  • Remember the canon where the Foundation was hellbent on killing literally everyone and just released every SCP they had? Couldn't the Foundation done a more... Controlled version of that? Imagine air dropping flyers of the Shy Guy's face laced with memetic hazards to share it with the people of Vegas. Absolute blood bath.

    @McGrewer@McGrewer2 жыл бұрын
    • I think it is implied to have happened anyway by the end, and I think mostly by itself (that mention of the reduction in the mutant population to only that of 5% of what humanity's total once was... and I'm guessing that was by the time almost all of humanity was converted... so much death and misery... but, like a Phoenix-like life forged out of a self-made crucible, the new and capable and no longer vulnerable sapients were raised towards the bright(er) Blue skies...now too themselves infinite and eternal, and somewhat wiser for having experienced all of it), incidentally or accidentally, by containment failures from all the competing and collective, compounding anomalous energies destabilizing the whole order of things... physical and metaphysical, at least as it was before... and I think that was also the point to a degree, that while the whole destruction was avoidable, especially if the (noble, but too self-righteous, over-zealous and ever-jaded, but understandably so) Foundation would just hold off on the fighting in lieu of other more diplomatic solutions, regardless of seemingly iron-clad protocols, including further cooperation ...the Earth as is might've survived to remain habitable...if not fully sustaining of human "civilised" life... but that too was irrelevant in the end, to the ascended who were leaving anyway for more opportunities and potentialities...still, this could've left something for life in general to rebuild and restart... but no, the foundation's last ditch effort only exacerbated the bad of the whole issue...making a metamorphic crisis into an XK (doomsday) scenario...and this time, without the 2000 to bail anyone out, thanks to all that all-out cleansing and scorching...

    • Actually, I think the mutants could probably subdue the shy-guy, or even kill him. He’s not all the scary or powerful compared to some of the other wild shit the foundation has.

      @14megasxlr@14megasxlr2 жыл бұрын
    • @@14megasxlr I just used him as an easy to understand example. They got dozens of SCPs that rewrite the past. AT LEAST ONE of them could have been approved by 05 for use once they started getting killed.

      @McGrewer@McGrewer2 жыл бұрын
    • Beal McGrewer Thats why this isnt really that well written as an SCP imo. It doesnt utilize the near infinite SCPs already present and just hammers on about mutants. I havent finished the video yet but so far its pretty subpar, especially when you compare it to excellent work like SCP 5000. I mean we know that the foundation holds supreme power, in a sense, because of things like the anomaly cancellation set ups (eg 055 and 579 iirc) in several other stories, and they'd just have to utilize a couple of those and execute some directives through the exclusionary sites to clean this mess up (i.e reverse it and contain it effectively). But for some reason all that is never brought up. the foundation really comes off as helpless throughout this Tale, which really is not the case... But whatever. It's fine as a stand alone. Not that good as an addition to the overall canon tho imo.

  • Fun fact: The Exploring Series is the best. He gives all videos his best, and he tries not to omit any important details, or underwhelm the audience by excluding certain scenes. His videos are interesting, but people just assume because it's a non-animation, it's boring. He keeps everything visually appealing as much as he can. We heathens need to learn from him.

It makes me feel like Apotheosis (which has godlike entities now) will carry on on another earth like world and start anew similarily to how Audapaupadopolis actually started. • Probably cause even though this story should touch every facet of the scp foundation, we basically just got guys with guns failing to kill mutants. While I don’t have any negativity for the writer, I think that’s cause one of two things. One, the writer just doesn’t know much about SCP in general and didn’t realize all that the foundation could easily utilize to beat this situation. Or two, they do realize that, and realize that they’d have to remove any SCP’s to make this story remotely plausible when the foundation has reality benders. So yeah, nothing about this story was any different than non-scp stories. A government type body figures against magic mutants and loses. Done. Not the most SCP like story ever, which is probably why it didn’t appeal to your liking. Same for me, honestly

    • I am currently writing a story related to the Apotheosis hub about one of the the last remaining platoon strike team of epsilon-6 with their young commander and that together, with the remain of the scp foundation. This single platoon strike team will represent the entire Epsilon-6, also they will have a new name from ,,village idiots“ to ,,Deus venatores“(it’s latin, search it up) together with the remains of the scp foundation and with the no more secret O5-1w they will keep hunting down the gods, it sounds quite crazy as they are mortal but c’mon, this platoon has faced hundreds of such situations and will somehow deal with that with some form of weapons they will carry in space. See it as a space adventure

  • Genuinely, I hope X-Men itself takes inspiration from this story one day. It's amazing, tightly-written, and feels like one of the few perfect endings to the SCP universe.

  • Love this story, 2nd only to the Ouroborous cycle in my opinion. T.e.s. think you can do something on Dr. Kondraki or Pangloss. I've only just started reading through the wiki and haven't really come across too much about either just yet.

You will always be my favorite chanel, heck, you specifically got me started on my heavy SCP addiction. It was the red sea object (which also still stands as my favorite SCP)

    • I think my gripe with apotheosis is that it’s rushed. Like they have all these characters but their development is skipped over or none at all. Which makes me not care about anything or anyone. Probably because this was in a doomsday contest thing so they couldn’t really flesh any of them out, and instead focusing on destroying the world. Cuz that’s what the doomsday contest is all about. Honestly, I could go over everything on what I don’t like about apotheosis but that’s gonna be an essay.
