Hi Ginny I am samir how are you?
Hello Ginny, nice to see you ☺️
OMG I found Ginny Di!!!
i’m here to practice an accent to respond to one of your POV roleplay videos. we have come full circle.
So fun going to learn an accent and seeing that other DND players used the same videos
I think Russian is such a beautiful language. I also love the Russian American accent. Stunning. I’m trying to learn.

It looks funny, but some basic phrases in English just don't make any sense when you don't know exactly what it means. :-D
you forgot to add multiple rrrrrrrr
It makes sense in portuguese too hahahahah
Since all the accents I wanna have include tongue rolling I am now forced to go look at tongue rolling tutorials
Just imitate a cats purr. That's pretty much rolling your r.

Black Widow brought me here. I LOVE Yelena's accent and I want to sound more Russian than my attempts. (I like how hers is a softer accent, but that'll be because she's English)
OMG SAME. I LOVED YELENA BCOZ SHE IS JUST SO WHOLESOME. SHE BROUGHT ME HERE.
THIS IS WHY IM HERE LOL
Me to!! Lol
My Russian roommate says anyone who speaks English very well will sound more like Yelena. He says you typically hear the more harsh Russian accent in films whereas Yelena is more realistic
@@gatewayrealtor664 I liked her soft Russian accent. It was very nice to listen to.
Just here to learn a new accent, always loved the way Russians speak. Also, I enjoy narrating my life out loud 97% of the time. Lol thanks!
Can't believe i am watching a video about learning Russian from English considering the fact that my mother language is Russian.
got about half way into learning Russian and then realized I couldn’t do the accent
Yup
Basically same except I'm not half way yet ;w;
You can, just practice how they use tjere mouth, tongues and rhythm and practice hiw they say the words like R, w, Th as she explained. Hope helped:)

I'm a Brazilian and our accents when speaking English are very similar. So, I can understand you clearly. Um grande abraço!
Realmente, muitos sotaques que temos aqui no Brasil são bem parecidos com os da Rússia. Isso ocorre porque temos muitos hábitos de pronúncia na leitura semelhantes, como por exemplo: The restaurant: os norte-americanos pronunciam: dê restauran. Enquanto isso, nós pronunciamos o T, igualmente aos eslavos.
I have always said this but no one has ever concurred with me until now. I’m a native English speaker with no proficiency in Russian or Portuguese, and it’s just about impossible to distinguish the two languages when I hear them. Now I know I’m not crazy… lol.
@@janetbradley202 yeah, you're not crazy hahaha I am a native Portuguese speaker and I agree with you

Also pronouncing e like "yeah" so instead of "help" it would be "hyelp" and you ring "zah byells" instead of "the bells"
Now I ooonderrr stand!!!
Yes. Е and Ё are pronounced as ye and yo. ещё = yeshyo Very important.

Actually yeah you’re right 😂, In Russian the latter “е” pronounced the same as “yea”
Allsu pRrunyounsink iye liek “iye” so instyead oov “hyelp” eat vould be “hyelp” and eyiou rink zah byells. Ja? Nie?
Russians sound when they talking English just like AK47 sound

That was an amazing instructional video. She made out key points to focus on instead of just speaking with the accent which is what most people do. I really apprecited that video.
I love this 😂😂😂best accent ever!!
Yeah me too best russian accent 😍
There is nothing good or funny or fun in objectivization based on the way you speak, that pretty often happens online. But people who never felt that never think about that. To them it is Fun

Thank you DnD, for bringing me here so a centaur girl from my worlds equivalent of Siberia traveling to a summer camp can have parents with the same accent as herself :)
there was a short period of time where I had trouble understanding my friend because they would make these simple mistakes and I would make similar mistakes in russian. now I can have a conversation with them in English or russian and we both understand each others mistakes laugh about it for a moment and then keep the conversation moving it makes our friendship much more fun and interesting.
This was fun. Thank you, Taya.
Thank you so much! Trying to learn a Russian/English accent for fun. Very helpful.

this is a super helpful guide, thank you so much!
I wish you safety in these times and also thanks for the tutorial!
I think I remember seeing one of your videos in English language arts in 6th grade and the entire class got offended by the southern accent. This is in Texas when I had recently moved. Easily the best class so far lol
How are you I'm normal Mostly Russian reply me like this hahaha
Probably, because of нормально - "normalna". They use it to say I'm doing well / I'm fine.

But how can someone who doesn't know such basic phrases understand English? It doesn't make any sense.
@@Pidalin it’s called... Not everyone is American
@@kawaiibonbon4935 Those phrases are in first lesson of English in every school. When you speak English on communicative level, you must know them. And if you grew up in country where people speak English, you must know it too. There is no way how to learn English on communicative level and don't know what is "How are you?" or similar phrases. So people who respond with something weird actually don't speak English at all.
I am a little late to the game here but your explanation of the different pronunciation problems that I hear is great. Very informative, thank you!

People shouldn't try too hard to lose their accents when they come to English speaking countries. I love accents. Some of them sound irritating others sound beautiful. Its refreshing to have a variety of people we get to interact with.

Не, у неё есть акцент, но всё же смягчённый, а она говорит прям про топорный типа как у Radal. Хотя те, кто знает английский обычно всё же смягчают или стараются смягчить как она, но это очень сложно не погружаясь в среду носителей.
@@allystovts2489 в Америке как понимаю из словянских стран в первую очередь при произношении аля русском вспоминают именно о россии, а не украине. Кстати интересно как звучит англ с украинским ацентом. Предположу, что так же как и с русским потом у и путают

Your videos are always very interesting. Love you❤🇺🇸
The struggle is real, for years I had countless, pointless arguments with my fellow Russian colleague not because we were against each other, rather the lack of understanding of one another. It never crossed my mind that something that simple was the root of all arguments until one fine day, we both sat down over a coffee table and I start asking why he was such a pain to deal with, and he shared with me that he felt the same about me. Who could have thought that the culprit is the way we interpret English language, despite being the only language we both depend on to communicate. I get him to teach me what he knows about English language while I shared everything that made me who I become back then. Voila! Problem solved. It was a great lesson, and I am grateful for his sharing. Be kind to one another, ask if uncertain, assuming things never help.

Taya I have watched so many Ukrainian bloggers mostly young ladies & you are by far the most entertaining , informative beautiful & funny. Big thumbs up !!
what about when you say "than that" is it pronounced "zan zat?" or "dan zat?" i noticed some russians say "th = z" but I have seen some say that "th = d" so not sure why that is, if its different parts of russia with different accents or if its certain words that the th has a d or dh sound and others have a z or zh sound.
No ome says th - d, maybe some people heard this sound from somewhere, Indians pronounce th-d
Have you ever thought that, ad example, some people of US-of-A say d/t instead of voiced and unvoiced 'th'? They could follow the same pattern of pronouncing.

Learning other languages is always difficult. With English we have many words which sound the exact same but have different meanings and even similar spelling, For example : Bear or bare. Could mean an animal or naked or to carry a heavy burden or load. I tried to learn some Ukrainian a long time ago when I went to Slovakia to visit my relatives as it is a Slavic language. Sadly if you don't use it you lose it and I lost it and having to speak one word at a time is difficult and frustrating and hard for others to understand. If I remember it correctly we say : How are you doing and in Ukrainian it sounds like " How be it's with you" literally. Not every language has a literal step by step word translation. There is the fact that some Ukrainian in Canada is a watered down version with bits of English and Polish and German etc mixed in depending on who your neighbors were when growing up on a farm.. My Dad calls it barnyard Ukrainian and can hardly understand people speaking pure Ukrainian.
Extremely helpful & even more cute...
