  • I do 10 minutes of rope and anytime I trip on the rope I knock out 10 pushups. Then I use a weighted rope and do a set of 3 - 5min rounds with 1min rest. Again, anytime I trip on the rope I knock out 10 pushups. It's been a killer workout for me. Edit: you guys all have been awesome and I hope you are staying disciplined. I followed some home striking workouts to get the movements down, and people at the gym commented that I "looked like I had done this before," which was good enough for me lol.

Half of the people walking by thought I was insane, while the other half would ask if I was a personal trainer. The answer was no on both counts. I finally had to stop---or should I say "pause"---not because I couldn't do it anymore, but because at this age recovery is the beast. It has taken both time and some soul-searching to come to terms with this, but I believe I am ready to reinvent the athlete in me. Any insight or suggestions? Stay strong and kind!

Rest and diet is the most underutilised training component to maximise results. The other is knowing YOUR body, be humble and attempt a minimalistic approach to your training regimen.

  • Hey man. I don't know if you read these, but I just wanted to write in my experience. I've been boxing for a little over a year now, and I'm really starting to kick up the intensity and intelligence of my training. I saw this and thought I would give it a try, seeing as arms tiring during long sparring sessions has been a problem for me in the past. The first time I attempted this set, I just couldn't do it. I couldn't go longer than 5 minutes with the 10 lb bells. I had to drop every set to 5 minutes, besides the jump rope. I don't know if it was just a mental block or legit hitting a wall with my physical conditioning, but I didn't have it in me to go on. That was a month ago. Today, I finally got through every bit of this set and kept up the most intensity I could. Worked in some combos at the lighter weights as well. Thank you for setting the bar high and giving me a level of strength and conditioning to reach. Following this has given me a big boost in confidence and helped solve a problem of mine. Keep it up, brother. I appreciate it.

  • This workout doesn't seem to focus on building punching power but it's good to build strenght and endurance in your shoulders. To build punching power you should apply resistance orizontally countering the direction of the punches. Best way to do that is from strict throwing object or with elastic bands.

    @MrEismenTV@MrEismenTV Жыл бұрын
    • exactly. Sure, this will help, it's an intense workout. But if you really want powder, you neeed resistance against the movment you're performing.

  • I think it's terrible advice to tell people to practice punching with heavy weight. You're going to wreck your punching form and establish bad habits for the minor gain you'll get... That's why the make things like egg weights that don't get to a heavy weight. Many coaches/fighters that have the credentials to back up their claims also say the same thing. If this is all it takes, why don't we see professional boxers shadow boxing with 30 lb weights lmfao.
