See no evil. Hear no evil.
#SpeakNoEvilMovie only in theaters September 13.
-----
When an American family is invited to spend the weekend at the idyllic country estate of a charming British family they befriended on vacation, what begins as a dream holiday soon warps into a snarled psychological nightmare.
From Blumhouse, the producer of The Black Phone, Get Out and The Invisible Man, comes an intense suspense thriller for our modern age, starring BAFTA award-winner James McAvoy (Split, Glass) in a riveting performance as the charismatic, alpha-male estate owner whose untrammeled hospitality masks an unspeakable darkness.
Speak No Evil stars Mackenzie Davis (Terminator: Dark Fate, Halt and Catch Fire) and SAG award-winner Scoot McNairy (Argo, A Quiet Place Part II) as American couple Louise and Ben Dalton, who, along with their 11-year-old daughter Agnes (Alix West Lefler; The Good Nurse, Riverdale), accept the weekend-holiday invitation of Paddy (McAvoy), his wife Ciara (Aisling Franciosi; Game of Thrones, The Fall) and their furtive, mute son Ant (newcomer Daniel Hough).
Written for the screen and directed by James Watkins, the writer-director of Eden Lake and the award-winning gothic ghost story The Woman in Black, Speak No Evil is based on the screenplay of the 2022 Danish horror sensation Gæsterne, written by Christian Tafdrup and Mads Tafdrup. That film earned 11 Danish Film Awards nominations, the Danish equivalent of the Oscars.
Speak No Evil is produced by Jason Blum (Five Nights at Freddy’s, M3GAN) for Blumhouse and by Paul Ritchie (McMafia, The Ipcress File) and is executive produced by Beatriz Sequeira for Blumhouse, Jacob Jarek and Christian Tafdrup.

    • This is absolutely wild on all levels. Why is there the need to remake the original? It was nearly flawless, AND it was mainly in English so I don't see the problem as far as language goes. And yeah, they manage to give away THE WHOLE PLOT in a 3 minute trailer, it makes watching the whole movie almost redundant. That being said, the trailer for the original movie also did that. Both trailers are almost a carbon copy.

      @Ceruleannn@Ceruleannn19 күн бұрын
    • I’m almost positive they didn’t do a scene for scene recreation. But instead gave away the original most important scenes in the trailer. You can tell they added a bigger part for the boy. They most definitely cut out the middle easterner because…. You know why.. And they forsure changed the ending my guess is they escape w/ the boy and the insane killer couple somehow also escape, which cuts to a scene of them coxing another family in vacation.

Reality check is not for the generation that grew up watching these films and either you know there’s new generations, right you’re not the only generation around there’s new generations remakes for the newer generations, because there are people from this generation, I guarantee you would like to remake when they would like the original. How does some remakes I like more than the original, and the summer originals I like more than the remakes, but I’m not complaining about it, but again don’t say they say don’t neutered because not everybody that stop being so selfish say you don’t feel like you need it cause whatever don’t watch it nobody’s forcing you to watch it you guys act like he’s forcing you watch it don’t change anything we have in the originalbut just simply don’t watch it simple that

The mother was aggressive and angry when they were yelling at someone else's kid, but when her's in is danger, she's' suddenly weak and docile to the point where she lies down and just let's two unarmed people kill her by chucking a few stones?

  • What made the original so remarkable and impactful was how bleak everything was. How “non-cinematic” it was crafted and real it felt. By the looks of it, they’re going to give us another sanitised version of the original story, because they can’t handle tragic stories that stick with you long after the credits roll. Reminds me of the car crash that was the Martyrs remake. Anyway, James McAvoy looks fit so I guess we have that to look forward to 😂

I was comparing this remake to the way they remade Martyrs, and the guy above was simply saying this trailer was a remake of the Danish one. Two separate things! 😂 Pascal’s movie is the original, and they made a 2015 remake. Speak No Evil is originally Danish (spoiler filled video on my channel if you wanted to check it out 😅) and this trailer is the english remake only a couple years after the original was released.

  • I don't get why this is being remade. The original was a Danish film, but the two couples in the story are Danish and Dutch respectively, with the result being that the couples speak to each other in English. Why remake an English language film for, presumedly, an English speaking British/American audience? Why not just release the original? Why would anyone go to see what I'm guessing will be another toothless PG13 Blumhouse horror movie when the original is readily available already? This is strange one.

The remake looks like it’s gonna be a thriller and very action packed while the original was eerily slow paced to build tension, which makes it effective.
