You've to have a hogfence to keep pigs in. A rail fence won't work. So that is why she's afraid to turn them lose. But I agree before butchering time it would be nice for them to have a small outside pen to go too. Many dairy people around me have a separate outside pen for the calves and pasture for their mother.
