I recommend rewatching the fight. Round 1: Khabib's *damage output* in the first round was literally 0. Notice the knee by Conor when Khabib charges in for the takedown 15 second into the fight. Looks like it graces Khabib's face, but lands on the shoulder. From the bottom, Conor clearly dealt more damage than Khabib did from the top. Conor won round 1. Round 2: Khabib won. Round 3: Conor won. Round 4: Was even up until it wasn't.

Conor got me into mma but I can no longer be a fan. Money has either ruined him or showed his true self. His coach tells a story of the first time he came to the gym. He ended up beating up someome (in sparring and I think it was a women) and he was basically acting like he was the best thing ever and everyone else were bums. So his coach got in with his and grappled with him to which Conor had no answers for. At the end his coach said to him that he is a good fighter with promise but if he wants to come to the gym he needs a change of attitude, which he obviously did. However it looks like Conor always had that side of him.

@Biruk Tebase I think he retired which slowed his fight progression. The UFC has never had this many viewers before. People like the no screeming fans fights. Plus it was the only show in town for three months. Viewers are up for their tsn shows on the weekends an some of those people have started buying the PPV. So I don't know why MCG couldn't have increased two of these weekends by a bunch. Yet he took himself out of the que to gain a fight. He could be a perfectionist yet I'm not sure his picking an opponent is a very well thought out event in how he does it. If Khabib didn't have the belt they never would have fought. There's always reasons for why someone lost. You can look at it in the most objective of ways, but hey, if a guy feels he could get the guy back in a rematch, and for someone as accomplished as Conor, you would think the rematch would be given in most cases - Khabib just doesn't wanna do it again and I just don't see why he would avoid it if Conor beats the guys he's supposed to beat to get there again. Hell GSP wouldn't be the guy he is today if he was never given a rematch against Sera.
