  • I was heavily debating on getting a Keychron V2 since all I've heard are great things. After a couple of videos I decided to go for an Akko 3068b (black/pink) since it had the look I wanted and like Keychron, it sounds good stock. I don't plan to mod anything until I learn more about the hobby but your videos have been a great start!

  • I found your channel late last year and it inspired me to upgrade from my old keyboard of 6 years that was not hot-swappable. I got a Nuphy Halo75 with Rose Glacier tactile switches, and lubed the switches+modded a few of the stabilizers (most of them were surprisingly secure). Since then I replaced the switches with lubed Baby Raccoon linear switches and slightly heavier retro PTB keycaps. It feels and sounds amazing to type on, which is great because I should be happy with the tool I see and use while I work!

The gmmk pro is definitely worth it. Especially with the glorious app to control all the lights. I have certain keys (arrows, wasd, left ctrl, left shift) highlighted blue and green while i have an over all pink light effect on the rest of the keyboard. I also love the weight of it. • I bought the GMMK Pro while it was on sale for Black Friday and am pretty happy with it. I recognize it isn't the best, but my keyboard needed replacing and I don't really have the time (needed keyboard) nor space to just wait around or have multiple options. So the perma-in stock is a major bonus that just can't be discounted. I came from an old razer chroma. I also bought their lubed panda switches, so far so good. I have noticed a few keys that don't seem to activate consistently. Not sure if that is a keyboard/pcb issue, or a common thing when you buy switches where a few in the pack are going to be DOA.

    @dreadlord9257@dreadlord9257 Жыл бұрын
    • Hey there! Thanks for sharing your experience with the GMMK Pro. It's great that the perma-in stock option was a major plus for you. Regarding the inconsistent key activations, it could potentially be an issue with the switches or the PCB. Did you try reaching out to customer support for assistance? On another note, have you considered using the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule to keep your keyboard clean? It's a versatile tool with powerful vacuuming and blowing capabilities that could help maintain your setup. Happy tech-ing!

Keychron is now selling PC and brass plates for these so I'm hopeful those will be an improvement. Ended up adding o-rings to the tray mount posts which was a big improvement, and more o-rings between the top and bottom case mounts to make it sound less hollow. The top case is a bit flimsy and somehow I cracked it during one of many re-assemblies.

  • I've watched so many of your videos and I'm interested in keyboards but I somehow don't get it. Almost all of them look the same and have the same layout. It's so boring and borderline bad for sb like me who wants a 96 or fullsize keyboard because I actually need the numpad. Also not a single mention about ISO layouts. I don't want to critize you in any way but the keyboard community as a whole. There is so much we could do but it's literally always TKL ANSI and low-profile doesn't really exist at all. And I also want to mention the pricing. Holy sh.. 100$ for a pair of keycaps? What the actual f? Excuse me but who is seriously buying keycaps for over 50$. They remain pieces of plastic and they definitly aren't worth more than 50$. I don't think anybody will spend more than that but I could be wrong tho.

    @ServusLuis@ServusLuis Жыл бұрын
  • I'm typing this on an NZXT Mini TKL right now, but it's my first mechanical and I got it for half price, so I'm a pretty big fan so far. I think that, as someone who's upgrading from an incredibly cheapo rattly membrane keyboard, literally anything would've been good, but I think the main reasons I'm not bothered by the issues you pointed out in that video are 1: I don't plan on taking this keyboard apart until I stop using it, 2: I think you might've cut it a little more slack if you'd gotten it for $60, and 3: I realized that I'm probably gonna need to build a split keyboard to prevent hand strain anyway, so at WORST, I basically just paid $60 for an OK set of caps and switches (which... I think is a decent price?) But yeah, all the problems you had in your video about it are definitely real; I just happen to have other priorities.

  • Hey Hipyo! Thanks as always for the great and entertaining video! I hope you are doing well… I wanted to ask you if you know the Glorious GMMK 2 or the switches built into it (Glorious Fox Linear). If you have tested them, I would be very happy if you could tell me your opinion about them. If not, I would really appreciate a test. Thanks in advance!

  • I bought the Keychron Q3, but decided I need to keep my wrists working for the coming decades, so I switched to the Keychron K3 (RGB + hot swappable keychron switches) and loved it so much I got another for myself (instead of work). Initially I missed the keypad and the insert key (as a programmer I sometimes need it for a shortcut), but the keypad was just something I had to learn, and the missing Insert key can be used via `Fn + Del`. I now hate larger keyboards (like the Q3) - they're just too chonkey for me!

  • This was kind of a wasted video. You broke your one and only rule, that they should be in stock. EVERY keyboard you recommended is out of stock. Sure, the keycaps and keys were a nice addition but when the defeat the purpose of your own rules from the beginning, you defeat the purpose of the video. Maybe should have just said this was a key and key cap recommendations.

  • Hey Hipyo, I have been watching your videos for about 6 months now. I'm not sure if you've used this keyboard or reviewed it, but the vissles v84. This is a board i have considered getting in the past. I would like to see how good this board could be with proper modding. It would be awesome to see this board in your videos. Keep up the great content my dude.

  • I have to say that this is a decent starting point for a hot swap build but some of us would probably be better served by a low profile one especially if you don't find common wrist rests comfortable.

I could watch your videos all day 😇 Currently lubing my first set of switches, glorious pandas. I have a YUNZII KC68 (imo a great budget beginner keeb) and I’ve done a foam mod and that’s about it. I’m getting a wee bit of rattle on my keys with stabs. Any tips? Lightly touching them without pressing creates a rattle that I HATE

  • I am aware hipyo that the gmmk pro isn't the "best" option but I recently built one with akko silvers and di the tape mod. I also replaced the aluminum plate with a polycarbonate one. And i love this keyboard. I think the problems most were having with it was early release issues. The only issue I've had with it is the spacebar. (which is fixable) Anyways, great video. I also dont think its incredibly overpriced compared to other 75%. I also thought the gmmk pro looked the best to me. It's just personal preference and how much modding you want to do. Anyways great vid.

I'm almost an expert in custom keyboards despite never owning one or lubing a switch (thx god). I'm a video editor and I enjoy silent slim mac keyboards. So why am I here? There is something satisfying watching someone do all work. I think I would have a mental break down if I reviewed keyboards for a year.

Anyone know who the different seires of Keychron compare, and maybe which you would recomend for gaming? Don't have experience with types of keyboards, switches or keycaps, but prefer a keyboard without to loud clicks if that helps a bit. Any advice is appreciated.

Moving that to my living room PC and am putting together a K10 Pro with Boba U4s and Drop Skylight keycaps. For full-size wireless mechanical boards, Keychron is the best (and one of the few, admittedly) available!

Best price to performance when you want a very good SIlence, full keyboard (96%, i need my Numpad xD) It costsin Europe 125 Euro.. so you cant beat that for a very good full pre build, lubed, hot swap keyboard with very good isolation/foam inside
