thank you so much mr hipyo tech, this is the third time you’ve stopped me from being forced to at gunpoint to try something, but thanks to you i don’t have to!
hipyo crossed out "So you don't have to" so now we have to try it ; _ ;
how did you comment 12 hrs before the video was posted?

I'd honestly love some bigger brands to get into the enthusiast keyboard zone. It would be really good for the hobby.
What do you think they’ve been trying to do for 3 years now. Nobody can get it right. This is as close as it comes.
@@frostgodx No, they haven't. They've been making gaming keyboards for years. The only one who actually tried was Glorious with the GMMK Pro, which is honestly still not that good but up until the Q1 released was very successful.
100 thieves is trying to with higround brand
@@thannydevitos2332 dude chilllll lol. Now this board is like actually much better than the high ground ones, lol just buy whatever key caps you want and shit change the linear switches if you have too and you got a great board, where as the high grounds are almost EXACTLY the oem of this literal $20 60% board I have next to me (I have it just to throw around or take somewhere quick, but man it’s decent for what it is but also not even close to this asus one)
@@reallyriley123 don’t know why you think I need to chill, literally said “trying”. Don’t know why you’re so extra
thank you, hipyo, for all of these mechanical keyboard videos. idk what exactly came over me but the last few weeks i've been obsessed with mechanical keyboards. i ordered a keyboard about a week ago and just finished some light modding and omg i am so satisfied with going down this rabbit hole.
everyone’s gotta go through the custom keeb path once in their life lmao
My problem with enthusiast keyboards were that they never had fast enough response times on their wireless functions than wired for gaming. I really hope more companies follow suit with this Asus board.
With how close keyboards like these should be from your computer i believe they should just use 5Ghz or maybe 60Ghz even, would reduce the latency to almost 0.
Agreed! I like the ultra low latency for gaming but keyboards like GLORIOUS just don't have low enough latency for me. If the price is right, I think this would be a great compromise, especially if I can mod it to get that "thock"sound.
@@DrakyHRT That does help, all things being equal. A little bit, very minimal. Reducing the stack to help bring down the number of steps would help a lot more. Average keyboard controller does all the steps in like 100µs, leaving 900 of them even if you wanna be on time for a 1000Hz polling rate.
@@DrakyHRT 2.4ghz dongles basically already have 0 latency. Linus did a test of wireless gaming mice that had negligible differences in terms of performance vs wired ones. Negligible in the way that the wireless mice seemed faster.
@@DrakyHRT Some people buy wireless keyboards for the express purpose of using them across the room (for example from a couch to a TV setup on the other side of the room). This change would potentially cause dropouts and alienate that customer base 🤷♀
Interesting, badseedtech had a pretty good review as well. Will be interesting to see if Asus keeps progressing in this direction
or even better if they buy or make a subdivision that focus on the enthusiast market, then they would dominate almost everything
honestly i'm suprised they sponsored you again, keep up the great work hipyo!
That really shows they had confidence in this product
@@imo098765 Confident he won't change the switches and the keycaps? :D
I saw someone mention this while at CES without much info. Glad you got your hands on one. The estimated price sounded like a bit much but I guess it's not terrible with what all it comes with and what it can do. Hopefully they make a barebones kit but I doubt they will.
ROG usually has a markup for their products, but their products are usually pretty cool with some neat functions so, dont expect an rog product to be cheap!
I love RBG not because of the colours but because I can see the keys on the night ( i just set them to a solid warm calm yellowish white). I guess keyboard enthusiast have a really bright light during the evening and night so they always see like the sun is shining directly into the keyboard.
i thought exactly the same as you but i bought not shine through keycaps not long ago and the RGB around keys light them enough so you can still see the letters at night. + the brightness of your monitor and if you have rgb lights for you desk or a lamp, it makes a big difference too
if you guys are chasing after lit up keys, you guys can find whitelight backlit keyboards, most rgbs have white backlit options. With rgb its very difficult to achieve white light. I opted for a white backlit keyboard because i wanted something different from my apple keyboard😂
@@vivianabriones9950 That is a great suggestion. Some people see the RGB color effects and want a keyboard like that initially, but end up just going solid after the hype wears off. Going with solid white backlight might be a great option for certain people!
Not everybody has to look at the keys while typing...
75% is my favorite layout too. I'm on a ROG Falchion now, I'm definitely getting this.
Looks like a solid keyboard. I'm not a keyboard enthusiast but interesting to see new products like this. I wish they'd have a full length keyboard with the numpad but that's my preference for boards. I'd probably pick this keyboard up when it releases too.
They might do other layouts if the demand is high and this Azoth board actually sells, like Keychron did with their whole keyboard lineup. Keychron did so many layouts i couldn't even keep up with them at this point
I think if it does ever come with a layout with a numpad, it's going to be a 96%.
While the aesthetic is more gamery, it is understated enough that I quite like it.
please make a silicone only build. . like transparent case. Silicone pour. Some transparent switches polycarbonate plate and the squishy keycaps
love the vids, can't lie, this keyboard is pretty good for asus. I'd really like to know more about the stabilizers and where to get them.
the fact that asus is actually somewhat making an effort to tailor keyboards towards enthusiasts is cool. still a ways to go to be a competitive option, but heading in the right direction from the looks of it
Thank you for using the Jasmine keycaps. I think you are the first one to showcase it. I could find a video when searching few weeks ago
Damn, this is the first time I've ever seen the title imply I should try one of these keyboards. I already kinda wanted to as a ROG fan, but if it's winning over Hipyo of all people then it's gotta be good.
I just got it and set it up, no modding needed. I asbolutely(on purpose) love this Asus ROG Azoth keyboard. It is pure quality. The sound when I type omg, for the first time I have a KB with the sound and feel that I love.
I REALLY want to see someone like Hipyo make a video modding a Wooting 60HE into another case and making the world's best gaming keyboard sound like an enthusiast keyboard. I need it.
Hey hippy Great to see your channels growing a lot! 🎉❤
Hey “hippy” please correct this sry if I’m being rude
RIP Lawyer Hipyo. First video I'm watching of yours. Glad I stumbled upon it. Great stuff. Keep up the fantastic work. New sub here. Cheers brotha.
You know after 3 weeks of watching your videos and I keep coming back. You’ve earned you sub from me. Keep up the great content man, I’m starting to look up too you
My 77 yr old dad might like this keyboard. He likes wireless because he types with keyboard on his lap (helps his arms and shoulder bones and arthritis issues etc). He also likes shine through North facing, because he types from his lap, often in low light and he prefers to see the legends light up. *I'm still going to get him a nice BenQ floor lamp to illuminate his area better. He also prefers a lightweight keyboard so he can lift it from his desk to his lap easily (he's 77 yr old and has shoulder and joint issues etc). I'd modify this with Kailh Box Brown V2 switches. I'd then use the thickest PBT double shot shine through caps I can find. I'd loosen the screws, similar to in this video, to prevent over compressing the gaskets and foam so that they work better. Hopefully it won't be over $200 USD though
Hi hipyo. Thanks to your youtube videos i finnaly decided to try and join the keyboard moding communiti. I just ordered my first set for everthing and cant wait to start building 😁
Honestly, I feel like Asus is the only gaming company who is listening to the enthusiasts. Which is amazing! hype!
Great video, as always. Asus really seems to have done their research before making an entry into the 75% market. Unlike the other "gamer" brands that just threw something out there and are hoping that their brand name will sell it. Yes, I'm talking to you Razer, Corsair, Cooler Master, and Logitech. Rumor has it Asus will offer a barebones version, also.
well they had hot swappable switches on their mice for so many years. They're like why not on keyboards too?
Well, 6 months later and still no barebones. Probably just a rumor after all.
Thank you Hipyo! Got a Keychron V1 96% for work and added Gateron Yellows with Whale keycaps! 🎉
the 10 second part im really here for is at the end..nice. Most important thing at the end
Thanks for this review, yea I subbed too, been looking for something that was gaming but wanted to build my own as well... this was a good hybrid. I picked up the blue switches which I'm very pleased with so far but very happy I can swap them out if needed. Oddly enough, I really like the keycaps as well but perhaps I'm just strange ;) definitely enjoying the content as well! Plan to pickup a cheap Amazon keyboard to see if I can mod it with out breaking it!
this is my first time watching ur video and the quality is so good u earned 1 more subscriber
I will say that this at stock sounds really really good tbh. I would buy it and use it for some months fully stock, maybe just try to lube the included switches. I will look into it 'depending on the price' like Hipyo said. Thanks a great for an informative video, I'm looking at changing my Akko for a more "gamey" board (no idea why)
Dammit I missed the upload 😫 thanks hipyo, I've been looking at all different kinds of boards. I think I'm gunna go with something budget either 60% or 65% to mod rather than a prebuilt. It'll be my first custom board, so I'm following your videos on modding 😊
Whoa, that "after" sound is pretty damn good. Might have to pick me up one of these.
Glad I subbed to your channel man! Always enjoy your content! Wanted to ask any chance you could get your hands one the Wooting 60HE? Thanks!
Hey mate. Great videos, you couldn't be more agnaging and informative, awesome job :) It would be great tho if u could make a video abou full size keyboards. Some of us are gamers actually working from their game stations, and we really need that numpad on hand 😂 there are many budget options out there, from reddragon, some keychron and many brands I've never heard of before and making good choice is difficult. For example g413 from logitech sounds like a good, simple, 'budgetish" option, but it's not hot swap and can't find any good info about their switches, any way to improve them or so. Just saying, would be great to see something like that :)
I like those stabs, feels like they're easier to tune from the looks of it. Hopefully it's not proprietary and can fit on other boards.
I’d be curious to hear your thoughts on the Mountain Everest Max keyboard. I’ve been a fan of mine, and even more so after I followed your videos on how to lube and mod! Thanks for the tips and tutorials btw!
I'm actually considering this keyboard, it costs the same as I was otherwise going to spend on a new board, has that wonderful screen, works with Armoury Crate (I already have an ASUS motherboard), and comes with the lube station included. I like clacky, so i'll likely lube the stock switches and unscrew the case screws for more gasket performance.
I feel like this keyboard is a good area somewhere in the spectrum of of enthusiast and gaming. will definitely be picking up.
Can't wait to see when I can buy this hope the price point isn't too crazy but seems to be better than most of the competition if offered in retail stores like Best Buy, only competition I see there is glorious brand which the Best Buy local to me does sell some of.
I feel like theres a market growing for people are trying to get gaming keyboards that sound good (prebuilt gaming keyboards). Like akko boards but both focused on gaming and sound(lubed stabs, foams, good sounding switches, etc) I'm excited to see if gaming companies will start focusing on sound and let people start entering the keyboard rabbit hole?
hipyo thank you so much. i am so happy i listened to your tutorial on how to lube switches. i lubed my sk61. it has yellow switches. i dont know how to fix ticking stabs though thanks.
RIP Lawyer Hipyo. The keyboard is tempting. It's one of the two gamer keyboards that I would like to try. The second is Wooting 60 HE.
LED screen is a nice touch. definitely considering
Hipyo blue hair = budget ninja
I've mained this keyboard for a while now. I actually really like it and don't see any reason to change it for now. Yeah it's a bit pricey, but you do get a solid keyboard. I prefer 75% layout. And when compared to one of my other keyboards like the Razer Deathstalker V2 Pro TKL it's just better in everything. For almost the same price! The battery life is insane on this, I've never experienced any wireless problems, the software works fine and the info screen is pretty nice for a quick check on cpu and gpu temp while gaming. I changed to silent tactile switches and different keycaps. I only wish it came in a solid black or white option. Kudos to Asus for making a really solid keyboard that touches more into the custom keyboard genre!
That is a sus keyboard, indeed.
Pretty good
🤣🤣
Here before it may blow up
Heheheh
@@Susy773I don't have a gf
Just picked up this keyboard but with ROG NX snow switches that have an amazing sound! love it so far
Got it on release before it even went live replaced my zoom65 wireless. Sold out world wide for a reason the wireless performance is insane and battery for weeks or months if you turn off rgb and oled sound is “ good” with amazing space bar sound. Feel is “good”
There is a price on the website now, it shows $250. Which seems to be right on the money from what many reviewers were hoping. I’m seriously considering getting this thing.
Yep, bought the keyboard thanks to your video. Great review. Hope your cat was nice to the squirrel. Thanks
props to asus to make it more enthusiast type keyboard, now finally it aint some sort of gimmick to have a mech keyboard
Keyboard looks awesome. It keeps all the arrows and it has a volume control?! Looks like a great gaming keyboard. 60% are cool but the lack features i really use alot
Dude the sound is actually BUSSIN
Actually ordered one to replace my GMMK Pro. Seems like an almost perfect wireless keyboard if you need wireless along with BT. :) Thinking about getting the new Asus mouse as well due to the light weight and BT! Pretty cool to be able to use the same keyboard mouse for work without having to use a dongle.
I have the new Asus Harpe ACE mouse and it works great, I can recommend it. I kept my GMMK Pro, though, I have heavily modded it to make it look and sound perfect and I don’t care about having a wireless keyboard.
RIP Lawyer Hipyo. Your changes sound much better but I really like the aesthetic of the originals and having the light. If they did south facing RGB I'd probably pick this up and find another set of keycaps and switches for it. Shame cause it's like 80% perfect for what I'd want.
dude...I love the vibe of your videos so freakin much ...never stop doing what you're doing ....mad luv
0:40 okay okay I'll subscribe now, geez... Don't want to break no hearts on the interwebs keep up the good work tho!
dont worry, we wont let you down on your 1 mil sub goal :)
I dont want to break ur heart anymore.. Subscribed!
North facing LEDs are better for shinethrough keycaps because most keycaps have the legend on top. That said though they could have gone with cherry profile keycaps that shine through but that might have caused interference with stock switches
Hey Hipyo! Have you thought about reviewing the wooting 60HE? It’s not really a keyboard enthusiast build but pretty crazy tech in it.
Shoot, I'd send him mine to mod for the vid as long as I get it back with the goodies. I know they're hard to get unless you ordered months ago.
I think Asus should make a new keyboard like this but make it more focused on the keycap quality instead of the rbg
Well, now this keyboard is on my list of "what keyboard should I buy when I have enough for an expensive one" next to the mountain everest max
I actually tried this keyboard at the local Microcenter and loved it, came to see if anyone made a video about this keyboard. I think I tried the red switches and the sound was heavenly. I felt like they use some damping material beneath the space bar, and the video proved it. Not sue about the material quality used but from the surface looks like a decent keyboard.
i have it and i love it
Great step in the right direction for mass market manufacturers for sure, and hopefully it's a trend that continues. The price is going to be a huge deciding factor though. I don't see it finding much appeal from the mechanical keyboard enthusiast market if it's not priced under $200, but then again I really don't think we're the target demographic for this thing. Still...they would do well to try and keep this thing under $200 if possible.
Sounds pretty good out of the box.
Thank you Sir!!!
this is just what i was trying to find
Bigger companies like this, Corsair, razer etc making enthusiast grade keyboards (within normal people standards) would be awesome :D
I really like the stabs. Overall great quality keyboard, just need some thock 👍
mog the stabs are really good
Listening to the before and after sounds expecting massive improvement and must not know what I am listening for because both sound pretty similar.
Your Glarses™ Choir Sound Effect was appreciated
I can't type for toffee. Still like watching this content. So many hobbyists and professionals pave the way for a better stock experience for regulars.
Awesome! Please do the mx mechanical logitech it's actually out of the box not bad.. Not awesome eather but it's using kalith choc v2 which are decent for low profile and it profes the aftermarket is getting it down slowly
Hi Hipyo, I love your videos :))))
This keyboard ended my search for finding my perfect blue switch keyboard. The multiple foam layers and silicone pads made each click light and crisp and not an obnoxious loud reverb thud when you press down bottoming out. Highly recommend 👍
I see the little Glarses reference you did at 0:35
For what it's worth, I don't think the north facing LEDs are because of lack of research, it's so the shine through key caps it comes with don't look sad and dim. Their main gamer market is more likely to care about the backlight looking good with the keycaps they'll probably use the entire time they have it, over one of the many different kinds of keycaps not working with it.
Holy shit, that accessory pack is insane!
thank you for helping me make my decision lol this is alot better then the gmmk pro
I just wanna let you know that I only clicked on this video because I want to check out this new ROG keyboard, that's all. But your intro and sense of humor in the first minute of the video made me wanna subscribe your channel.
Hey Hipyo, I have recently been watching your videos on KZhead, and they are really fun to watch. I recently got a pc and have been motivated by you to build my own custom keyboard. Unfortunately, I don't know where to start. I wanted to ask you if you have any suggestions. The only thing I know I want is gateron yellow switches.
Would you do a key board review of mechanical keyboards with number pad on left side please. I understand these are not your usual keyboard of choice but I live them. Thanks subbed your channel.
I just wanted to thank you for helping me mod my mechanical keyboard
This is a solid keyboard. Asus is making progress. Whatever you think of it compared to other enthusiast boards, there's NO "gaming" big brand out there that can rival this one. Good job Asus!
i like how many features this has
Question how easy would it be to mod a 100% keyboard as i use alot of key binds in my work that i couldn't live without on a more reduced keyboard or do most companine/places dont sell the sort of supplies for those?
Love it or hate it, some gamery keyboards sometimes bring extra stuff that enthusiast keebs don't bring like that LED screen and Lekker switches/rapid trigger.
There are LED screens in lots of enthusiast boards already
@@prokopf-9332 I genuinely would love to be wrong about my first statement. Got any links or models I can look at for keebs with the led screen?
HI Hipyo, love the videos! Quick question, how are the Wuque studio Quartz switches compared to the reds?
Hi Hipyo, can you make a video on the few keyboards that come with an iso-de layout? Or keycap sets for iso?
Got mine today. One with NX Snow switches. Nicer than my custom Panda switches. Lighter lubed and more stable for its lightness. Absolutely great for gamers. Which I am not.
Really cool board. I wish gaming companies would stop the try hard gamer font :( but the board is very cool!
i literally dont understand who gamer font appeals to, it's just so unpleasant :(
@Etenau i would want a better font and so do most gamers. Rn they just accept it bcs thats what the company made
@Etenau They basically have a flawed system. They see people buying the boards with the gamer fonts and assume they're buying it because of it. When in reality, there isn't any other board marketed towards gamers that DOESN'T have the font, so they end up buying it anyways. Now they assume gamers like the font when they probably have no other choice.
It isn't exactly the most attractive font and you're 100% right about it being try-hard-gamer-aesthetic but I find that the font Asus puts on the RoG stuff is fairly easy to read and works well with backlighting as compared to a lot of other fonts. Maybe I'm just used to it by now but I don't mind it as much as I'd expect to considering the actual aesthetic of it
@Etenau Most gamers don't really like it. Sure they don't mind it, but if given the option most would go for a significantly less cheesy font
Using all metal creates a faraday cage effect, interfering with wireless communication. This is at odds with the Aluminum CNC aesthetic people like, but I think it's a worthwhile compromise to be able to make it wireless and reduce latency.
Does this a better choice than Nuphy Field 75? I am thinking about getting a customized mechanical keyboard, thx!
Pro Tip with OLED screens on ur keyboard or Mobo or other stuff that is likely to show static images like HUD for a Long Time: always cycle it thru to prevent burn in
Hi Hipyo, man, could you recommend a keycap set that have shine through characters made for south facing leds? You know, with characters made more to the bottom of the key instead of the top? Have been like crazy looking this past week on the internet..... to no avail.
I went from the NX RED Azoth to the Moonlight Azoth with the new NX Snow switches they were a noticeable improvement curious what you think if you ever get to try it.
just got mine today and its insane the NX snows!
Hey Hipyo whats up hope ur doing great!! U probably won´t see this message but anyway it doesn't hurt to try so i´ve been following ur channel for some considerative time like 1 and a half years and i love ur content and u inspired me to get into moded keyboards. Unfortunately i dont have a lot of money to spare in moding one cause life is though atm im also paying medical bills cause my gramps is hill and yeah thats it. I was wondering if u could maybe make a video or tell me some good cheap components so i could get my own keyb. Once again thank u for the great content and have a great 2023
Thanks for the review. I do think you made a mistake by using different switches which are kinda similar but loobed vs just loobing the stock switches with the supplied material. Now you are moving people in the direction of buying new switches while it might be identical performance like you mentioned. Next to loobing showing your own custom build would have been even better.
