This is my version of the song from "Ronja Rövardotter / Ronia the robbers daugther" written by our most loved Swedish writer, Astrid Lindgren , whose books have been read all over the world. This song from the movie has always been very dear to me.
For a long time now I wanted to make my own version of it, and make some small changes in the melody. What do you think? :)
I really hope you will enjoy my version of this song!
The Swedish lyrics and translation can be found both further down here in the description, or in the subtitles of the video.
Text: Astrid Lindgren
Original song/music by: Björn Isfält
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR WATCHING AND LISTENING! ♥
Lyrics of the text and translation can be found in the comments :)
Quick fact: No one Searched for her But are glad we found her
Im subbed to her. You should too.
I think I first found her tree sap video in my feed. Fell in love with her vibe and energy. Nothing else gives the same feeling that her videos do.
I searched for her. My brother showed me her video on kulning, and I was very interested as I myself am Swedish and want more about our traditions.
Very true
I searched lol
wanna inform the viewers on here that this lullaby is still being sung for our swedish children at night. I grew up hearing my mom sing it and now I sing it to my son. she truly capture the magic.
Fantastic
Thank you!
Thank you for sharing. I sit with my eyes closed and imagine you all sitting with your elders (or vice versa) for a lullaby on your homes.
My grandmother always sang this lullaby to me and my sister at the night. She died a few months ago and whenever i sing this it is like a tribute to her
Thanks for sharing, and for passing this beautiful song to your child/children.
People who have never heard a wolf howl in the forest in winter will sadly never know what a magical moment it really is.
So true.
And terrifying... the ancestors hear it through us.
Magical, if you have solid shelter. If you're sleeping in a tent, less magical and more terrifying.
I have unfortunately never heard a wolf howel in the forest in my life yet
I had a pack of wolfs travel along me while I was mushing 6 years ago they we’re actually so close I could touch them if I wanted to I’ve always had a some what wolf guid the wolf on the hill 4 years ago the wolf walking behind me when I was sleeping in -45 with my one dog
Hi, my family is from Sri Lanka. One day, this song popped up while we were trying to feed lunch to my 8-month-old son. Something unexpected happened: my baby ate without a problem. I thought it was because of the wolf in the video, but I soon realized he liked the song. Not just wolves; every night before going to sleep, we play this song for him, and sometimes he falls asleep to it.
Happy to hear that. Love to Sri Lanka from Sweden 🇸🇪
This is what I love about the internet and one of the few things that makes it feel worth it despite all the harm it causes. Someone from Sri Lanka would have NEVER heard a lullaby from northern Sweden before. I think its beautiful how we can connect from so far away now.

There are some studies that even with lack of consciousness, a person can still hear and recognize sounds at his surroundings, there is a story of a medic that described one of the most beautiful experiences on field, a patient in bad shape, being transported in ambulance, pulse was fast, patient shaking and sweating, but a paramedic grabbed the hand of the patient and told him, “don’t worry, you are not alone, we are with you” then the pulse got stable, and he stoped shaking and sweating. So I’m very sure, your mother heard the song, may her soul Rest In Peace. So sorry for your loss

Is it just me or is this lullaby hauntingly beautiful?
it's not just you 🥰
This song, this lullaby It satiates a longing I’ve had for a long time hidden. For peace, for rest, for respite among the seas around filled with the pain of others I take on in order for life to flourish. And sadly I have went too far, I have lost parts of myself, and I cannot truly be whole anymore without what I’ve given. This, however, puts the discordance and unrest to a state where it no longer hurts. Thank you Jonna, you have put me and other parts of my existence to peace for the time being until it’s called upon again.

Reason 85% of the earth can not see the winterway and all its stars are due to lightning from cities and towns. Most of the lights from sources are going upwards. There are solution to this where the equipment block lights from going up, but there is a reason they dont want us humans to see the clear sky. I just wish the entire humanity would wake up soon and realize we are nothing but slaves. A few people controll this world, we the many could make this a paradise. But fear is what is stopping you all. Only thing to do is to kill all the leaders, and the police that will protect them. I know its sad but there are no other way. It will just get worse.

Hello, my name is Glenn. I agree with a lot of what you’ve said. The beauty of this lullaby has also captivated me. Long ago, The Vikings (my ancestors) also traveled to the land of England where many of my other ancestors originated. They also journeyed to what is now Russia, they were the Kyivan Rus. I think this explains the similarities that you and I hear between our native tongues and the words that are spoken in this otherworldly Lullaby.

1:11 Twice I've played this to my daughter and twice she's fell fast asleep in my arms❤
This girl literally made me love Swedish and Norwegians and respect them so much more!!WOW!!!
Tusen takk!!! It means alot to have people appreciate our culture
@@rune0742 your culture is very beautiful
How about finland, denmark, iceland ans greenland.
@@frost.0707 Dont forget about the Faroe Islands :)
Indeed, it’s like watching Narnia movie in real.
My 3 year old daughter falls to sleep to this song, every night. She has had trouble earlier, but after playing this she has no problems sleeping. Thank you Jonna
Bet she was a viking in a past life
Try Suo Gun as well. My kids are 18 and 16 and still listen to it along with several other welsh, nordic, celtic, and scottish music to go to sleep. fixed for spelling
@@shadowstarofdyingsuns8687 yeah she's got viking blood running in her veins
well then it is a good thing she does not understand it.
I hope your little girl doesn't wake up with an urge to raid East Anglia's villages and monasteries. LoL. Cherish each moment and make many memories because they grow up fast
I search the Translation for this song apparantly it's about a mother trying to protect her child from a hungry wolf by giving him some leftovers. Truly beautiful ❤
ZenVibesChannel33 music for you
This is the channel didn't know we needed.
I was just thinking the same thing!

I just wonder to see the beauty of nature as well as..............
I'm Asian but this makes me want to live like her. It seems fulfilling and magical to spend each day with nature. Such a peaceful life to live away from the citylife
Look up your own cultures history and youll probably see many paralells, this is sadly far away from what the swedish life is nowadays
@@ThirrinDiamondnot for everyone. A lot of us still live in small communities far away from cities. I spend a lot of time out in nature.
No she probably lives in the city. This is just a production.
Your ethnicity matters not. Be welcome around our fires and be watchful of wolves.
Haha. This song says: my child you can not take. So you asian think this is beautiful? The peace you're talking about......you would not survive there......I know, I'm from there
I feel connected to spirit this song reminds me of our connection.thank you Jonna for sharing the beauty of your spirit through song 🌹
IT is possible that the wolf will came but he will definitely sit with hiis muzzle on his paws to listen to the beautiful and tender Voice he the end he will leave moved ..Thank You so much, wonderful Song .
This lady should be contracted by Amazon Studios to perform the songs for their new television series production of Lord of the Rings being filmed in New Zealand in collaboration with New Line Cinema.
Christopher J. Barnes YES, I am now going to be kinda disappointed if they don’t try to contact her.
Definitely so!
May she will be noticed from them 😊
@@rennamaudears5732 may she never boxed into the musical genre, music for movies. Respectfully , let the wolf run wild and free.
Or Netflix for the Witcher
Imagine if Jonna made a collaboration with Aurora... The magical duo 🤩✨
You are onto something!👍
Yessessss
IMAGINE THE POWER 💛🤧💛💖💛❤
Oh yess .... I was thinking about tha same
YASSSS
I am still listening to this.. it gives me peace...I love the wolf and hope that they will be around forever....thankyou..❤❤
Děkuji za tu krásu. 🙂
I played this to my little nephew at nap time. He kept asking me what those lyrics meant. I told him that I didn't know because it's a different language than ours (Spanish), so I told him that you don't need to understand the lyrics to understand the feelings, you just have to close your eyes and flow with the rhythm. He loved it, and before the song ended, he fell asleep on my chest. Thank you so much for this Jonna, your voice does not only put kids to sleep, but also fades away my sorrows for a moment. And that's a wonderful gift.
The Wanderer Oh, this gave me a tear in my eye. How beautifully written and such wise words. ❤️
🌺 Beautiful !
Soooo beautiful!! ❤️🙏 Makes my heart smile to know that you played this song for your little nephew and explained so beautifully how you can still listen and feel without understanding a word. Thank you so much for sharing this with me ❤️🙏
The Wanderer This is so beautiful! "You don't have to understand the words to understand the feelings" so true!
Its Swedish, not Spanish
this makes me feel a very specific way. nostalgic of something I never lived

Do you know who your ancestors are? We inherit all sorts of things through our DNA: trauma, experience, elation, muscle memories.
Exatamente
Are past and future are nothing everything is present we feel what has happened and what will happen
Her singing this song it is giving me major goosebumps just wow
I found out most of my ancestors were Vikings, Icelandic,Norway I had heard your song before this and fell immediately in love,i try to sing it in your language and i notice some of the worrds sound okay others not so much, I also am of German descent and it seemed there might have been some in there but i could be wrong ,all I know is that it touches me so deeply❤
Check out " Garmarna - Herr Mannelig " here on KZhead, you'll definately like that rendition of an ancient swedish folk song.
I don't know why, but I've had a deep connection with this song, and this is the first time I hear it... I never felt something like this... 😳
@janeen2311 Have you read books by Gary Zukav? I have.. It's how we need to start to be
@janeen2311 its very enlightening. He's on here too
@@Stephanie-vx4zi thank you so much for your recommendation! 😊🙌🏼
Swedish folk music does that
You should give a listen to the original in the Ronja movie. Search for "vargsången ronja".
I was pregnant and about to give birth to my son when I found this cover... I fell in love instantly and added it to his lullaby list. I've been singing it to him ever since. He's 2 years and 2 months old now. 42 million views! I can see we're not alone. :)
Beautiful 💕💫 best to you
if this is his lullaby i m not going to be surprised if he is already 6 feet
I want to sing this song to my baby too. 🚼 I love this cover.
And I’m the person number 222... Who like your comment.
@@DeepanshuDhali i mean im 6ft and 4inches so i think this creates vikings as my mothersang this to me when i was a child
This song makes me feel like I'm wandering alone, but I'm never completely alone, the simplicity of this song enchants me, I'm definitely going to show it to my children.🖤
Not only I Sweden 🇸🇪 I do love listening every night before I sleep here in Nigeria 🇳🇬 West Africa ❤❤
Missed your magical calming voice. Puts me at ease and the wolves add a whole spiritual level on top of it. Amazing!!!
Thank you so much! ❤️🙏
I just get this weird feeling while I listen to this. Like i’m not in the right place.. at the right time... I just feel like i’m not HOME. I don’t know how to explain it...
yOUR NOT THE ONLY ONE.
You explained perfectly
Sehnsucht.
"In anxiety one feels uncanny. Here the particular indefiniteness of that which Dasein finds itself alongside in anxiety, comes proximally to expression: the "nothing and nowhere". But here "uncanniness" also means "not-being-at home." [das Nicht-zuhause-sien]. In our first indication of the phenomenal character of Dasein's basic state and in our clarification of the existential meaning of "Being-in" as distinguished from the categorical signification of 'insideness'. Being-in was defined as "residing alongside . . .", "Being-familiar with . . ." This character of Being-in was then brought to view more concretely through the everyday publicness of "they", which brings tranquilize self-assurance -- 'Being-at-home', with all its obviousness -- into the average everydayness of Dasein. On the other hand, as Dasein falls, anxiety brings it back from the absorption in the 'world'. Everyday familiarity collapses. Dasein has been individualized, the individualized as Being-in-the-world. Being-in enters into the existential 'mode' of the "not-at-home". Nothing else is meant by our talk about 'uncanniness'." (House of leaves, Mark Z. Daneklewski, p25)
Saaaame.
Beautiful and soul-soothing 🧘🏻♀️🪷🦋 🕊️ Thank you for this magical creation, divine one 🌝💜🧡💚
Sounds like a lullaby to Swedish children, Love to Sweden🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪
Why do I feel so connected to this type of music....it's like coming home.
I commented something similar on another song from someone else. Honestly it does something to the soul. My whole body gets chills & sometimes I find myself teary eyed lol it's nostalgic & simply soul touchingly beautiful
Passion..
Same and it's not even my culture.
Even I feel soooo connected to this type of a haunting and mysterious music..i am from India and i absolutely feel like i belong to Norway..though I can never love in the winters..but i absolutely love the night, and the mystery
Its deeply imbibed into your psyche- your DNA. In your soul really.
