it disturbs me, i interpret it as desperate call of help yet at the same time knowing help will never come. so she just hums her heart out, like a bird inside a cage. who sings a beautiful yet sad song.
The most interesting part is that she doesn't have some stort of goal that she thrives on, like other villains do. Usually villains have some stort of goal wether that be "i was treated terribly so I'm going to treat everyone else bad" or "this world is rotten. So I'm going to clean" its not none of those things. She does it to survive, and to keep all her memories with all the children, and she probably hopes one day that she'll be free
she's not one of the cliche villians where "Oh no I was bullied" or "my parents died" and ending up trying to cause mass genocide. Isabelle only does what she did because she didn't want the children to suffer.

"Well Ray, I did it to survive, longer than anyone else." I think she meant that she did it for survival and for her own sanity. She don't want a meaningless death. Remember the chapter when she told Emma to just give up because resisting just prolongs the suffering. She accepted her fate and did a way to live. She's not happy seeing her children get shipped at all but she can't help them. All she could do was to make them experienced such fruitful and happy life before they could be shipped. For me, she is such a brave woman. Sometimes living is an act of courage. anyways this is just my point of view. no hate. peace

Umm you're kinda on the wrong track here.......the only way for a human to survive was to become a caretaker of the factories and to do that she had to get pregnant and give birth to pass the test for the examination! That's how Ray was born! That's what she meant when she said she gave birth to Ray to survive longer than others(who were unfortunate enough to not be qualified to become a caretaker)

@@asmorae3732 the manga is much better tho. i never watched ss2 (have already seen ss1, it was good) cus i heard they left out A LOT of arcs and it was a huge flop. i read the manga starting from chapter 37, i didnt think i would finish it but i kept reading it and it was pretty phenomenal. if you havent seen ss2 i highly recommend reading the manga starting from chapter 37 :)

I wish the last episode of the second season wasn't so rushed. It would have been great to see them in the human world. Especially Isabella, now that she could keep her kids. I want to read the manga just to know how she did, what she did.
The manga has a completely different Arc we didnt see in the anime, the goldy pond arc and different endings and fates too plus characters we didnt meet in the anime so I do suggest reading it ☺
The second season cut out a lot of new characters, character development, and important information regarding the plot. I greatly suggest reading the manga.

I think the art shows a lot, the butterfly represents freedom and isabelle when she was younger is trying to chase after it to get freedom but then we see isabelle as a mom with a smile that seems like she is tired of this really wishes for the kids to get freedom that she wasent able to get as a kid and with the lullaby in the background it makes isabellas story more sad and sucks we dont know much about her story 😭

oof, this song is so heartwarming and sad at the same time. isabella isn’t a bad person at all, she had no choice. she loved her kids, biological or not. she just misses the person she loved most.
As someone who comes from an abusive household with an extreme want to escape... this song is truly the best comfort for me. I even bought a music box off ebay that plays Isabella's Lullaby. This song just gives me hope that things will be okay and that I'll get into a safer situation. I listen to this every day and practically live off it. It's just so soothing to me, and reminds me of how Emma and the others managed to escape, and how Emma stayed strong through the temporary loss of Norman. I want to personally thank whoever made The Promised Neverland. This song is what keeps me going through everything life throws at me.

How sad that listening to this lullaby make me miss my mom so much. This past 7 years was really tough for me since she's passed away. So many things I wish I could tell or share my story with her. Listening to this feels like she is hugging me now, and telling me "it's okay to cry if you want to". That's will be the word she would told me if she's still here..

I totally feel the emotion in the music, like I can feel how painful she experienced throughout her life. She lost the person she loved, the children she took care of, and also her freedom but she still hold on. I literally cried while listening because it is too painful.

This song is played as an affirmation of a mother's eternal love for her child as well as a bit of sadness due to the loss of an important person in the past. And finally, the person who impressed me the most after watching this anime was the mother, who was extremely in-depth fr 12/26/2023
This popped up on my feed and now I’ll play it on repeat. The singer has such a contagious voice, one can’t help but listen.
Best of both worlds
People often forget that, while being evil is a choice, it can often be a tough choice. But she chose herself over the children she lead to slaughter, so, despite the sad backstory, she was still somewhat evil. Also she did break a child's bone, so that's still a canon event.
What she was doing was clearly wrong. She thought there was no way out, though, and thus did what she considered best given the restricted life they had in front of them.
Her 1 goal was to make sure that if she was going to survive that she would make sure the children in her care would have the most fruitful lives…breaking Emma’s bones saved her in a way. She needed to break Emma’s spirit otherwise her death would’ve been more agonizing.

I'm sorry I found this too late. Beautiful, absolutely beautiful. I'm at a loss, your lyrics, the way it flows and showcase Isabella's true feelings, it's the unspoken warning, the Morse caution of dread she wants to project but in Morse code. This is an intelligent message that I never thought of, if the author actually did incorporate lyrics to portray her intentions I would've shattered if they were anything like this. Isabella wasn't able to cry but listening to this song while reading these lyrics makes me bawl worse than I ever did. I'll never not stop thinking about these lyrics while listening to this. 😢😭

I remember when I forgot how to cry. I could still get sad but I never expressed it. It took 4 years to finally be able to cry again. What made me forget was after my grandfather died. I was young enough to understand death, but I couldn’t fully process that he was the one who had died. I was about 9 when he died? I’m almost 16 now and I cry almost every day now. At least with losing the ability to cry I could hold in my emotions and move through the sadness, but now if I’m overly stressed I just shut down and sob for an hour or two until I can function semi-normally again.
