quite literally as someone who reads as well i’m genuinely so excited for this movie! i’m so intrigued to see how the directors and writers interpret tarot and how accurate their research is. it has the potential to be a really great film

People afraid of pulling the Death card should see the imagery on Ten of Swords in some of the "edgier" decks. Now THAT is a card with an almost universally accepted negative meaning. Also known as the "ruin", "tragedy", "inevitable doom" card. But I don't expect the movie to delve into the Minor Arcana because of course it won't.
I love how Trevor Henderson (creator of Siren head) is the designer for the entities! His designs need to be represented in films more often!

Not another piece of media misrepresenting the 'Death' card. Hopefully they'll point that out, because it basically just means the end of something and a new beginning. The tower card is the one you should (edit: mostly, although not necessarily) be wary about. Still, looks like it's more based on the (pretty awesome) art and not really what the cards really mean.
You shouldn't always be wary of the tower. Sometimes there are good tower moments.

I get that, although candles are a symbol of the connection/transition between the physical (the candle itself), and the spiritual realms (as the candle burns and it's energy changes), which is why they're a thing.

When people think of Horoscopes, they automatically think of the Sun signs aka Zodiac signs (Aries, Libra, Gemini). So I think it was best to call it Tarot to make it more relatable to the plot (Devil, Hanged Man, Hermit, Death).
@@OMguyhait Yes, it makes more sense because, in the book, the characters get killed off in ways predicted by their horoscopes, which is astrology, not tarot cards so why they'd keep the same name but change a major part of the premise seemed weird.

I’m a reader, as many people in these comments and I just feel like divination in general gets more than enough negative press and is perceived by so many people as taboo. The only movie/tv show I've ever seen actually know what it's talking about with tarot was an episode of Criminal minds. This guy was leaving the death card as his calling card and Hotch says that the killer doesn't know tarot very well because it doesn't mean a literal death, just the end of something and the beginning of something new. I was very impressed.

@@MrDrkNoirThey would belong to us if we bought them lol. But regardless, yes it is an unspoken rule cuz it can mess with the energy of the deck. But it also depends on the reader. I personally don’t like when people use my decks because they’re sacred and personal to me, but it’s always important to cleanse beforehand and after hand just in case.

I can already tell they failed to consult any actual tarot readers, wiccans, pagans, metaphysical shop owners, phone psychics , renaissance faire palmstry volunteers, or witchy goth chicks before making this movie. Not even a cursory google of the card meanings?? At least the creature designs are super cool.
Nah, keep the witchy goth chicks out of that, all they can contribute is which essential oil to combine with a sun sign and rocks to cure cancer. Tarot card readers are the best sources for information, and honestly New Orleans has so many that work here there's an abundance of people to ask, yet we see this...

How many major arcana cards would be in the movie? Hopefully we'll get unique kills for each of them . I'm excited for the Thirteen Ghosts mini-series because although I didn't watch it when it came out but watched it at school actually I did find it very interesting and an awesome concept .

Trailer seems to give away a little too much of the movie. Now we know they're going to be attacked by Midler in a submarine, beat up by Joseph Joestar, lit on fire by Abdul, farted on by Iggy, attacked in their sleep by Death 13, and then presumably J. Geil is going to repeat what he did to Polnareff's sister. Although maybe there will be a scene where they draw The Star and then get Ora Ora'd

The movie reminds me of Thirteen ghosts movie. It's an old horror movie that has a different story for sure, but the introduction for every demonic entity is pretty similar to the old one. Well, I like that trailer about Tarot, so I'll watch it for sure :)

Been reading tarot for 25 years, I love that this is a physical manifestation of the havoc the cards feel like they deliver at times 😂. The deck drawings are cool. Movie looks corny but that describes about 90 percent of horror movies these days 🤷🏻♀️.

OK, although this might be entertaining to watch, this doesn't necessarily help break the thoughts of super religious people (like my folks) who were taught and taught me this was evil....lol So, now that I read Tarot, have a channel for reading as well, if by chance they see just this commercial they gonna be terrified even more so of me and the fact they will think I'm going to hell hahahahaha 😅😂😊

If you read cards in a fear state all the cards will give you is your fears back to you. I think to truly understand the cards one should be a student of Neville Goddard's teachings. You are just having a conversation with your own godhead within your own matrix and the cards clarify the energies around your own matrix. There are no rules to life - life is chaos and so are the cards. If you put rules on the cards you put rules on yourself. People who are superstitious should not be playing with any esoteric tools as their own bias fears will effect any answers given. Like poison... Your own fears and pain are actually the shadows in the dark.

As intrigued as I am for this, does anyone else feel the trailer showed a bit too much? It seems like we saw all the creatures from the cards and we possibly have seen one character’s guaranteed death from the ladder falling (supposedly) and even though we know most characters are doomed in these kinds of films, still could’ve left a few surprises. Possibly will be anyways.
