Puppy biting training is often on the top of the list for things that new puppy owners need to work on. If you're having puppy biting issues, it can really slow down your puppy training. The big mistake that a lot of people make is thinking that puppy-biting training is all about what to do when your puppy bites you. This is not the case. In lots of scenarios, the biggest changes will happen when you address some of the training issues before your puppy has ever started to nip or bite! In this video, Kayl is going to show you how to make better puppy leadership decisions, so you can get to the puppy snuggles sooner!

  • Couple problems i have with this: 1: My puppy hates the collar and while wearing it, she is preoccupied with scratching it for the most part. My family already doesn't want to heed the advice i give them and this makes them keep taking off the collar. 2: my puppy is not interested in food and even if she does eat, she doesn't seek more... and this while she eats less than the daily recommended amount.

  • Great videos. Those puppies are way calmer than my 15 week old standard poodle puppy. He fights the leash aggressively, bites everything and everyone and is totally wild when not sleeping , all the time. Trying with positive training and these tips but there are very few, if any, moments to reward.

He sat on the grass next to me and didn’t nip me once, then I took him back inside and then put him in his crate. I snuggled him, gave him a kiss and a treat for listening and he laid right down after a few sad looks. Now he’s asleep.

  • I am so glad you make these videos! We got two puppies, yes TWO, 3 weeks ago and I started watching your videos before we got them to get prepared. I've been able to teach them a bunch of tricks (most in the first week of having them!) and they have been crate trained since the first week. Only the first few nights were iffy, but by the end of the week they were fine. Now at week 3 they know "in" and go right on in! You've made my life easier!! Haha. Right now I am struggling with biting and some potty training issues, so going through your videos on that and looks like I need to tighten up and fine tune in some areas of their training. Thank you so much again, for making these videos!!! Next will be leash manners/pulling and rushing the door 🥴

I have a 8 week old female lab and she aint got her final vaccine yet so she cannot go outside. i have a crate (she loves it) and a fence that i put together so it kinda makes her home and "back yard". Inside the fence i put her "litter box" where she goes potty. Now i see a lot of people use crate and lock the door at night, but i dont lock it. My pup goes 1912412 times a night to the toilet. So basically i want to ask is it ok if the crate door is open and she can wonder around the crate and her backyard freely ?

  • I just got a chihuahua mix puppy, shes 8 weeks old. I cant get on the floor with her (doubt I could get up) so I do hold her on the couch. She does try to get up on the couch even if Im not on it and I dont want her to do that. Also when she gets too bitey and jumpy I'll pick her up and hold her tight until she settles. What can I do different?

  • We just got a lab puppy from the shelter, and because it's our first dog we bought her a kennel AND a gated fence area. Are you saying that we may be giving her too much free space? (Need only the kennel?) My gf and I both with from home and thought if she has the space she'd calm down, but she bites A TON. to be fair I rough house with her thinking that would burn the energy, but then she bites harder and gets us super frustrated😤

  • What about zoomies? Are they a sign we're not giving them enough opportunities to properly get their energy out? Or are they just an acceptable part of puppihood?

  • My puppy is having such a hard time with biting. She is not super food motivated right now so it’s hard to implement all the rewards that you talk about in your channel. I use lots of verbal praise, but she still doesn’t seem to learn how to be calm.

    • I saw your comment and I was wondering if your puppy got any better with not biting? I have a puppy and we are doing puppy classes but we aren't going over biting in class and my puppy is so aggressive with the biting. I just need some hope out there that it gets better 😩

    • I have same issue. She uses her open mouth for affection...not a big licker. I tried their collar technique of holding it and making a ouch 15:59 sound when she grabs my hand. It helps but still a struggle at 7 months old.

  • Question what if when you try to get your puppy to be calm and settle when you hold them tight or are trying to hold their collar and they get more aggressive and try to bite even more and start growling at you? We are trying to praise when he does the right thing and use treats to try and get him comfortable with us holding his collar? But at times when he is biting are hands or furniture he sometimes gets more aggressive?

    • Also sometimes when leave the house line on and we go to correct him and grab the leash he pulls on it and flops around and trys to bite and pull on it, he doesn't follow?

      @seanlawson257@seanlawson257 Жыл бұрын
    • when holding the dog tight, you keep holding it until it calms down, this may take a long time (5 min, 10 min, 20 min). If you feel it calming down you loosen your grip, and if you feel it revving back up you tighten your grip again. for me, I use the house line by giving him a firm and short tug when he's about to do something bad (also using a bad marker like "uh-uh" or "ach"). do it a few times and he gets it, sometimes i don't even have to tug on the leash. I don't use the house line to drag him around. If i want him to follow me, I'd use his "come here" command.
