    • Du Toit was massive. That tackle on Barrett after Handre's drop goal attempt was a pure destruction. Such a key moment, I think that was going to be an AB try if he didn't smash Barrett's momentum.

And they are right about it. No telling what the result would have been with a complete AB Team but this leaves a very nasty mark again. In no way is that the SA Teams fault. • I am a huge football fan and I've never understood nor pay much attention to Rugby. But since maybe 2 years ago, I started with clips, then highlights, then full matches. I used to live in Hounslow so Twickenham was close by, unfortunately I never watcched a match. Now, I am starting to love rugby more, I love how classy, respectful, well behaved yet brutal, fast, very physical also very technical. I hope Rugby catches on more and get popular among the youths and the masses.

    • Absolutely! Not a shadow of a doubt. It should have been red and a long term ban. For all the skill that NZ has in their rugby pool, they have always struck me as one of the dirtiest teams in terms of bad spirited tactics. Like how they used to deliberately slow down the game in the 90s or intentionally collapse scrums for resets when a team was attacking in their 22, or take frequent water breaks to break the momentum of teams, or McCaws subtle breaking of laws, or influencing of referees to red card players for nothing (thinking Bismarck du Plessis tackling Dan Carter) and here we have Frizell intentionally injuring an opponent to weak the opposition. All other things remaining equal, the Boks were worthy winners of the final based purely on that dirty move by Frizell. Sadly the ABs have persistently tarnished their image over the years. In terms of dirty play, I put them in the same league as Argentina.

  • Valiant indomitable ferocious AB's.... resolute relentless unwavering Boks....2 kicks by the AB's and the end would have been different. Even though my boys won, I still need some therapy after weeks of astounding guts, ball to the wall, 1 point bloody finals. Sheesh. Craziest RWC I've ever seen. Bokke!! If I also may add..... 209 successful tackles by ONE side in a RWC Final.... when have you EVER seen that.... speaks to the quality of the Boks AND the Kiwis. Unreal man, unreal man.

After the end whistle, the party rocked on until 4am.

  • Can the rugby world just wake up and smell the roses. This is the best team ever. Put the 2015 nostalgia aside. We are living in a special time where a team, full of injuries, took the hardest path ever to a final. And won it against their rivals. (Who everybody thinks they are the best even aftet the final, which I find ridiculous) If that does not mean you are the best in the world or the best team ever then I don't onow what does. (Win ratio does not matter, the trophy cabinet with the 4 world cups is all that matters)

Some people will tell you that if you play great and come up just short, it is much better than getting blown out by 50. That is complete nonsense. Winning is all that matters, regardless of if it's by one or fifty, and losing by one is the exact same as losing by 50.

The Springboks have won 4 World Cups, the most of any nation, with New Zealand in second place with 3. In this World Cup the Springboks took the hardest route to the victory of any nation in history, playing all 5 other teams in the top 6 World Rugby rankings. South Africa performed with an 80% win ratio against the other top 6 sides with Ireland in second place at 66%. But SA was the only team that played all 5 of their counterparts in the top 6. Games against top 6 teams in the world: South Africa - played 5, won 4 Ireland - played 3, won 2 New Zealand - played 3, won 1 France - played 2, won 1 Scotland - played 2, won 0 England - played 1, won 0

We the fans KNEW SH teams would come out tops. World rankings mean nothing to a world cup performance, so go figure how the pundits got it so wrong. After all, we're all making an emotional choice right? Of course yes. If the pundits knew their stuff as they're expected to, they would have called in favour of SH teams historical performances: SH = 8 (now 9) to NH = 1. Their math never maths when it comes to SA. So Saffas best chill and enjoy our B2B win!❤🇿🇦

    • As a Kiwi, I concur. Monster defence. Well deserved. Four time champions speaks for itself. They earned it.

  • This is what world champions should be. Not like a matchup between a team from California vs a Texas and claim the winner as world champions

  • New Zealand back-to-back in 2011-2015 and now South Africa in 2019-2023. I hope they play each other again in the 2027 final. 😅 It's just an amazing rivalry. 👏🏽 🇿🇦 🇳🇿
