      @GinoNL@GinoNL Жыл бұрын
    • @@GinoNL Fantastic question but impossible to figure out without bias. Prime to Prime...short answer is Saenchai. Buakow gives Saenchai all the respect as an elder and pioneer and Buakow fought out of his weight class during his prime which is amazing in itself, so you know that the power and fury is there. (As is the ability to absorb which is also key). Saenchai is just Saenchai though and to see him fight world class champions NOW while he is "out of his prime" and dismantle them with a smile on his face seemingly amused that this is what a world champion is in today's world gives you a hint at just how next level Saenchai is. No disrespect to any of his past opponents or the Champions that have stood in front of him. They have fantastic past accolades but the vision of Saenchai to see your next move in your body language is second to none. We are ALL always improving as Nak Muay and both Buakow and Saenchai have contributed to my growth!! • Samart, along with Dieselnoi and Wichannoi, are the old GOAT contenders. Let me speak what little I know of them to get a bigger picture: *In terms of skills, no one was better than Samart Payakaroon.* Not even Saenchai's coach, Somrak Khamsing, who won the Gold in boxing in the olympics the same year that Floyd Mayweather lost. Samart is the ultimate example of efficiency and art in fighting. *Dieselnoi, the "Sky Piercing Knee"* was really tough too. In fact, he won against Samart at the same weight in the most anticipated Muay Thai fight of the century. *People didn't want to fight him so he had to retire* when he was 24 and had his belt stripped off him. He remains the king of the Muay Khao style. *Wichannoi "The Eternal Yodmuay" Pontawee* is from the Silver Age of Muay Thai, *he was like the Joe Louis of Muay Thai. Very technical, very precise, strong puncher too.* In my opinion, and like many others think, only Saenchai and Lerdsila, and probably Rodtang, would be able to fight against the fighters of the Golden Age of Muay Thai. Dieselnoi would smoke Saenchai anyday and Samart is like the even better example of a Muay Fimeu, even better than Saenchai. What Saenchai brought to the world of Muay Thai though, is very important. He sent the message of love. Love for fighting, love for the art, respect, and tradition, and a really elite standard for Muay Thai fighters. Him and Liam Harrison are like inspirators for the new generation. But if you want to see real Muay Thai at it's peak, you have to check out Golden Age fights.

    • Undefeated in Thai Fight. His resume is around 400-50 though. You gotta remember through out his career he has given weight to his opponents, even the elite, elite thai fighters he would give a 2lb advantage. His losses come predominantly from clinch fighter smothering him - stopping him from using footwork and, as they are larger than him, they have the power to clinch and wear him down. He also lost to absolute legends in the sport as he was coming up. Samkor, thongchai, he was around 15 or so when he faced them and lost. But they were golden age legends already. He has 1 loss to foreigners in total out of probably 120 fights but again, that was a 12lbs weight advantage with the #1 foreign fighter at the time - he lost cos he played too many games and got outscored.

  • I remember back in the mid 80’s when my pops first got cable tv. I was into boxing and all that. Pops called me into the living room and said sit down and watch this. I was like wtf, they can kick and throw elbows. My dad said you think your tough? I sat in silence watching and after the fights I turned to him and said NO, I’m not tough like that. That music always playing in the background. I thought I was watching some type of underground non sanctioned fighting. At 12-13 years old I was amazed. Then in my mid 20’s the Gracie’s came around and yet another martial art that astounded me. The good ‘old days.

    • Oh my God, I remember when the Gracie's were dominating 2-3 of us w'd pitch in and get a room to watch and also the Tyson fights. I was a hood nerd and didn't have cable 😏 but an appreciation for technical organized fighting & all what was happening there! 80's were an awesome time!

  • Saenchais kicks are like critical hits the enemies don’t even realize it but they’re done already once the blow has been delivered. Saechais status effect is dominance

  • That push-kick is incredible. It's also cool that he steps to the outside when catching kicks before doing sweeps. I guess muy Thai is to Thailand what starcraft is / was to Korea, insanely competitive, everyone does it from a young age and the true prodigies stand out but they also have to work their ass off or the others will catch up.

  • This the first time I’ve ever heard of this guy. I mostly watch UFC and boxing and I’ve always wondered if there’d ever be someone who combined an aggressive fighting style and toyed with his opponents but also have amazing technique and be humble. And also be so dominant that no one has ever come close to beating you. This guy checks all these boxes.

  • I'm Thai and I have to say Saenchai is the Muaythai legend that proud to introduce Muaythai to the world. and as he said on the news and as many muaythai fighter known that Muaythai is a sport version of Muay BoRan so many techniques were banned and Saenchai is just like many Muaythai lover's that do not want people to forget about the Ancient Muaythai techniques(Muayboran) so he chose this technique called "ม้า ดีด กะ โหลก"(Ma-Deed-Ka-Lok)=(The horse bouncing skulls) from Muay Boran Table to represent Muaythai to the entire world. And most fighter all around the world called the cart wheel kick because it's make sense too right?? lol
