This was the movie I wanted to see most in theaters this year. Even bought my IMAX ticket the first day advance tickets went on sale here. I know why they have to do this but it still pisses me off. I can't afford the $30(my IMAX ticket was $10.50. Regular 2-D showing would have been $5.38) and I don't have the means or data to get Disney+ where I live. I'm hoping maybe sometime in 2021 0r early 2022 they might give it a theatrical run. F-ing virus.

I know later in the year they're hoping to do showings in select LA cinemas and then when more cinemas start opening around the world then they'll release it to cinemas. It does suck though that we need to pay an extra 30. It absolutely shattered me when I heard we had to pay that much just to see a movie even though I'd been looking forward to it all year.

@@xraye_ yeah but it doesnt make sense in the age of internet for a movie to do not be distributed everywhere at the same time... So like Usa & half Chinese citizens will see it, half of Europe won't... but when it arrives it will be too old here. I think a much better solution would be a DVD release for about 15-18$... that way the whole planet could enjoy from safety of their home

Unlocking Mulan at $30 on Disney + you can watch it as much as you want as long as you stay subscribed to Disney+. So you wouldn't have access if you paid $30 then dropped Disney+ in a month. If the $29.95 were for like a Blu-Ray/DVD combo pack with like a booklet I'd be the first one in line to get it.

You may not believe, but I been waiting for this movie a couple years already. From the days they mentioned remake Mulan. I used to watch every reaction video to the trailer and get emotional. I will support this movie no matter what, if I have to pay multiple times to rewatching, I'm willing to.

If you guys want know the reasons for the changes, Mushu is a Phoenix due to cultural appropriation, there’s a shapeshifting witch because China have beliefs in shapeshifters, Mulan doesn’t cut her hair because, cutting someone’s hair was considered a punishment and would have been a sign of disgrace, the songs will be background music and reflection will be sung in the end credits by Liu Yifei and Christina Aguliera, and shang is separated into two characters because the director thought it was weird that Mulan was dating and later married her own general Also for the whole thing about the actress supporting the hk police, she didn't do anything wrong, she was forced to do it, in order to protect her family, a lot of Chinese celebrities had the do the same, in order to keep themselves and their families alive It’s not their fault that HK is getting killed, I'm sure they want to save you but they can't since they have to follow order from their own country

In the original Mulan legend, her parent's actually knew she was leaving home and supported her, and the army actually knew early on that she was a girl and she eventually became leader of her army and lead the troops for years

Ok guys I saw it, it was pretty bad. I think the movie was put in the wrong hands...but then again this always happens to Asians, we get the short end of the stick when it comes to the entertainment industry.

Also it should have had an Asian director who understands how to film martial arts. God, the cinematography got so bad during fighting scenes. And the writing/dialogue seemed so off. Characters weren’t introduced properly and faded into the background. No chemistry between Mulan and any of the other characters were established. The movie was just in the wrong hands. Visually outstanding, but completely lacking substance. I’m not sure we Asians truly did get the representation we hoped for.

I was so super hyped for this movie. When I saw the first trailer I literally jumped from my desk. But I can't pay 30$ + The subscription. I literally only have 130$ in my bank account becouse I lost my job due to Corona. I was so hyped on the movie, Imactually thinking about to just stream on the internet, and then to just buy the movie when I have more money later,what I really don't what to do.

If you guys want know the reasons for the changes, Mushu is a Phoenix due to cultural appropriation, there’s a shapeshifting witch because China have beliefs in shapeshifters, Mulan doesn’t cut her hair because, cutting someone’s hair was considered a punishment and would have been a sign of disgrace, the songs will be background music and reflection will be sung in the end credits by Liu Yifei and Christina Aguliera, and shang is separated into two characters because the director thought it was weird that Mulan was dating and later married her own general Also for the whole thing about the actress supporting the hk police, she didn't do anything wrong, she was forced to do it, in order to protect her family, a lot of Chinese celebrities had the do the same, in order to keep themselves and their families alive It’s not their fault that HK is getting killed, I'm sure they want to save you but they can't since they have to follow order from their own country

In the original Mulan legend, her parent's actually knew she was leaving home and supported her, and the army actually knew early on that she was a girl and she eventually became leader of her army and lead the troops for years
The Disney version is somewhat close to the oldest written version of Mullan story, The Ballad of Mulan. She reveals herself as female to the fellow troops after 12 years.

You guys don't even know how proud I am as an Asian American to see a movie like this being released. We rarely ever get to see our own on the big screens. Second major film with a full Asian cast. It makes me so happy.

Ok guys I saw it, it was pretty bad. I think the movie was put in the wrong hands...but then again this always happens to Asians, we get the short end of the stick when it comes to the entertainment industry.
Also it should have had an Asian director who understands how to film martial arts. God, the cinematography got so bad during fighting scenes. And the writing/dialogue seemed so off. Characters weren’t introduced properly and faded into the background. No chemistry between Mulan and any of the other characters were established. The movie was just in the wrong hands. Visually outstanding, but completely lacking substance. I’m not sure we Asians truly did get the representation we hoped for.
I was so super hyped for this movie. When I saw the first trailer I literally jumped from my desk. But I can't pay 30$ + The subscription. I literally only have 130$ in my bank account becouse I lost my job due to Corona. I was so hyped on the movie, Imactually thinking about to just stream on the internet, and then to just buy the movie when I have more money later,what I really don't what to do.
