    • Yeah because of her "dull" colors :(. I'm really glad this girl took her home and didn't care about that. I'm trying to get 2 conures and the price difference on colors is insane. From 475 to 2200. I really don't care what color they are, they're not for showing off. I just want some little buddies. But it does make me sad when I see the super expensive ones are getting older and not being bought because people don't want to pay 4-5x the price for one just because it has a blue head.

I'm too old now to have another bird in the house but I am blessed to live on a lake so I have two white ducks who live on my dock and some to me when I call them. PLEASE be extremely careful if you allow they to fly in your home. I lost my cockatiel -- an error was made and he missed a shoulder and he was gone out the door. They are the fastest flying birds in the world. He was scared and excited and flew like a rocket straight up screaming all the way for me. • She reminds me of my cockatiel Nina, that I got as a birthday gift when I was around 10~ years old. She was the sweetest pet I ever had. Nina would climb the sofa to sit on anyone's chest so they can give her pets. She was very sweet, docile, and adorable. Also, whenever me and my family had to leave home, she would shout at the top of her lungs to us to come back, and we could hear her from the other street. Sadly, she passed way and probably she suffocated under the sofa covers (only my brother saw her and he was very young at the time and he doesn't remember quite well). Now I have a cockatiel named Chico. He is almost 1 year old and he is the funniest cockatiel I ever met. He loves to sing (even though he is a little tone deaf) and to shout whenever he is alone at the living room (he hates being alove even if he doesn't beg for attention when we give him company). He is a little more independent than Nina but he is still a curious little fella that likes head scratches. He mimicks the sound of water dripping whenever my dad is making coffee and he makes the sound of a door opening whenever he hears one. He gets quite angy when we leave him alone at home and he treats every tight space as if it was his nest. But I still love him alot. We can't wait to get him a new friend though. When quarantine ends, it's gonna take some time for him to get used to stay alone in the house, so we plan on getting another cockatiel to give him company :)

And she'd hear me wake up and would call for me and if I didnt come get her after a few minutes, she'd wolf whistle. When I'd get her out, she would tweet "mirror" so she had to go to the mirror and check her self out. Even my vet said he had never seen a bird who loved their owner like she did. She died of a stroke after I had her for 11 years. Me and my vet cried big time cause she was his favorite patient. Angel was my child before I had one of my own. I never forgot her and shes been gone since 2006. RIP Angel. Daddy misses you.

  • What a gorgeous, affectionate bird. I had a cockatiel for 17 years and she would only let me near her. She would see me coming along the path to the house after work and i could hear her calls from the end of the long path. Every day i would go straight to her cage once i was home and i would open the door and she would climb out and to the top of the cage then fly onto my shoulder. Sometimes she would sleep on my bedroom door and the week she passed away while i was trying to sleep she would fly down and land on my pillow and spend the night right next to me which was unusual for her but made sense once she died. She was a good age and died of natural causes and I’ll remember that day till i die....i knew something was wrong and as i held her in my hands she let out a little chirp and took her last breath. I was so heartbroken and even to this day it brings a tear to my eyes thinking about that day😢 I never knew how affectionate and playful cockatiels could be...they are such wonderful birds❤️

  • I had two of these loveable birds, the grey reminded me of the one I raised from a chick, she bonded with me, and cried whenever i left to go to work. We got her another one for company, but she only had eyes for me, we had them for about 20years. I was devastated when my lady bird died. And eventually her “mate” that we bought for her died also, we think from a broken heart. I still pine for her, as she was like a flying dog, always wanting to be with me, and flying around the house so she could see what i was up to. Enjoy your time with her, they give so much love, for such a tiny bird. ❤️ I couldn’t get another one, as I don’t think i could stand the heartache, of loosing another one like that.

What's wrong with colorful birds, why do you look down on them, after all, it's not their fault they are a different color...? What if I said to you because you have a less colorful bird that's just vanity and want to be praised for not getting a more colorful bird? See how being judgmental works...
