Here are some helpful tips I can share for newbies to skipping. 1: Use a beaded rope when you first start skipping. You'll be able to sense the rope around you better. It's not necessary to buy expensive ropes. A 10-15 dollars rope is just fine. 2: Measure your rope and cut to the proper length. It's easy to do. Just hold on to the handles with one hand and step on rope and measure up to your arm pits or nipple. As you get better, you can shorten your rope. The biggest mistake newbies make is jumping with too long a rope. You'll end up tripping a lot. 3: Point the handles forward, not to the sides, and flick your wrist. This puts your hands in a more natural position and allows for longer jumping with less fatigue. 4:When buying vinyl ropes (aka: licorice ropes), make sure to get between a 4mm, 5mm, or 6mm. They hold their shape better and don't wobble as much. Anything thinner will be difficult to handle. 5: You only need to jump only as high as necessary to clear the rope. Which means an inch or two off the floor or a foot off the floor for double or triple unders. That's it. And jump off your toes and ball of your foot land on your toes. And never jump on concrete unless you have a jumping pad. Wood or cork floors are the best, and your knees will thank you. 6: Relax and have fun with it. It's easy to learn but hard to master.

FLAWLESS ADVICE!!!🔥🔥💯💯
I mastered all of this during recess in elementary school.
Good for you bro!
I don’t think people will under how impressive this is.
His bloopers were prolly him stumbling over his words more often than the rope
I've seen thousands of youtube explanations for boxing or stuff similar and this is probably one of the better ones
I learned the running one first, than jump 🦘, than 1 leg
I boxed and fought from 13 years old till i was 21 never learned to truly get that rythm
I feel bad for children who didn’t have a childhood like back in the 80s and 90s… because we were all doing this as kids 😂
The most helpful jump rope video
This is one of the best videos I watched so far, without basic technique you can’t go further, this video gave me the north on how to master skipping ropes properly
Ngl the fact he’s doing all that while talking so calmly is insane 😂
The best I've seen Boxer skipping tutorials so far...others are like showing the move then doing it themselves...not beginners friendly.
Means a lot brother! 2 million this video 🚀
Ive started jumping rope again and i wanted to learn boxer skipping Thankyou for the tutorial
I’m trying to learn how to jump rope, great alternative when I don’t feel like jogging.
His accent and raspy ish voice is literally perfect!!
Straight to the point.
Best explanation I’ve ever heard for jump rope
Pure quality
Thank you 👍 Information is always key 👍 Be well to all and to all a great day.. ✌️
Bounce on both feet, then with tap your right heel to the ground, then back to your right toe on the ground. Then alternate and tap your left heel on the ground, then back to tlyour left toe. This is the heel toe method that introduced me to jumping rope for boxing. Once you get the hang of it, it's a great rhythm, I can do it all day long.
Very informative I'm not a boxer I just want to be in a decent shape to live longer for my children but now I know what a really good form looks like and how to achieve it
Bro explained the whole thing while skipping . 😮💪
I didn't know that people actually need to learn that. I'm african, me and all ma bois have done it naturally 😂
Great instructions. Thanks
Clear and concise video mate. Cheers 👍🏼
Thx mate, never quit got the hang off it till now 👍
Dude! The stamina it must take to explain this WHILE jumping rope!
Jump rope is such a underutilized exercise tool. Helps so much with cardio and coordination
Mans a legend no more pop eye arms
Great explanation. Much appreciated!
Don't forget the last step where you speak in a few syllables while skipping rope, working up to a few words and then finally sentences so that you can progress to being a full blown beast master of speaking while jumping rope and not dying or wheezing 💯💪🔥❤️
Thanks, I've been jump roping wrong all my life. Wish I had KZhead as a kid.
Finally, a good tutorial for new jumpers.
Only thing jumping rope did for me was give me shredded calves, I didn’t lose no weight I gained muscle 😅
Ya, diet is way more important than exercise for losing weight. It's best if you combine the two off course.
I always kind of just found a rhythm and zoned out. I can’t wait to try this in the morning before I shadow box. 🙏🏾
Finally a Good Tutorial, thank you so much for this. Im currently at Single Leg Jumping.
Amazing tips! Love this so much 🙌🏽
Excellent teaching. Brilliant.
Not a boxer, but these tips are great for anyone getting into roping. Thanks a ton.
Great video... Will say when I first learned 10 years ago... I went from one foot to the other as the first thing. Helped me shift the weight. Counted to 5 bounces and switched foot than repeated.
Good stuff?
Thank you I’ve finally able to do it after watching this video elbows in and tucked huge difference
Love it! Will try
Nice! Let me know how you get on!
I have sciatica at the mo so not working on this, but, eventually, I'll build up my hopping strength on one leg. Thank u for the lesson!
Excellent advice. Probably the best way to transition from the basic single under to the boxer.
