Do anyone feel bad for Umbrae when she was dying. She couldn't cry because she don't know how to cry or express what she feels. She just mindless crazy clone with smile on her face.
Yeah, that was about the time in the movie where I stopped cheering and started feeling bad about what's actually happening. In my head, I just thought "Oh yeah...she a kid...oh my God she's a kid...dying alone and Adalaide was giving her the only sign of motherly affection as she slowly passes away." Then the Pluto death happened only to compound that feeling. Even worse when you realize Pluto was the least malicious of the tethered Willson if at all.
When umbrae was dying up on the tree, why did she try to grab adelaide?

It was a great detail; Zora was in the process of rejecting her talent as a runner where Umbrae displays a "passion" for running after her victims. She doesn't chase you without making sure she's limber. It was also creepy to just see a child crinkle their joints without reaction.

It all makes sense now her laughing when she was dying was supposed to represent her actually crying and reaching out to addie for help not tryna grab her and addie is telling her to “sh sh” like when you’re trying to hush a baby from crying. Umbrae was born laughing bc Zora like any other baby was born crying.

The fact so many overlook the meaning behind the scene from 6:20 and up. The fact that Adelaide was trying to shush her or whatever she was doing instead of being traumatized to see her daughter's clone die in front of her eyes. I remember wondering why she was so calm about it but yea, now I know why and it makes this scene even more understandable.

@@diane505 Because "Adelaide" was a Tethered as well, instead of seeing "her child" die, it was more of seeing one of "her people" die. Her shushing could be interpreted as, "I know. I know. Let go. It's over." She wasn't so much trying to comfort Umbrae as she was just trying to get her to quietly die. "Adelaide" knew the children were only accessories to "Red's" plan and were still too cognitively young to even understand why they were killing, but also knew that "Red" was only targeting her personally, so she tried to avoid conflict with other Tethered (which you see when they threaten her own children).

Rewatching the film in various scenes, it kinda makes sense why Adelaide would leave the car to check on Umbrae since she would have been the daughter she'd have given birth to if she had remained in the tunnels as a clone.

Umbrae represents the opposite of zora in my eyes zora was under the car, umbrae was ontop of it. Zora was probably crying when born, umbrae was laughing. When zora was crying, umbrae was smiling and laughing. Umbrae was technically crying and reaching out to Addlaiene but she has to do the opposite and laugh while dying. Also I would like to point out another scene of the movie that shows this, just like how the youngest of the family (I forgot his name) his teather would copy him. When Addlaiene was dancing on a stage doing ballet, red was underground doing the same thing, and when Addlaienes dad gave her the shirt, reds dad gave her the same shirt, so all the teathers underground either try to copy what their human is doing currently or minutes later or they have the choice to do the opposite

I feel so bad Adelaide was trying to show motherly affection to umbrae because she knows that that’s technically her biological kid, after all she is the real tethering in that situation, the same went for pluto when he was backing up into the fire that’s technically her biological child, not Jason and Zora, Jason and Zora are red’s kids and gabe was meant to be her husband, not Abraham.
No Jason and Zora are adelaides real biological kids. She gave birth to them so ofc they are. She is just also connected to unbrae and Pluto because they were supposed to be her kids. They are her species and she knows that.

The funniest part was hearing Gabe grunting and stuff and I thought he was going to die like at the start. It feels like that other movie I watched during my Freshman year where a character keeps calling another character's name so many times and yells it constantly and my classmates laugh because of the repetitiveness of the constant calling that the character on that other film kept doing. That is why I find it funny at the start when Zora was about to get chased by Umbrae and I kept hearing Gabe like grunt indicating that he isn't going to die.
