crab uses its claws to eat, and defend itself, so when you remove both, they have a high chance of dying.. Slowly. From hunger. Or if they are lucky, you break it off at the wrong spot, so they bleed out quicker. Its a dumb practice that simply doesnt work for the intented purpose.

    • Also, AI images have no place among well recorded videos and the high quality of the production this video have. It simply is like putting dog excretion among perfectly ripe apples. Connecting that with immersion. Once you see dog excretion on perfectly good apples, will you eat those apple? It makes the apples look cheaper and disgusting. Once there are dog excretion on apples, they will no longer look as good as they were. A smudge of dog excretion on good apples will reduce their value and they will no longer look as good as they are supposed to be. Will you eat an apple if you see dog excretion on it?

Secondly shark need fin to swim and need to swim to be able to force water through their gills for o2, without fin they will drown or being eaten by others fish. No it is not okay to fin sharks and throw them back neither is declawing crabs but at least for crabs it is illegal to declaw a female which give them a chance to repopulated, for shark they fucking died

  • So I lived in Florida for 22 years I would freedive for lobsters and stone crab claws I've had fresh Maine lobster before and the reigning champion in my book is a colossal Stone Crab claw. I also would work the grass flats at night with a flashlight and a net catching blue crab and shrimp at certain times of the year. Seafood was my primary diet. I live in the midwest now and if you want to know what grouper tastes like go catch a crappie. The only difference is the size of the fillet the flavor is the same and the texture is the same.
