Funny to watch the cat sit down to be brushed. He must have known this was happening and seen the brush before. It funny how cat takes longer to warm to one person over another. Seven years is a long time to start to fully trust. I been renting with a brother for nearly five years. He has a Tonkinese cat and only in last 18 months did the cat totally trust. He never used to talk and now the cat always talks. Until then I thought Tonkinese cats did not meow much. It funny to watch a big Puma have the same nature as small cats but just a very different sound when they talk.
Yes, cats! It takes some time for them to warm up to us, humans. I am glad you were able to win your brother's cat's trust. Messi is okay with Masha; he lets her take care of him on rare occasions when Sasha is away. But Messi's love belongs to Sasha, unconditionally. Gerda, on the other hand, is Masha's girl. However, Messi is really warming up to Masha. And it's obvious. They are so lucky to have those cats. We all love Messi and Gerda. Thank you for your comment, Shaun!

So my kid is cracking me up about the Masha/Messi relationship. Among his theories: catnip on the brush, some need to impress Sasha and the theory of keeping your friends close and your food closer!
