Today I wanted to change up the look of my keyboard with some new keycaps. I wanted to go for something rather inexpensive so I went this Keychron PBT OSA 'double shot' keycap set.

I noticed that some of the keys weren't properly double shot, which is somewhat disappointing but I personally dig the look.
Note from Ben: Tried recording in a slightly lower resolution and it became quite grainy, so I'll have to keep that in mind for next time.

Thanks for showing the inside of the space bar 😁 That helps me out quite a bit, I wanted to see if these keycaps would accomodate the kbdfans spacebar foam I got, because they dont actually fit the stock keychron keycaps on my k2.

They responded mentioning that they doubleshot was intentionally like that. It just turns out that I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to keycaps.

are they deeper than pbt cherry or sa profile? cause i want a thocky board, regardless if its louder
I would definitely say they’re deeper. I would say that the sound difference between these and the stock keycaps are noticeable but not as significant compared to a board with and without the PE foam mod.
basic question please - What ARE OSA keycaps? What is the difference with OEM? Are they taller?
I think the main things are the rounded top profile and the slightly taller height.

Do you feel a big difference on these OSA keycaps compared to OEM or not?
Definitely. The rounded profile of the keycapa as well as the different height definitely took some time to adjust to from the stock keycaps and it took me some time to feel comfortable typing on the set, but after some time I got used to it.
are they slower for tying?
At first if you’re using this profile keycap for the first time, you’ll likely find yourself typing slower than usual, but after a bit of time you get used to it and you’re typing at your usual speeds.
I'm surprised that the OSA keycaps aren't fully filled out with "double-shot" as stated. If you look on the cherry keycaps Keychron provides, images show they are fully filled! :hmmm:

Yeah sorry about that, I was debating cutting that out, but I’m still trying to play around with editing (as I’m new to it). I was hoping that adding the time stamps would work for making chapters so people could skip through it, but I must be doing something wrong there as it’s not working :/ Thanks for stopping by nonetheless!
The spacebar is one of the worst I've ever used. I purchased a Nuphy Ghost bar and it is much better.

@@bktekno5267 I found the sound profile on the OSA keycaps to be so nice. I regret switching them out.
Next time maybe edit out the loud snaps and hand clapping. Hard to assess the typing sounds after your eardrums are bleeding.

you don't have to include you clapping your hands and blowing my ears out mate.. that's for you to adjust audio levels in post.
That’s my fault 100% At the time of making this, I really didn’t put much care into making this. If I ever make something like this again I’ll definitely improve upon that.
