    • We exist as Lovecraftian entities destroying countless realities, not out of malice or spite, but out of benign forgetfulness. The existence of the foundation depends on our collective memory, and so it delays the inevitable. It doesn't want us to forget about it, and so it creates countless realities for us to consume.

    • I barely understood the whole scope of the story. From what I got, this “Worm” entity eating corrupted timelines/parallel universes is actually an object equivalent to a rock in a higher dimension. This higher dimension seems to be in a midst of a war, where our section of reality has been hit or in the process of being hit.

Meanwhile I was at the backseat imagining them as D-classes and I was a researcher doing an experiment to see how far they will go before they begin questioning: 1)their sanity 2)the principles of baseline reality 3)the credibility of TES as a news outlet Of course the veil was unravelled eventually but it was an thrilling experience

  • I gotta be honest, I didn't care much for the Project Palisade storyline until the last part of SCP-3591. It really put into perspective what's "really" happening, with the Foundation of the Mainline Reality being powerful enough to create ENTIRE ALTERNATE REALITIES, and yet still not being powerful enough to avoid a ricocheting rock thrown in a war happening between forces they can't possibly comprehend. Really boggles my mind.

    @COOPERx223x@COOPERx223x Жыл бұрын
    • That is what really turned me off to it. I liked the idea of the one true universe creating copies of themselves just to use as bait to desperately survive an all ending universal threat, but then if fell into the same horribly overplayed and overused "Lovecraftian" trope. The old nothing matters we are so small we are less than ants to them. Its so old and overplayed.

  • Here's my comment from the original part 1 video: I love these lengthy confusing plot-twist SCP's. I'm so excited for part 2! Here's my comment from the original part 2 video: This was amazing. It honestly makes so much sense and works well into the narrative. That's so cool! Now for my thoughts on this video where both parts are combined: I still agree. This is very interesting. Definitely some of favorite kinds of SCP's for sure. It's so existential and nearly impossible to understand the scale of something like this. That kind of concept is incredible yet also deeply terrifying. It really makes you reconsider everything you know. It's very well written and I'm glad that we can get both parts combined into one video now. Nice.

Why would an all-powerful being require you to believe in and worship them, and why would anyone want to hang out with a guy like that? Kinda like the idea of a world-destroying entity that couldn't care less that we are here, one way or another. The SCP Foundation definitely has a bend toward self-importance (for obvious narrative reasons), a refreshing take on everything trying to kill humanity for no reason

    • It makes sense from a Platonic perspective, for example, if Good, capital G, is a person, then opposing that person is bad by definition, you need to accepted the hierarchial superiority of Good, to be good, and you need to worship Good to be good. (Good capital G being "Goodness itself")

      @euclidesribeiro8810@euclidesribeiro88105 ай бұрын
    • @@euclidesribeiro8810 why wouldn't just being good be enough for the Good entity? I.e. following their tenants, accepting their wisdom, etc? Worship is this extra step. Like, I follow the laws, and I think most big laws are good ideas, but I don't worship the laws. I don't spend every waking moment thanking the laws, asking the law to protect me, all those things religious people do. I just don't break the law

Seeing as they do not know if the worm is indeed gaining strength or not & not sustaining itself on their attempts to survive. So they disregard a theory that might actually be the thing that happened. >.>; Also: Doesn't THE WORM kinda sounds like an actual Blackhole of sorts? =/c

    • Depends what level of reality we assume the scarlet king resides in because if it's part of the False Realities Made by the "Mainline foundation" them the Rock(/worm) wins but If it's on the same level as the ones who threw the rock that is the worm then the scarlet king effortlessly wins

  • The giant body sounds like a storylines from Marvel Comics. To which Earth discovered that Galactus is dead and his corpse crashes onto Earth. Though different outcomes come from it. Either unleashing a zombie plague that pretty much devastates the planet. To a Xenos species pours from it and also devastates the planet. To Franklin Richards (Son of Reed Richards and Susan Storm's son. Or The Fantastic Four family) using his literal God Powers of Creation to resurrect the Eater of Worlds. All to save the universe from some big bad threat....don't judge. Comicbook logic. Or we got the Space Station "Nowhere". Which is the literal head of a being known as a "Celestial". And won't go into details about what they do there. Just say, it is more than a den of scum and villainy. Yeah....

  • This... reminds me of the scp computer that sends people back in time making a second timeline where things would end after a certain point. But on the screen of the computer you could have q chat with who went back and there be a icon of a dog on the screen chasing a ball. It's chained up but when it gets the ball the other universe is destroyed.

  • So, is the worm destroying Entire universes, including every galaxy cluster, planet and star civilisation within that universe, or is it just destroying our planet or our solar system or galaxy within all these different universes. I'm finding it hard to determine whether they mean the entire universe or if they just refer to our planet within the universe when they refer to them as 'other universes' ....
